While Leyland’s men and a handful of renegades stopped for the night, Gabriel insisted that he, Killian, and the other renegades that were with us, drive straight through.

My legs ached, and my bottom was numb as I clung to Killian on the back of his bike. I don’t remember it being this uncomfortable when I rode with Gabriel.

I drew in a deep breath recalling the feel of Gabriel Grayson’s torso under my fingers, his scent that encompassed me, and the heat that radiated from him. I was somewhat jealous of his sister, wishing it was me who had my legs wrapped around his, fitting snuggly against his back.

I turn my head leaning on Killian’s back and look out into the clear night sky. I thought of my father, wondering what they could be doing to him. Was he sitting in a cell unable to voice his complaints? How were they treating him? My gut twists when I think that he could be being tortured or beaten. My father was a good man, and the council had taken advantage of the packs.
