Demian
Leaving Dana has been a very tough decision, but I was forced to do it after finding out what she did. After what Rachel told me about my wife, I was surprised by the woman I had married.
I never thought Dana would be capable of keeping me away from our three-year-old son and threatening her stepsister. But that's what she did. So, I had to decide to leave her and found solace in Rachel's arms when I found out her son was also mine. When I saw Rachel's pain over what happened, I was deeply moved. I decided to protect her.
Before I knew it, I had fallen in love with Rachel again and found myself in a secret relationship. I didn't like being cruel to people; I've been tough and treated Dana coldly with my actions. My hurting heart couldn't act any other way.
It's been two months since Dana and I parted ways, and I haven't stopped thinking about the day I rejected my ex-wife. I don't understand why Dana didn't beg me to stay with her. Why did she agree to leave without asking for forgiveness? Didn't she love me?
I was furious with her. I felt so deceived and betrayed.
Dana's mother paid me a visit. Rachel wasn't home.
"How can I help you, ma'am?" I asked, annoyed but respectful.
"Is it true what I've heard? Have Dana and you divorced two months ago?"
"Didn't Dana tell you?"
"I haven't seen her since then, Demian. What happened? I suspected something was wrong, but I didn't think Dana would hide something like this from me."
Dana loved her mother. I wonder why she hasn't gone to see her mother since then.
Was Dana okay?
I worried but pretended not to.
"I don't know, ma'am. I can't help you. She and I have no relationship."
When her mother left the house, I pondered for a few days why Dana would hide the truth from her mother. Maybe I shouldn't have, but I felt curious about what was happening with her. I needed to know that she was safe because something inside me asked for it.
I've heard that unfriendly packs of werewolves have arrived in the city. What if someone harmed her?
I ordered a detective to search for Dana from the shadows. I couldn't focus on my new life without resolving that curiosity I had. I asked for discretion so Rachel wouldn't find out what I did because I didn't want problems with my future wife.
I couldn't sleep all night thinking about her. Rachel was lying on my chest and hugging me. Looking at her made me think about what Rachel had to go through because of Dana. The resentment had no intention of leaving my system.
I had a strange dream that night. I dreamed of Dana in the hospital. I felt nervous, but I didn't understand why. Until I saw Dana holding two babies in her arms.
"They're your children, Demian," she replied with a smile.
I woke up abruptly and sat up in bed. Rachel didn't notice. I couldn't shake the feeling from my chest.
I always wanted to have children with Dana, but I didn't think I would ask for a divorce. That reality would never happen. Dana wasn't pregnant. It was just a dream.
I grabbed my phone. I still had Dana's number saved.
I remembered Rachel's words: "Dana doesn't love you, Demian. She's using you because she wants your money and power."
If Dana truly loved me, she would have fought not to separate us. However, she left without making an effort to save our relationship.
Rachel left the house in the morning. I told her I would see her at night when she returned from work. The detective I hired scheduled a meeting with me at noon. He said he had relevant information about Dana's whereabouts and health. I waited impatiently for the news.
The detective left the papers on my desk and allowed me to evaluate them myself. I noticed that Dana bought a plane ticket to Kansas City. She left, that's why her mother couldn't find her.
"Has she left the city?" I asked the detective. I looked at the photos of Dana entering a supermarket in Kansas. "When?"
I had a bad taste in my mouth. I don't know why, but I felt furious that she had gone so far away. Maybe she felt ashamed of how Rachel and I acted because of her selfish desires for power and money.
"According to my investigation, she left days after you divorced. To be exact, she left the day you rejected her. She packed her things and bought a plane ticket."
I never expected her to leave. I never even imagined Dana would leave her mother alone in the city. Why didn't she tell her that she was leaving? Her mother probably had no idea what kind of person Dana was.
"There's more delicate information, Demian," he announced. Judging by his expression, he was serious. "I don't know if you're aware of this, so I suggest you sit down to hear it."
Impatience gnawed at me.
"Speak!"
