LOGINThe moment Rose heard the signal bell of the bakery, a flicker of hope ran across her face. Did God hear her pleas? Did God send Piers to save her, protect her? And then a scary thought came to her mind. What if Piers came in, and the man standing before him would hurt him too?
The man was pushing her, but stopped to look at who entered the bakery. She too had to look; she had to find who came in. Was it a protector or another killer? And her brain stopped working when she saw two men standing in her bakery with guns in their hands. Now she really wanted no one to enter inside. She didn’t want anyone else to get hurt.
When her feet started moving, she realised that the man standing before her was pushing her again, and this time he pushed her near the bathroom. she knew that as long as she was out of the any room that could be locked, she had a chance of running and surviving but if she gets locked in a tiny room, it was sure that she could get harmed or could die.
“Hmmm… hmmm,” she tried shouting, screaming for help, but nothing worked. The man had her mouth shut tightly. He finally pushed her inside the men’s bathroom and made her stand against the wall. The moment he locked the door, she lost every fear. She had to get out, and then she realised that even if her mouth was shut, her hands and legs were free. Why was she not fighting?
She cursed herself and started flailing her hands and slapping the man. She would once try to push him away and then slap him and again push him away. The cycle continued. But the next second, everything stopped. She felt a metal pressed into her waist. She gasped and stopped breathing for a second. She knew what that was. Her eyes went wide, and she kept staring at the man in shock. Did he really enter her shop with a gun, and was now pointing it at her?
The man almost smiled at her when she stopped hitting him and stopped screaming. It was then that she heard the two men outside talking. She was still in a dilemma whether she should be scared of the man standing before her with a gun or scared of the two men standing outside with guns. No matter what she did, she had to face a gun today.
She came to her shop thinking this was the start of the best day of her life. She was there to bake a delicious cake, but now everything was going to be drowned in blood.
The moment the man opened his mouth and asked her to make some sounds, she was puzzled. What was he talking about? He was trying to hide, so why was he asking her to make sounds? Wouldn’t that inform the men outside about his hiding place? What was wrong with him? Her mouth fell open in shock, but no sounds came out.
“Moan! Moan for me!” commanded the man.
The earth slipped from under her feet. “Excuse me!!” she wanted to shout, but what escaped her mouth was a stammering sound, “w… h… at?” Suddenly, his hands were at her neck and pushed her further into the wall. “Ah!” she groaned in pain.
He kept threatening her that he would kill everyone around her if she didn’t moan. Till that moment, her fear, her confusion, her terror, her anxiety, her horror were not letting her look at anything else except that man’s face. But the moment he said the words about harming others, her eyes fell on his arm that was dripping with blood. Her heart jumped out of her chest.
Her heart would ache every time she saw anyone get hurt, and the man standing before her was trying to hide his pain when she could clearly see the blood dripping. Seth always teased her, calling her ‘a saintess’ as she always stopped everything to protect people. She had no idea how she developed this emotion, but if she saw anyone get hurt, she would end up crying.
“You… you… are bleeding!” she gasped. But the man was not interested in her pity. He immediately snapped at her and again roared at her to moan.
The thing was, Rose had no idea how to moan. She had never had sex in her life. Piers had kissed her a few times, but everyone knew that she was saving herself for her marriage day. As she had never experienced what a body feels during sex, how was she going to replicate it?
“I don’t know how,” said Rose. But the man was extremely angry after hearing her excuse. He snapped at her and accused her of lying. To threaten her further, he moved his gun from her waist and pointed it at her forehead. Rose gasped loudly and stopped breathing with fear.
She didn’t want to cry, but her tears started streaming down her face. The man’s eyes softened for a minute, and a plea came out of his mouth, “Please moan! Just do that, and I won’t hurt you, I promise!”
Something in her melted. She realised that the man was just trying to survive. On top of that, he was hurt and bleeding. The saintess’s heart, too, started bleeding. She was on the verge of helping him when he moved his hand towards her lower body and grabbed her skirt.
A chill ran down her spine. She didn’t want that man to touch her. She didn’t want any man to touch her. Only her Piers could do that. She abruptly shouted, “what… are you doing?” She realised that her voice was too loud and the men outside would have heard her.
The man standing before her was sweating profusely, and now she could see the pain and fear in his eyes. The colour of his face was slowly fading. She knew what the blood loss would do to you. He pleaded with her and grabbed his injured arm.
Welcome to my new book. I hope that you will enjoy the story.
