~Zegulf~
I made sure Xyana was properly covered before inviting the Witch and the Alpha's Cabal into my room.I'm certain she won't wake up until the Witch is done because of the sleeping spell that would be cast on her.Ezra, Roldolf, and Thaddeus are standing close to the door while Kadila, the Witch, sits on the floor, and I take a seat on the bed beside Xyana, my fingers entwined with hers as we wait to hear from Kadila. She takes her time to attend to Xyana's wounds first as I ordered, before starting on the other reasons she came.It takes a couple of minutes before she smiles. "Her Wolf is simply hiding away. She doesn't want to take part in any of this." Kadila tells us."Her wolf is a coward?" Ezra asks from his position close to the entrance."Shh," Roldolf scolds him. "Don't speak about the Moon-made like that. Her wolf must have a reason for hiding away."Thaddeus is about to join in their conversation when I lift my hand and s~Xyana~••2 WEEK LATER••Everything is beautiful now. The war has been averted and with the help of my mates, I was able to lay the Odus's curse on the first full moon.Clifton's scar has disappeared and that's not all. We don't have to worry about the demon attached to Amon anymore because Clif lost him during the short while he was gone. The barrier between our world and hell is now completely closed, with absolutely nothing bothering us again. The moon goddess has really blessed me with not just good mates, but a beautiful pack of my own. Gaston announced that whoever found and brought Gideon Ardbry to him dead or alive, would be rewarded with over twenty thousand. And since then, the hunt for Gideon commenced. Mona was tried by the pack council and found guilty. So she was sentenced to fifteen years in prison with hard labor. She was moved out of the Alpha's private call to the pack's cell.I've become more versed and better with my training, also in the management of the pack ho
~Gaston~Xyana's sobs go on for several minutes. She sobs and whispers to herself while she holds Clifton, repeatedly saying that he's going to be okay. I force myself to sit back and watch in silence and tears, my heart breaking more and more with every second that passes. How long am I supposed to let this go on? Her grief is causing her to hallucinate, to think she can bring a corpse back to life when I know she cannot. To say that I'm worried is simply an understatement. Does all of this have something to do with the death of her family members?Maybe she feels like she could have done more for them. Is it possible that she blamed herself for Clif's death?Nearly fifteen minutes later, we are still seated on the forest floor with Xyana still lying over Clif's lifeless body. I know it's time to pull her away. This can't be for her, taking it upon herself to heal a dead man says a lot about the state of her mental state. I'm about to put my hand on her back and tell her it's t
~Gaston~I pull Xyana to my bosom and reach out to my brothers via mind link."I don't know what happened," Declan starts. "But they started falling on our sword too easily. The rest of them ran.""What!" I look at Callum and Azzarus's bodies, hoping their death might be the reason for whatever Declan just said."Where are you, Alpha, are you safe? I can't get Clif via mind-link-""We're good." I cut him off. "Come to the forest around the construction sight when you can. Inform Dion.""Alright." He cuts off."Who were you mind-linking?""Declan.""Are they okay?" "Yes," I reply. She sighs. "If you people lock me up while you go risk your life ever again," she continues, "I’ll kill you all, I’m not kidding. I’ve already killed one person. I know how to do it now." Fuck, my Luna looks so cute and very serious when she's threatening someone. "Consider me warned, and I'll relay the message to the rest of us." "And don't you dare block your emotions from me too?" Damn! "I’m sorry, L
~Gaston~ I search around for Xyana, and when I can't seem to find her, my mind tells me she may be behind Azzarus's invisible veil. But I can smell her, thank Goddess. Her scent is enough to guide me to her location. Still in wolf form, I started running in the direction of her scent. Callum's clones have definitely done a number on me, more so than I'd like to admit. Thankfully the pain hasn't hit me yet. The adrenaline racing through me made my injuries completely tolerable, if not altogether painless. Right now, my sole focus is on saving my distressed Luna. With her scent directing me, I soon passed through Azzarus's veil, and immediately, I froze, stopping dead in my tracks. The nasty, old warlock who calls himself an uncle of mine has Xyana pinned against a tree by her throat, her feet dangling at least a foot above the ground. My goddamn heart lodges beneath my jugular. A mind-link comes in from Dion. "Xyana is in trouble, Alpha. I can feel her fear." I swallow h
~Xyana~My thoughts get cut short by the sounds of growling and hissing coming from somewhere behind me. The sounds are like that of people fighting. My stomach takes a dramatic dive when I recognize the owner of the growls. I will know that sound anywhere. It belongs to Gaston. I sprint in the direction of the noises, my heart racing as the sound of my Alpha's distress only seems to grow louder and more intense. But instead of Gaston, I stumble on something way worse. There are two men; one is older with a hint of several gray hairs, and the other is younger. Both of them are looking out into a clearing of the forest, their backs to me. The younger one is standing, his arms casually crossed over his chest. The older man is crouched down low, his clothing flowing on the ground. His arms are held out in front of him, and his fingers are splayed out. It takes me a moment to realize exactly what they are looking at. There is a mountain of people piled on top of a fighting, snarli
If you've gotten to this point, I'd love to send you virtual hugs and also thank you for sticking around till this point. Here is a free chapter for you ❤️ ~Gaston~ Callum's clones dig into my skin ferociously as if they're on some kind of drug. Time is running out for me to locate where Azzarus and the real Callum are. The more I lose my flesh to these clones, the weaker I'll become, preparing me as an easy kill for the real Callum. The clones I killed kept coming back to life giving rise to a continuous circle of killing and reappearing. Quickly, I shift my priority to keeping them away from my jugular vein. Callum and Azzarus didn't bother to provide them with any weapon, so they only have their fangs and nails to torture me with. I'm certain they will try to go for my neck anytime soon because it will be the quickest and easiest way to kill me. I can't let that happen. Before I could manage to push the multitude on my back away, two of the clones bit into my leg at the sam