"Dana has been going to the hospital in Kansas City regularly. She's pregnant with twins. Did you know? Is that why you're investigating her? For your children?"
I fell frozen in my office chair. I couldn't believe the detective's words. It had to be a stupid joke. A tasteless joke.
"You can't be serious," I denied, but I remembered the dream I had. I remembered the feeling and pressure in my chest when dreaming of a twin pregnancy.
"I am serious. Didn't you know?"
"Of course, I didn't know!"
The news echoed in my mind. I couldn't understand how Dana could do such a thing to me. First, she kept me away from my son with Rachel. For the second time, she did the same: she left to keep me away from my children. But I wasn't going to let her get away with it. Her children were mine too.
"I have to go find her. I want you to urgently send me the address of her house."
"She lives above a cafe. Dana is renting there. It's not a fancy place she's accustomed to. I suppose the rent is cheaper there, or they give her free accommodation."
"Is she working?" I raised my eyebrows.
I didn't expect her to work in a cafe. Dana was capable and intelligent. But she never had to go looking for a job anywhere.
"The address is on one of the papers. If you need anything else, call me, Demian."
He walked to the exit, but I stopped him.
"Are you sure about this? Is she pregnant?"
"I have no doubts, Demian."
I wasn't going to sit idly by. I had to travel to Kansas City to confront Dana.
Dana Two months have passed since Demian and I divorced. My belly was growing naturally, and the thought of someone finding out terrified me. The idea of Demian finding out through Jeremy terrified me. Jeremy and I had grown closer, but I still didn't feel completely trusting of him. Jeremy swore he was no longer friends with Demian, but I couldn't believe him. The person I trusted the most was Demian, and he betrayed me with my stepsister. Why would I believe Jeremy? Yet, he was so kind to me. Since I was hired at the cafe thanks to him Jeremy hadn't left the city. I knew he had too much work in the city where he currently resided, but Jeremy refused to leave because he wanted to be near me. There was a knock on my apartment door. It was Jeremy. I smiled at him. "And those roses?" I asked, seeing him with a bouquet. "They're for you," he offered them. "I know you like roses. I saw them on my way and felt like buying them for you. Plus, they'll serve for what I have to tell you.
Dana Jeremy left for the airport hours later. My work schedule started soon, so I got ready to go down to the cafe. I was lucky that Jeremy got me an apartment above my workplace. It was comfortable, and I didn't have to worry about commuting in the city. Now I understand that Jeremy helped me so much because of the love he felt for me. I always felt strange about the attention he had for me, but today I learned the reason. He was in love with me. I never realized it. Demian never told me. I didn't even notice that they stopped being friends because of it. The most surprising thing of all is that Jeremy discovered my pregnancy and didn't say anything about it. He respected my silence and didn't pressure me to tell the truth. My shoulders had one less burden to carry. I felt relieved to talk to Jeremy about my children because it was tough to hide my belly from him. Eventually, he would find out, and he did. Jeremy asked me to be his girlfriend. I told him I would think about it, b
DanaI knew Demian wouldn't stop asking about our kids. I tried to steer the conversation away, but I know he was very clear about why he came to see me. I have no idea how he found out, but he did and that was a big problem.I panicked, but I tried to calm down so he wouldn't notice my desperation.Seeing those eyes brought back a thousand memories from the past. Seeing him shocked me. I had never gone so long without seeing Demian, but after the divorce, everything changed. It was inevitable to think about how much I loved him. But I couldn't dwell on his beauty and memories. The past no longer existed. There was a knock on the door. I felt a pinch of relief because it was my way of getting rid of Demian. However, my werewolf senses detected the scent of a perfume I knew well: Jeremy's perfume.I didn't know what to do. Should I open the door? If I did, Demian would realize that his ex-best friend was here. I didn't owe him anything, but I knew it could create a conflict between the
