Chapter 05

Pain and anger. That’s what I felt that night. They banished me. They let me go without hesitation in the middle of that freaking ceremony. I wiped my tears harshly as I ran towards the depth of the forest. I’ve got no clothes, no other things. All I brought was myself.

I clenched my hands tight as I stopped and fell down on my knees. All I could see was the tall and big trees surrounding me. The moon was bright and it gave me the light I needed that night. I closed my eyes tight as I wept and howled for my bitter fate. Was this really it? What should I do now? I was alone, and I had no one else to go to.

I sobbed hard until I could no longer feel the pain and the anger that I felt earlier. I became numb. I didn’t know how long I was staring at the trees in front of me, but after crying and weeping hard, I just found myself not feeling anything anymore. I closed my eyes and sighed. Slowly, I stood and walked away. I didn’t know where. I didn’t know what was waiting for me. I didn’t care. After all, I had nothing already. I have no one and nothing to lose.

I continued walking until I no longer knew where I was. It was probably the deepest part of the forest already, but I didn’t care. I continued my steps. I heard the rustling of the leaves from the trees. The wind blew and wrapped around myself. I didn’t even bother to care about the cold. I just want to walk and walk.

“Have you seen her already?”

“No! Damn it, where is that bitch now?”

“Yeah. Tsk.”

“Do we really need to find her?!”

“Margaux would kill us if we can’t find her!”

My legs automatically stopped upon hearing that name. I quickly looked back. I looked around the place. I could hear footsteps coming in my direction. I was about to walk again when four people came out of the dark.

“Oh there you are!” Amelie, the one with the dark red hair said, smirking. The other she-wolves grinned as well.

My brows furrowed. I took a step back. Why are they here and why are they looking for me? What for? I couldn’t understand.

“Margaux will be so freaking happy with this,” the one with the light brown hair said. The four of them were eyeing me intensely.

I felt my throat dry up. My heart started to beat rapidly. I began to breathe heavily. I looked at each one of them.

“What do you want? Why are you looking for me?” I asked coldly. I was stepping back as they were walking near me. I looked at them in horror.

They were smirking at each other.

“Oh, we were just following our Luna’s order, my dear,” Amelie said.

“You will be our gift to her,” the one with the green eyes and black hair lady added. I didn’t know the names of the three, but I know that they’re part of Margaux’s circle.

I scoffed and shook my head. “Wow. And it is not enough that you have banished me already? What else do you want?!”

It was as if anger rushed to my veins again. What the fuck do they still want?!

“Oh you are right, Calla. Margaux won over you, but as long as you live, you will forever be a threat to the Alpha’s relationship with her. So now, it’s time to say goodbye to the world forever, Calla.” I gasped hard when I saw how they were about to attack me. I felt  my heart almost going out of my chest.

They were about to run to me when I ran as fast as I could away from them. My heart was beating so fast as I tried my best to run as fast as I could. Shit. I have never run this fast in my whole life. What the hell is this?!

“Come on, Calla!” I heard their laughs echoing in the darkness of the forest. I muttered a curse. I was about to run faster when I saw that I was running towards a cliff. Shit. I was already running so fast that I wasn’t able to drift to another direction.

“Ahh!” I shouted and closed my eyes tight as I felt my body falling down.

Fuck. Is this gonna be my dead end?

“Shit! She fell!” That was the last thing that I heard before I fell into complete darkness.

***

Shit.

My surroundings were blurry when I woke up. Fuck. I bit my lip hard when I felt the stinging pain in my head. I held onto it. Shit. Am I still alive? I tried to feel where I was lying. Soil. Wow. Guess, I’m alive, huh. I blinked my eyes multiple times until I could finally get a hold of my surroundings. I heard the birds chirping, then I saw the big and tall trees surrounding me. Oh great, I’m still in the forest. I bit my lip as I tried to stand.

I looked around when I heard like running water. And I wasn’t wrong. Meters away from me was a flowing river. I swallowed hard and tried to walk towards it. I was still looking around to see where the hell I was. I was limping when I got to the side of the river. Oh gosh, I was so thirsty that I immediately drank on the river.

I felt relief when I felt the cold water down my throat. I let out a breath. I was looking at the river when I heard some rustling coming from behind. My head immediately turned to the direction. I was about to run but it was already too late.

“Who are you?” a short haired woman holding a basket asked. My eyes widened. She was looking at me fiercely. I swallowed hard. I couldn’t fix my eyes as I was fidgeting on what to say until I grasped a familiar symbol tattooed on her right arm. I felt like my body ran out of blood when I saw what it was.

Shit.

I looked at the woman in horror. That symbol on her arm. That’s the symbol of the Silverstone Pack! Holy shit! Am I in their turf?!
