Moving On

Janet never spoke again and just quietly helped Mrs. Josie with cooking the dishes.

"Wait, are you jealous, hija?" Mrs. Josie asked with a mixture of teasing to Janet.

Janet's cheeks immediately blushed because of that question from Gabriel's mother. But she still acted normal in front of her and pretended that it was nothing. She started to wonder to herself now if she was really jealous of the woman Gabriel was talking to at the moment.

"Don't be jealous, hija. I knew my son. He doesn't easily bring a woman here at home unless she's special to him," Mrs. Josie said while holding Janet's shoulder. "Anyway, join us for lunch, huh. I'm cooking a lot of dishes for today."
