Jake's POV

"She's in very critical condition,"

I nodded my head at the doctor's words. I expected considering the amount of blood she lost. That's right, Felicia is not dead.

When I saw her bloodied body on the floor I thought she was dead. But on getting closer, I saw her hands move. Her breathing was very faint, I knew I had to act fast if not the only chance to find Emily will be lost.

I would have loved to take her to our pack's doctor but her health was too critical to be left unattended. So, unfortunately, I'm still in Cross wood pack, in front of Alpha Hemp, trying to talk to him like the civilized people we both are pretending to be. Normally, we both want to tear each other apart, but now is not the time for that.

"So little boy–"

"It's Alpha Jake to you," I corrected him with a smile I'm sure irked him.

"You have not yet assumed the alpha position so it's safe to say you are still a boy. Besides, what's an alpha without a pack? You and your pack members are more like rouges
