LOGINAva's POV It's been a week since Dominic and I started sharing a room and it's been a week since I also realised I've been missing out on the finer things of life. Being in his arms, my head on his chest was easily one of the best things in the world, not to talk about his scent…it should be illegal to smell that good! Dominic had gone to the company, I could faintly remember him placing a kiss on my forehead before he left but I was too sleepy to even acknowledge it. Taking a quick bath, I wore a bum short before throwing on one of Dominic's shirts which was more comfortable than anything I own at the moment. He definitely didn't mind since more of his clothes were now on the other side of the wardrobe. It was like we both quietly agreed to move in together. Once I was done, I threw my hair in a bun and made my way to the nursery where the girls were but first, I went to the kitchen to get something to eat. Since I started staying here, I could count the number of times
Ava's POV "Stay in my room tonight.” The words left my lips before I could stop it. Dominic froze, his fork halfway to his mouth.Slowly, his eyes lifted to meet mine. For a moment he just stared at me across the table, like he wasn’t sure he had heard me correctly. Rhea immediately perked up, “well that escalated quickly.” She murmured and heat rushed to my face. “Are you s-sure? I mean, I'm fine with letting you stay until you're comfortable to start sharing a room." Dominic replied, proving that he actually heard me. For someone who was very confident in himself, he looked scared like I was going to do something to him. I've thought about it but it's not going to be tonight. "I know, I just want to stay with you…it's okay if you don't–” "Of course I do.” I fought back a smile as he immediately stood up to clear the plates. I watched quietly loving the effect I had on him even without touching him. And in no time, the candles and everything were gone. Dominic di
Ava's POV “Hi Dom." The voice called and even without turning, I felt my entire body freeze. I turned to see a tall blonde woman walking toward us, her heels clicking softly against the pavement. She was beautiful in a sharp, effortless way, long hair falling perfectly over her shoulders, a fitted black dress hugging her figure like it had been made for her. She looked familiar and I tried to remember where I had seen her. “Elaine," Dominic called, and it hit me. She was the girl from the Mall, the one who was touching him even though she was only his friend. "What are you doing here?" “I tried to reach you earlier, but Sebastian said you were busy…I need to talk to you about something." She said, looking behind him to meet my gaze. “Can it wait? I have something more important." Dominic replied, his hand on my waist caressing me smoothly. “You can talk to Sebastian about whatever it is and we'll deal with it later." She didn't look satisfied. “It's an emergency
Ava's POV The three of us watched as Damien asked Zayden unending questions which he answered. And at this rate, I wouldn't even have to do anything because Damien would've found a way to do it for me. "Should I go and rescue him?” Valerie asked, "once Damien puts his mind on something, he goes with it for a while." “That’s exactly what makes it fun." Isla replied, reaching for the bowl of popcorn that one of the children had given to her before going back to play. “But let's leave that aside, what are you going to wear for your date?" She asked, turning to face me and just like that, Zayden was forgotten. I shrugged, “I don't know yet but I'll definitely come up with something." “That's not good enough," she argued, “this is literally your first date, you're supposed to look ravishing." “You should ask him.” Valerie suggested and before I could convince myself not to, I brought out my phone and typed him a text. “Hey Alpha, where do you plan on taking us for the
Zayden's POV "Why are you looking at me like that?” I asked Ava, whose eyes followed me around the room as I sorted out the paperworks for the meeting with the elders that was going to be held later this week. She shrugged, "what are you talking about?” She asked. "I'm being a good friend and keeping you company.” "I'll believe that if you didn't have that look on your face." “You're seeing things." She laughed. “I'm just thinking about my date with Dominic, I'm not sure how to get ready for it since he didn't tell me where we are going.” Of course she was lying. I've known her…well it hasn't been that long but somehow, I knew how to call her out especially when she was lying. At first, when Dominic said he thought he'd found his mate, somehow, I expected her to be a stuck up, who would make everything about her and be proud because she was mated to the Alpha, instead she was the opposite. "Right, and I'm an idiot.” "I'm glad you're accepting your second nature.”
Ava's POV I was in a much better mood when I woke up the next morning. Maybe it was the fact that I had a good dream but whatever it was, I was grateful to it as I pushed myself up from the bed to go take a shower. And when I was done, I settled for a bodycon gown which hugged my curves before making my way to the dining room. Dominic was sitting there and the sound of the door opening jolted him back to the present and when I saw his eyes, I froze. They were darker than usual, shadows sitting heavily beneath them. He looked like he hadn't gotten any sleep. “What happened to you?" I asked, sitting beside him, “Are you okay?" He nodded, turning to face me. “I had some paperwork to deal with, so I stayed up to finish them." He replied, “did you sleep well?" “I woke up hungry, where's everyone?” I asked, since he was alone and it was me who always kept everyone waiting and not the other way around. “The guys had to sort out something at the company so they left early."
