“Oh Angela!” Nora ran to her friend and held her face before wiping her bloody mouth with her skirt. "I am so sorry, you have to go through this, my Queen!”

Angela’s breathing was slow but she was grateful Esther didn’t hit her belly. She opened her eyes and smiled. "I am not your Queen anymore, Nora! I am a traitor!”

Something flashed in Nora’s gaze. “You were, you are and you will always be my Queen! I will always trust you, Angela!”

Angela was so grateful to have a friend like Nora. When her own family and husband didn’t trust her, her childhood friend trusted her.

“Here, Drink this!” Nora pulled out the small bottle of water from under her skirt.

“Alpha ordered us to feed you. I knew somehow this Bitch would do something when she decided to walk here with me, so I grabbed it when she was on the phone!” Nora whispered in her ears.

Angela’s eyes warmed with tears as she drank the whole bottle of water.

“Can I eat them!” Angela gestured towards the smashed bread.

Nora gave her a pitiful look and nodded. “She didn’t let me grab something better!”

“It’s ok. Something is better than nothing to sate the hunger!” And Angela started eating slowly. Her jaws hurt like hell with every munch but she somehow swallowed.

“I brought you what you asked for!” Nora said after a while before making sure the guards couldn’t hear them. She then pulled the paper before showing it to Angela.

“You are pregnant, Angela!” She dropped the bomb and Angela stiffened. She snatched the paper out of her hands and read the contents. Finally a tear left her eyes and she sobbed.

“I gave my everything to him after marriage, I obeyed him, looked after his every likes dislike, obliged every order, just to get an ounce of love from him. But he didn’t trust me, Nora. He trusts those people. Do you think this baby will prove my innocence? It’s his baby.” Angela caressed her belly with affection and cried for its fate too. She sensed it a few days ago that she was pregnant even before she went for a medical check-up.

“Angela, please don't cry. It will affect your baby.” Nora whispered and hugged her body. Angela cried more.

“Angela, do you want this baby?” Nora asked before breaking their hug.

"Of course, what kind of question is this?” She asked, her eyes blazed with motherly protection for her unborn child. “It’s my own flesh, Nora. Why are you asking this?”

Nora took a sharp breath before holding her hands.

“You can’t prove your innocence now, Angela. I don’t know why they plotted against you but the Alpha already believed you slept with his cousin. The recording was authentic. Alpha already had trust issues since childhood and this thing triggered him badly!”

“You know how dangerous Alpha is. He is lethal and doesn't spare liars or traitors. I heard he hit Jordan badly and even removed him from gamma position but for you. Rumours said he will punish you for this severely, Angela. The news of your betrayal spread like fire in the werewolf community. It's silent before the storm. You see how he killed your father. King George went into a coma, his chances of survival are very low. If they can plot against you then they will not spare your child too, Angela. They will definitely try to kill it as it’s Alpha’s heir. There are more enemies than you think, Angela.”

Angela’s eyes widened and she touched her belly. “No one will touch my baby!” She seethed.

She wouldn’t let anyone hurt her baby. Not even her husband. “I have to save myself and my baby anyhow!” She murmured and looked up at her friend. “I have to leave this place, Nora.”

Nora, as if already knew her intention, smiled encouragingly. “Then run away, Angela! You can’t waste time proving your innocence. Save yourself and your baby before it gets too late.” Nora nodded.

Angela looked at her blankly, Run! “But where will I go? My father is dead, mother wouldn’t even look at me! I have no one!” Angela murmured with tear-filled eyes.

“And where is that brave girl who managed to survive among the werewolves and her bullies all her life. Don’t lose hope, Angela. The moon goddess has given you hope in the form of a baby. You have to be brave again. For your baby! I heard Esther talking to someone that she will make your life hell. They might even kill you and show that you lost your senses and hurt yourself.” Nora said further, seeing her reluctance.

Angela swallowed the thick limp in her throat. She closed her eyes, taking a sharp breath. She knew she had to take this big decision because her baby’s life was at stake now.

She sniffed and wiped her tears. “You are right. I have to run from here, far away where they cannot find me. But I am human, they will catch me if I try to. Who will help me?” She asked her friend in a low tone.

Nora nodded and whispered. “That’s why I am here, my Queen. I will always protect you. That's my duty. I will protect you until you don’t get your powers!” Nora smiled, looking at her eyes, her pupils shone into bright orange color when she talked about her baby protectively. And Nora knew she would be fine now.

“My powers?” Angela asked, confused.

“I mean, the baby in your womb has the strong Alpha genes, Angela. Alpha Gideon has many enemies. We must protect it. The baby will give you strength to fight, trust me!” Nora covered up smartly and squeezed her hands.

