Damon POV

The celebration should have been perfect.

We had won the biggest game of the season.

Scouts had attended.

Sponsors had attended.

The entire pack was celebrating.

Everything had gone exactly the way it was supposed to.

So why couldn’t I shake the feeling that something was wrong?

I stood near the edge of the celebration, half-listening to another conversation about the championship.

My teammates were laughing.

Pack members kept congratulating me.

Everyone wanted my attention.

AdrianI watched Damon meet his child from across the guarded garden.Every instinct inside me demanded that I stop it.Damon knelt before Elliot with one hand resting over the curve of his stomach. Rowan stood close enough to restrain him within seconds. Miriam remained beside Elliot’s chair, watching his breathing and pulse.I stood several steps away.Near enough to intervene.Far enough to let my son make his own choice.Damon’s shoulders shook. The unborn child moved beneath his palm again, and the Alpha broke down as if something inside him had finally torn open.He did not lean closer. He did not press his face against Elliot’s stomach. He did not wrap his arms around my son or use the moment to pull him into an embrace. He remained exactly where Elliot allowed him to be.That should not have impressed me.A man respecting a boundary should have been ordinary. With Damon, it was evidence.Elliot’s hand rested over Damon’s.Not trapped beneath it.Guiding it.Choosing the contac

Elliot“Do you want me in our child’s life?”Damon’s question remained between us.The garden seemed to become completely silent.Dad stood near the eastern entrance with his arms folded. Rowan remained behind Damon’s chair, alert for any loss of control. Miriam watched from the terrace, her medical case resting beside her.No one answered for me.That mattered. My hand rested over the curve of my stomach. The baby had become unusually active since I confirmed the truth. Small movements pressed beneath my palm, as though the child also felt the change between us.Damon noticed every one.He kept his eyes on my face. Not my stomach. Not the place where our child moved.Me.I had spent months avoiding this question.Could Damon become a father without becoming my mate again?Could I allow him near the child without allowing him back into the part of my heart he had damaged? The bond wanted one answer. My fear wanted another.I needed to find the one that belonged to me.“Maybe,” I said.

ElliotI agreed to meet Damon two days after Dad placed the request in front of me.For those two days, the envelope remained on my bedside table.I did not read it immediately.I walked past it in the morning.Looked at it before coaching.Touched the edge of it after dinner.Every time I considered saying no, questions rose inside me.Every time I considered saying yes, fear followed. In the end, I realized I did not want the meeting because Damon deserved it.I wanted it because I was tired of carrying answers I had created for him.Maybe he rejected me because I was weak.Maybe he never wanted me.Maybe he believed I was guilty.Maybe he had loved me but not enough. Those questions had shaped me for too long.I wanted the truth.Even if it hurt. The meeting took place in Mooncrest’s guarded garden. It was open enough that no one could corner me. Tall trees surrounded the stone path, but the center remained visible from every direction.Dad stood near the eastern entrance.Rowan wa

AdrianI made Damon wait three days before answering his request. Not because I needed time to decide.Because I wanted to know whether impatience would reveal him.It did not.He sent no second message. He did not ask Richard to interfere. He did not use Coach Grant, Mason, or the legal office to remind us that he was waiting. He remained at the northern control centre and accepted the silence. That did not earn permission. But it earned a meeting with me.Alone.The eastern council building was empty when Damon arrived. No Silver Moon delegation. No hockey officials. No Elliot.Only two Mooncrest guards outside the room and Rowan stationed in the corridor in case Damon’s wolf became difficult.Damon entered wearing a plain dark coat.No captain badge. No Silver Moon formal pin.No symbols of rank except the Alpha power he could not completely hide.He stopped several steps from my desk.“Alpha Adrian.”“Sit.”He obeyed.I remained standing. The silence between us stretched.Damon di

ElliotI learned Damon’s engagement had ended while arguing with Lucas about a miniature hockey goal.“It is too large,” I said.“It is child-sized.”“It reaches my waist.”“You are not very tall.”I stared at him.Lucas immediately looked toward the nursery wall as if it had suddenly become interesting. The wooden goal stood beneath the painted stars, surrounded by unopened boxes of baby clothes and soft toys. He had arranged a tiny Mooncrest jersey across the top like a championship banner.“This is supposed to be a nursery,” I said.“It can be both.”“A newborn cannot hold a hockey stick.”“That sounds like a lack of ambition.”Sophia entered carrying another bag of blankets.“Mom said no more sports equipment.”Lucas pointed toward the goal.“This is decoration.”“It has a working net.”“Decorations can be functional.”I opened my mouth to argue again when Elias appeared in the doorway. His expression stopped me.He was not smiling. He held a council message in one hand.My wolf b

MasonVictor did not surrender when the silver restraints closed around his wrists. He fought the Mooncrest guards with enough force to drag two of them several steps across the council chamber. His Alpha power pressed against everyone in the room, heavy with fury and humiliation. But his eyes remained fixed on Lelia.“You are coming with me.”Lelia stood inside my arms, trembling so badly that I could feel it through both our bodies. Her fingers clutched the front of my jacket.“No.”The word was quiet.Victor heard it.His face twisted.“You do not decide.”I felt Lelia’s wolf shrink beneath the force of his command. For years, Victor had trained her to obey that voice. He did not need chains because fear had done the work for him.I placed one hand against the middle of her back. Not pushing. Not pulling.Only reminding her that she was not alone.Damon stood between Victor and us while Mooncrest’s guards tightened the restraints.“You heard her,” Damon said.Victor’s attention tur

By the time training finally ended, every single part of my body ached with exhaustion and pain that ran deep into my muscles and bones. My arms throbbed from the endless drills, and my legs felt so weak they might give out beneath me at any moment. There was still dried mud caked on my clothes, a

Elliot POV Just like every day, the sharp ring of the alarm clock cut through the quiet morning and pulled me from my restless sleep. I groaned softly and tugged the thin, worn blanket up over my head, trying to block out the world for just a little longer. For a brief moment, I let myself pret