Egbert took a deep breath and looked at Kingsley.“He has mobilised his army. He knows he has to follow us. He wants Rose. She saw him. She can put him in jail. She is the only witness. He will do anything to find her. My spies have told me that he is two towns over. He is coming, King, coming for Rose. And if he sees that she looks like Willow, he won’t need a DNA test. He can recognise Willow anywhere. Willow was his obsession, and now Rose will become his obsession. He will do everything in his power to grab her. He is not going to kill her. He will make her fill the hole that Willow left. And you know what that means,” educated Egbert.“But she is famous. She is the Woolridge Princess,” gulped Kingsley with fear. He knew what Egbert meant. Sterling Soto was coming, and he would do everything in his power to make Rose his. He would abuse her, harass her, kidnap her, rape her, torture her, but would never let her leave. She would become his property, and Kingsley was never going to
Kingsley sighed and looked at Egbert. “Please lie down! I will tell you everything. I will even show you her photos. But you have to promise me one thing.”“Anything!” sniffled Egbert.“From now on, you will eat everything, drink everything, take every medicine, no tantrums, no shouting, no yelling or threatening the staff. If you get well, if you take care of yourself and get better, I will bring Rose to you. You can see her, you can touch her, you can hug her, you can kiss her. In the meantime, I will tell you everything our investigation has yielded,” said Kingsley.“Will I like what I am about to hear?” asked Egbert.“A few parts! But the other few parts will make you angry,” said Kingsley and looked at Emerson. Emerson moved near the door and pulled the file from Theo’s hands. He took out the DNA report and handed it to Egbert. He gulped and looked at the piece of paper. His throat felt heavy, and his heart started crying after reading the report. Drop by drop, tears kept falling
Kingsley was ready to walk out of the hospital. Emerson had already informed Doctor Cannon about everything. She protested, but she knew that Kingsley was never going to listen to her. He had asked her to send every paper, every document to Fiona Richardson. Emerson told Ernesta that Fiona would take care of everything and that Kingsley would come back to get his stitches checked.Kingsley’s feet stopped for a minute. He glanced in the direction he knew Rose’s room was. His heart didn’t want to leave her alone. He knew her family was going to keep creating trouble for her again and again. He wanted to keep her safe always.“We will keep an eye on her. Don’t worry!” said Emerson and urged Kingsley to move. They had an important job to do. They had to tell a dying grandfather that they found his granddaughter. The granddaughter he lost so many years ago. He lost his daughter, granddaughter and son-in-law on the same day. His granddaughter couldn’t even attend her mother’s funeral.Kingsl
Seth and Rose kept looking at each other while occasionally glancing at Rose’s phone. Piers was crying and laughing, and suddenly he went silent. He asked her to wait, and then he was gone. Why?But soon the hungry people started storming inside the bakery, and Rose and Seth got busy. They had hired three people to help, so two were in the kitchen with Rose baking everything while Seth and the other person were manning the counters. Fresh, hot, creamy, fluffy doughnuts were being sold within seconds. Rose could not work any faster than the speed at which doughnuts were being sold. The line was long now, and she had no time to even breathe. One helper kept putting the dough under the cutter and was sending everything to Rose to fry. She kept frying batch after batch, and the second helper kept decorating the doughnuts and filling them.A loud commotion was going on outside. Everyone was waiting for doughnuts and pastries and bread and cakes, and Seth was sweating from every orifice, co
The phone rang. Piers was in a meeting. His clients were sitting before him, and he was giving a presentation for a new housing society. He had plans for one BHK, two BHK, duplexes, apartments, a park, proper roads, and green trees all around; all in all, a well-structured society. He even threw in solar panels and rooftop wind turbines, which would help the society reduce the electricity bill and run on renewable energy. The clients were happy with what they had heard till now. But his phone kept buzzing. He glanced at the phone and saw ‘Rose’ on the screen. His eyes lit up with happiness. He was not that happy when he saw his clients being happy with his presentation; he was happier after seeing Rose’s name on his phone’s screen. But now, he had to decide what he was going to do. Should he let Rose’s call go to voicemail or should he pick up the call, putting a hold on the meeting? He sighed when he realised that he was going to choose Rose. She was calling him after days. He was dyi
Piers was ready to storm out of the room in anger when Rose grabbed his hand and stopped him. Both Piers and Seth looked at her as if she had lost her mind.“Rosie?” asked Piers.“Do…n’t!” mumbled Rose.“What? why? You know they are lying. You know what they tried to do last night. Why are you letting them go without any consequences?” snapped Piers.“Yeah, why?” snapped Seth, also.Rose took a deep breath and started typing on the phone. Both Seth and Piers ran up to her head to read while she typed. “They have already given the press conference. Their words are already out. They have their narrative out in the world. If you speak up now, who will believe you? Ursa, Vanessa, all the servants of the house will repeat what Ursa announced just now. Only you and I will give a different narrative. It will be our words against theirs, and by now I am sure that they must have erased the CCTV footage. We have no evidence, no witness. Who will take our side? History remembers the one who got
“Good morning, Miss Woolridge! Bus today?” asked the kind-hearted bus driver with a sweet smile on his face.“Yeah, all the cars were going for maintenance,” replied Rose and climbed into the bus.“You are the only princess I know who takes the bus and runs her own business,” said the driver.“What
Rose stretched her arms and pulled her blanket closer to her neck. She shifted to her side and, while keeping her eyes closed, yawned loudly. She knew she woke up even before her alarm could go off. She was too excited to go back to sleep. All night, she kept dreaming about Piers. She had finally s
Emerson was driving the car and kept giving the reports about patients lying in his car to the doctor.“Maybe the shock was too much. Okay, I will get everything ready. When will you reach?” asked Ernesta.“Five more minutes!” said Emerson and sped up the car. “You know his blood group, right?”“I
Tears could not stop falling from Rose’s face. She had her body thrown over Kingsley’s body. She was surrounded by men with guns in their hands and no way to save or protect Kingsley or herself. All she could do was plead. But would pleading work with heartless gang members? The man standing at the