“Tomorrow the Council members might come and determine your punishment. So you have to flee tonight, Angela. I have a plan. You have to pretend fainting so that you could be taken to the pack clinic. My aunt, Dr. Zamini, is ready to help us. From there, you will leave the pack territory with her before the sun rises. Because there will be less warriors at the border. Don't worry, she will give you the potion to hide your scent so nobody could trace you!”

Angela nodded with tears in her eyes. She had only a few hours to leave this packdom which was her home for years.

“Thank you for everything Nora. I will never forget your favour!”

Nora’s own eyes welled with tears but she was bound to her duty.

“I wish I could help you more, Queen. But I can’t.”

‘You must leave this place before you turn eighteen, Angela. And your life is very important. You people are waiting for their Queen to rise and avenge!’ Nora thought.

“Leave now, your time is up!” One of the guards growled lowly with authority and Nora nodded meekly.

She neared Angela's face and held her gaze. “Listen to me, Angela. You are much stronger than you think. Moon goddess will definitely guide you because you are born for a specific purpose, don’t ever lose hope.” Those were the last words of her friend before she left Angela alone with unknown thoughts regarding her uncertain future.

“I wanted to marry you. My only mistake was that I went out of the pack alone before our marriage date. But I was kidnapped, raped, and got pregnant. It was not my mistake, Gideon. I didn’t cheat on you. Your so-called wife did.”Gideon’s blood boiled so violently that his hand once again grabbed her neck. She had touched the wound He never allowed anyone to speak of.“Daniela..” He growled under his breath while getting close on her face. His hold tightened further, but Daniela smiled through her pain.“I have nothing to lose except my daughter. I know you care for Venessa. You treat her like your own. But what about me? The elders proposed our marriage again. It was a promise, Gideon. You can’t break it. You already removed me from my warrior position. Where will I go? Why don’t you understand that I love you? But you had to go and mark the wife who betrayed you!”Gideon’s jaw flexed. He shut his eyes for a second, and recalled Venessa’s begging him not t

Daniela took a deep breath to suppress her apprehension and anger before walking inside with nervous steps. Her head was also bandaged from the impact of the blow Gideon gave her. “You called me?” She asked him. Gideon nodded, watching her with a stillness that was far more frightening than anger. He had known she was lingering outside the door for a long time. His office was soundproof. Her attempt to eavesdrop had been useless and He had let her stand there anyway, knowing the anxiety would eat her alive.“What did I tell you, Daniela?” He started, pinning her with a dark gaze. “To train Angela professionally. Didn’t I?” Gideon asked, his voice dangerously level, as if rage had frozen into ice.Daniela inhaled sharply and forced herself to meet his eyes.“Gideon, trust me. I didn’t intend to. She started it first. You can ask others. She hurt one of the female warriors violently. I had to intervene.”“Did she ask you to fight her?” Gideon cut in, ignoring everything else she said.

“I arranged for someone to train her. She will come from the Dusk Claws pack tomorrow.” Gideon informed Zamini, speaking as though Angela were not even present there. But his gaze never left her. The intensity in his stare was too much to endure, too dangerous to linger in that Angela averted her eyes. Heat crawled up her throat but her ears sharpened at his words at once. Dusk Claws pack. Again. Her heartbeat skipped. This was no coincidence anymore. This name kept returning, circling her life like a shadow she could not see but always felt. Something was happening behind curtains she wasn’t allowed to pull. Something tied to her. Something everyone knew except her. “It’s better if she learns everything as soon as possible. Take care of her.” With that, Gideon walked out. Angela watched his retreating back with a growing heaviness inside her chest. Zamini began cleaning the wounds on Angela’s thigh. The sting shot up sharply, and Angela hissed. “It will heal soon.” Angela

“Gideon…” Angela breathed, and the single word carried relief, accusation, and longing all at once. His arms came around her before she even realized she was swaying. “Where were you?” Angela complained, forgetting the word around her. Her eyes were settled only onto the gorgeous yet grim face of her husband in front of herGideon didn’t answer. He brushed the hair away from her blood-streaked face, his fingers pausing at the small cuts on her cheek. His jaw tightened so hard a vein throbbed near his temple. Angela exhaled and rested her forehead against his chest. The raging heat under her skin softened, soothed by the familiar warmth of him.“You were supposed to train me,” she murmured, peering up into his storm-silver eyes. “To fight with me, husband. But you vanished. Was that part of your little plan too?”Gideon inhaled sharply, He stared at her face and touched her forehead which was burning hot. He cursed under his breath. Gideon won’t like you in wolf form. You remember he warned you specifically.” She tried to put some sense into Daniela as she didn't have the energy to use her own power again. But it enraged the wolf further as it lunged again. This time, Angela fell hard as sharp paws aimed for her face. She barely shielded herself in time, but pain ripped from her throat as sharp canines sank into her thigh suddenly. Angela screamed in pain. Nora’s breath hitched.
