Ember Frost’s POV

All of a sudden, a strange feeling washed over me. I couldn’t even explain it properly. No one had accused me of anything, no one had said anything cruel, yet my chest felt tight, as if I’d been wronged in some unfair way. It was an unreasonable sadness, but it hurt all the same.

At that moment, I missed him unbearably.
