Luna's POV

The humiliation burns through me like acid as I scramble to pull my dress back on, my hands shaking so violently I can barely manage the zipper. I can't believe this is happening. I can't believe Liam's parents just walked in and saw us... like that.

"I'm so sorry," I stammer, trying to cover myself as much as possible while I search desperately for my shoes. "I'm so, so sorry. We didn't mean for you to…"

"Shut up," Liam's father snaps, his voice cutting through my apology like a blade. "I don't want to hear another word from you."

I look over at Liam, hoping he'll say something, anything, to help me through this nightmare. But he's just sitting on the edge of the bed, staring down at his phone like it's the most fascinating thing in the world. He won't even look at me.

"Liam?" I whisper, but he doesn't respond.

His mother's voice is ice-cold when she speaks. "You have some nerve, coming into our home and... and doing this with our son."

Luna's POV I can't explain what happened to me in the woods. It's been a puzzle I can't solve, and even on our way back home, I can't stop thinking about it. The memory replays in my mind over and over again—the wolf, the blue light, the scattered remains. I can't just comprehend any of it. Alex has gone back to his old self. He refuses to look at me, let alone talk to me. Everything that happened between us seems like a dream, as if it never occurred. It's like he's built a wall around himself again, shutting me out completely. I shouldn't be surprised; it's unlike him to communicate with me. Everything that happened felt unreal, but I know it was so real. I was in the woods, lost and scared. Then I was almost killed by a rogue wolf with yellow eyes and sharp claws. There was that strange blue lightning that came from nowhere, or rather, from me. And Alex was there, witnessing it all—or maybe he tried to help me. I can't say. But still, I keep wondering what Alex was doing in

Luna's POV "God..." I keep murmuring as I search for my way back, but it's hopeless. The only sounds I can hear are insects chirping, crickets singing, and trees rustling in the wind. Then suddenly, I hear something moving through the trees in the distance. I want to ignore it, but there's an unsettling feeling in my heart that I can't shake off.The sound continues, getting closer in my direction. When I realize this, I become more alert and keep looking around toward the sound. It keeps getting closer and closer, then suddenly becomes quiet again.I want to sigh with relief, but I feel like I'm being watched. I sense this presence giving off a dangerous aura. I hear quiet rustling in the trees again."Who's there?" I say, trying to put on a brave act, but deep down I'm scared. My legs are already shaking from fear. I keep looking around... Even though I've already transformed back to human form, I still have my senses and vision heightened. I can smell the scent of damp fur, and wi

Luna's POV"Luna, come on!" Cassie whispers urgently. "We're already fashionably late. If we wait any longer, we'll just be regular late."But something about this call feels important. I hesitate for another moment, then swipe to answer. "Hello?""Luna?" The voice on the other end is barely above a whisper, but I recognize it immediately. My entire body erupts in goosebumps."Who is this?" I ask, even though my heart is already racing because I know that voice."I'm sorry," he says, and I can hear something strained in his tone. "I should have introduced myself first. It's Liam."Relief floods through me so intensely that my knees nearly buckle."Liam!" I press the phone closer to my ear. "Are you okay? You didn't show up for practice today. I waited for hours and tried calling you, but…""I'm sorry," he interrupts, and his voice sounds tired. "I couldn't make it today. I'm really sorry about that."Cassie is watching me with growing curiosity, her perfectly arched eyebrow raised in

Luna's POV I can't sleep. I've been tossing and turning in Cassie's bed for hours, my mind racing with thoughts of Liam and our next practice session. The drinks we had earlier should have knocked me out, but instead, I'm wide awake, staring at the ceiling and replaying every moment from yesterday. "Luna, what the hell?" Cassie's groggy voice cuts through the darkness as I shift positions for what must be the hundredth time. "You're ruining my sleep." I freeze, trying to lie still. "Sorry, nothing's wrong. Just can't sleep." She props herself up on her elbow, squinting at me in the dim light filtering through her curtains. "Are you sure? You've been acting weird since you got back from practice yesterday." I want to tell her about the kiss, about how intense things got between Liam and me before his phone interrupted us. But something holds me back. Maybe I want to be sure about

Liam's POVThe phone call still echoes in my mind as I drive away from the court, my father's voice sharp and commanding even through the static connection. They're coming back from their vacation early. Of course they are.I grip the steering wheel tighter, my knuckles turning white. As much as I love my family, I prefer having the house to myself. I can't stand being under my father's constant scrutiny, his need to control every aspect of my life like I'm still some helpless pup.My chest tightens as I remember the conversation we had when I first told my family about finding my mate. They were all overwhelmed with joy, celebrating like it was the best news they'd ever received. Mom actually cried happy tears. My father even insisted I bring her home to meet them, his eyes bright with excitement at the prospect of welcoming a new member into our pack. But everything changed the moment I mentioned Luna's parents.I can still see the exact moment his expression shifted, the way his sm