DemianAfter knowing the truth, I knew I couldn't stand idly by. I had to find Dana and confront her for what she did. I was so furious and desperate to see her and tell her so many things. The anger consumed me.I thought about Rachel. She wouldn't like the idea of me being the father of Dana's children, but it was reality. Rachel deserved to know the truth at some point and support me on this journey, as it wasn't easy. However, the idea of being a father wasn't repulsive to me, but rather how recklessly Dana acted. What kind of person hides their children? Dana had no right!I had to lie to Rachel, telling her I had a work trip tomorrow. She didn't suspect anything but insisted on coming with me. I tried to convince her not to, but I couldn't. Rachel and I traveled to Kansas. She couldn't know what I would do.When we landed in the city, I felt nervous. I had the address of the café where Dana worked. Seeing her after all this time made my heart race. I missed her so much, but I fe
Dana I was nervous. Demian uncovered the whole truth. I don't even know how he did it, but I was afraid. What if he took them away from me? Demian was capable of anything. He didn't care about getting his way. Resentment could be seen in his eyes. I wondered if Rachel knew Demian was here because she was specific in telling me it was in my best interest to never speak to Demian again. I broke the pact I made with her, but it was Demian who forced me to do it. I wasn't expecting his visit. The guys went outside to talk. Jeremy didn't allow me to go with them because he wanted to be the one to resolve the issue. However, Demian behaved aggressively, and I feared they might start a fight in the street. My werewolf senses weren't working as they used to. Since I found out about my pregnancy, I've noticed a decline in my senses. I no longer perceived scents and sounds as before. But I managed to hear the conversation between Demian and Jeremy because they both used a loud tone of voic
DanaI watched in terror as Rachel approached me. Her steps were firm and determined.I knew she wouldn't hurt me in front of the police, but I could swear her words would be as poisonous as her intentions to keep me away from Demian. I didn't want to wait for her to reach me, so I moved my legs to walk away. But Rachel grabbed my arm and forced me to turn around."Long time no see, Dana!" she smiled falsely."Let me go, Rachel.""I'm not going to. We need to talk. We have unfinished business to settle because I believe there are promises you haven't kept.""I haven't done anything wrong," I excused myself. "I don't know what you're thinking, but I have nothing to do with Demian. I kept my promise and never sought him out nor did I intend to plead with him. I didn't even try to convince him again that you're a harpy."Rachel squeezed my arm and gritted her teeth."Don't you dare talk to me like that, do you understand?" she said through clenched teeth."I have to go, Rachel. Let me go
Dana Jeremy took my hand. We walked alongside Demian and Rachel. Demian pronounced my name authoritatively, stopping my stride. I turned around to look at him. "What do you want?" I asked. "Don't think it will end like this. I'll come to see you soon. We have unfinished business to deal with," Jeremy said. I looked at him one last time and saw Rachel. I knew her eyes wanted to instill fear in me, and they succeeded. Rachel didn't like that Demian wanted to see me again. I didn't want to add a response, so Jeremy and I went home. We took a taxi. It hurt to leave Demian there. It hurt to leave as if he were a stranger. Demian wasn't a stranger to my heart. My soul bled for not being able to be with him anymore. It had been a while since we parted, and I still didn't feel any improvement in my feelings. I suppose Demian would be a love I could never forget. And there was no one, not even Jeremy, who could take his place and make me feel what Demian did. Jeremy and I arrived home.
DemianI never thought I would come to blows with Jeremy. I didn't even when I found out he had fallen in love with Dana in the past. But seeing them together triggered all my aggressive impulses and my selfish side. I wasn't jealous of them, as I wasn't interested in being with Dana after what she did to me, but I was angry and didn't want to see them together.I knew Jeremy, and I were no longer friends, but this felt like betrayal. He was making a serious mistake and would regret it in the future. I hoped Dana and he wouldn't last in their relationship. I wanted it to end already. The police took us to the police station. I couldn't shake from my mind how Dana looked at Jeremy and told him she would get them out of the station soon. I saw concern in Dana's eyes. What did she feel for him? Was she in love with Jeremy? Did she love him? How did they fall in love?I couldn't stop thinking about Rachel either, as the police allowed me to make a call, and the only person who was there w
