Mag-log inALLY’S POV The three men with Leon all reached out their hands to greet me. Only Leon didn’t! I was so stupid for using the name Alice—which sounds so much like my real name. Out of all the names I could have chosen, why did I pick one so similar?! “Nice to meet you, Alice,” his companions said, smiling warmly. My hands were trembling as I shook hands with all three of them. “Are you okay? Your hands are ice cold… and you’re shaking a little,” one of them remarked. “Ah! Hahaha… I’m fine. It’s probably just the wind, and the dress I’m wearing is a bit thin too,” I replied with a forced smile. Leon remained silent, his dark eyes fixed intently on me. Even Mika, who was busy talking to the Mayor, seemed to notice how intensely he was staring. I gripped my handbag tightly and slowly stepped back. I saw Leon move the moment I put distance between us. My nervousness only grew worse. I tried to look toward Mika for help. I stepped back again when I saw Leon’s eyes drop down to my fe
ALLY’S POV I looked toward where the Mayor was standing. I saw Daniel there, together with his doctor friend—the same doctor who helped deliver my son. The men talking to them had their backs turned; they were tall and well-built, and judging by their build and aura, they were probably in their thirties. My gaze landed on the tallest man among them. My lips twisted when I noticed his unusually long black hair—the man standing right in the middle. “It looks like they’ve finished talking. Come on, let’s go greet them,” Mika said beside me. I noticed they were already nodding at each other, signaling the conversation was done. Before I could even tell Mika that I’d just wait for her back at our table, she had already pulled me closer toward them. “Good evening, Mayor,” Mika greeted them brightly. “Oh! My dear, good evening to you too. It’s nice that you were able to come,” the Mayor said, then turned his gaze toward me. “Aren’t you the one who works with her at Dr. Daniel’s coffee
ALLY’S POV “Come on, Alice. You didn’t come to the last fiesta either. You really should go this time. You won’t stay long anyway. We’ll just eat for a little while and then we can go straight home,” Mika kept persuading me. I rolled my eyes involuntarily. “Aha! Now the truth comes out. You’re only forcing me to go to that dance because you have no one else to go with,” I told her. I saw her break into a wide grin. “Please! Just for a little while, Alice. Go out and enjoy yourself once in a while.” I let out a deep sigh and looked back at her. I knew she wouldn’t stop bugging me until I finally said yes. “Fine, fine. But I’m really only staying for a short while, Mika,” I finally agreed. “Yay! I promise, Alice, we really won’t stay long at all,” she said happily and gave me a tight hug. “Alright then. But what’s going on? Why does it seem like the fiesta is extended this year?” I asked while wiping the cups we had dried earlier. She sat beside me and helped me wipe them too.
LEON’S POV “Have you gone completely insane, Leon?! She is NOT Mariel! She is NOT your fiancée!” Mom screamed at me. I just groaned in pure annoyance. We were here inside Dad’s private office in the mansion, and once again, the topic of discussion was Allys. “Mom, please… not again,” I told her, exhausted. “No! Stop searching for her already! What exactly did you even see in that woman, son? She’s nothing but an impostor!” My jaw tightened sharply at her words. “I know exactly what you’ve been doing, Leon! I have been watching you closely these past few months!” Mom accused me further. I looked at her, drained and tired. “What is wrong with that, Mom? I am not neglecting the company or my business! I am doing excellent in all my work.” “I am not talking about your work, Leon. I am talking about this madness you have for that girl!” “Son, we barely even know her. We have no idea where she came from or what her real motives were,” Dad added, speaking calmly while sitting comf
ALLY’S POV Several months have passed, and I still can’t quite believe there is a living, growing life inside my belly. I don’t experience morning sickness or cravings for certain foods—frequent dizziness is the only symptom I’ve had throughout my pregnancy. Every time I go for a check-up, Daniel always comes along with me. There have been moments when his doctor friend would ask if he is the father of my child, seeing how attentive and caring he is toward me. It always leaves me feeling so embarrassed on his behalf. “I am really sorry for all the trouble I’ve caused you, Daniel,” I told him as we were driving home from another appointment. “It’s really nothing, Alice. You know you can always count on me,” he said with a gentle smile, keeping his eyes on the road. “Thank you… truly, from the bottom of my heart.” Before heading home, we stopped by a grocery store to buy things I would need. My tummy has grown quite big now, so I mostly wear loose dresses these days. “Your due da
ALLY’S POV “Congratulations… you are one month pregnant,” the doctor told me happily. I turned to look at Daniel, sitting right beside me. He just stared at me closely, as if carefully weighing and measuring every single reaction I showed. Yesterday, when he first told me I was pregnant, I couldn’t believe it right away. That is why I came here today, to see an OB-GYN and confirm once and for all that it was true. Daniel came along with me because the doctor we were seeing happened to be a close acquaintance of his. “Thank you, Doctor,” I whispered, and without really realizing what I was doing, I stood up and walked out of the clinic room. Daniel spoke briefly with the doctor for a few moments before hurrying out to follow me. “Are you alright, Alice?” he asked with concern, placing a hand gently on my shoulder. Slowly, I removed his hand from my shoulder and kept walking. He seemed to understand my need for space, because he stopped and didn’t follow me any further. I walked
MELDRID POV I quickly followed Leon and hugged him from behind. "Please Leon, spare me this time. You know how I feel about that woman. I don't like her, just like you don't like her either. Please don't be angry with me. Hmmm," I said sweetly as I stroked his hard, broad chest. He didn't speak.
SAMANTHA POV "NO! STOP IT, LEON!" Meldrid shouted. We all watched as Leon dove roughly into the swimming pool just to save Mariel. All the guests were whispering among themselves about what had happened. I shot an angry look at Meldrid, who was still shouting at Leon while he was underwater. "Y
ALLY'S POV"Oh, Leon, hijo. Where have you been and why did you leave Mariel alone? Some other men here might approach her," said Tita Sylvia, which Tita Rovery immediately agreed with."Yes, hijo. Did you know that so many men are attracted to Mariel? I heard that Gustavo's son is crazy about you,
ALLY'S POV"Well....""Mariel!"I was about to speak when we both heard Leon's baritone voice. Bella and I almost simultaneously turned to the source of the voice.I saw him standing not far from us. He was with his friend Zackeriel, and I noticed that he was staring at the woman I was with. They b
