ログイン~Esperanza’s POV~My breath caught. Why were they here?My heart started racing instantly.“Diego…” I whispered. He followed my gaze and just like that, everything inside me shifted again. “Stay behind me,” he said, his voice dropping instantly. But I didn’t listen. I couldn’t. Because my mind had already gone somewhere else.If the shoe Liam wore today was here and he wasn't... Did someone come here? What about Asher? “Grandpa?” I called out, my voice louder now. “Mr Raphael?” No response came. “Marie?” I tried again.Still, nothing.Diego called the guards and asked where everyone was but they all stayed mum. Panic settled in faster this time.“Are you all fucking idiots?” Diego yelled at them. “Where is Grandpa and Asher?” I moved through the house quickly, my legs running on their own. Room after room. Hallway after hallway. And for the first time, this huge house felt like a curse instead of a blessing. I ran to the last room in the corner of the house and my legs sto
~Esperenza’s POV~ “Lock the school,” I said, my voice steady despite everything rising inside me. “No one leaves. No one enters. I want every exit covered.” “Yes, ma’am.” The call ended, but the silence around me ate me alive. It turned into a storm I couldn't fight back against. My breath grew heavier. Everything around me felt blurry. My assistant came running to me, telling me about something but I couldn't catch up with her. No words. No sound. No one in front of me made sense to me. My baby… Liam… How the fuck could they lose him? “Esperanza!” I heard Diego’s voice but I couldn't see where he was. My head was spinning and my breath came out like I was in my last moments. “Breath!” He shook my shoulders. “We are going to find him. Come with me.”My eyes were still blurry, but my legs moved on their own. Such a huge thing had already gone wrong and I was just catching up to it.I should've been there to pick him up. How could I appoint someone for my kid’s safe
~Esperanza’s POV~ The drive to the lawyer’s office felt longer than it actually was. Not because of the distance. But because of the silence between us. Diego didn’t say much after the call. He didn’t need to. I could feel it. That shift in him. The same one I had started noticing more often now. Calm on the outside. But already moving ten steps ahead in his mind. Already planning. Connecting the dots. And anticipating all the possible situations in his head. My fingers rested lightly over my belly, my thoughts refusing to settle on one thing. Lives were at stake and if anyone by any chance found out about the life that was growing in my belly, we would be more doomed than we already were. I just hope whatever my lawyer has found out will give us direction and we’ll be able to end this all for once and all. As we reached the lawyer’s office, a smile appeared on my face. Mr Jones’s office was just as I remembered it. Minimal. Organised. Everything in its place
~Esperanza’s POV~ This day wasn't just another day in our lives. It was full of laughter, bright smiles, and words that were never heard before. Since Asher went to bed too late, he stayed up all night. And since Diego was over the moon, he sat beside him and played with him till he took ten yawns. Now, it was six thirty in the morning and Diego and Asher were awake again, playing in the pool with Liam before he took off for school. In just a few hours, Diego has taught Asher to say love you and mama perfectly. He also knows now, how to fist-bump and blow a kiss. My hands went to my belly. I’m gender neutral and I'll love my baby no matter the gender, but after seeing three boys having utmost fun in their lives, I badly want this baby to be a girl. At least then I would be able to live all my desires with her as a girl mom. My lips curved slightly as I watched them. There was something so… effortless about the way Diego blended into their world. He wasn’t just playing
~Esperenza’s POV~ I don’t like to play my cards in the dark. If I'm doing something against anyone, I will own it. Because unlike my enemies, I know I'm not doing it to take anyone’s life. Neither would anyone be able to prove it by any means. Layla sat on the chair, surrounded by our men. My eyes travelled over each of them during the video call, and I took a breath. They were all the ones that Rowlands trusted with their lives. Nobody will dare to cross us in the game which was about to begin. I noticed the slight bleeding on Layla’s right thumb and my brows furrowed, she wasn't supposed to get hurt. “What happened to your thumb?” I asked her. “It’s not that you are actually concerned about me,” She said in a low voice. “Though I don't want you to get harmed,” I answered calmly. “That’s not part of the plan.” She squinted at me, and I smiled. It's not easy for her to trust me after what happened with her sister. But I was actually telling the truth. “I… I have a
~Esperenza’s POV~ Everyone said that one slight scratch or evil eye on your blood becomes a life threat to the parent. But it was so wrong in my case. Not only did my blood, but my heart raced in my chest like it was in its last moments before stopping forever for the son whom I didn't even know two months back. Just like Asher, Liam also has me wrapped around his tiny fingers. And if anything… Anything happens to him, even the slightest thing, I lose my composure and start running everywhere. This isn't how I thought my motherhood would be. For sure, it was supposed to be hectic, full of responsibilities and chaos, but not fearful. All thanks to my ex-husband for giving me the scars and trauma. For giving me fear and insecurities that I still couldn't leave behind. We were on our way home. I talked to Liam. Saw Asher on the video call playing with Liam and Marie, but still the thudding drums of my heart didn't become normal. My head was still throbbing and my fing
~Esperanza's POV~ I gripped my phone tightly. The live stream played seamlessly on it, Diego talking flawlessly about how much he loves being with me. "I don't care what lies the world tells, Esperanza is my wife, and she'll always be," He said in a tone that he uses when he declares his fi
~Esperanza's POV~ I was in a position I didn't expect to be. His arm was wrapped around my waist. My back was against the mattress as he hovered over me. "You need to sleep..." I whispered, holding myself together. "Just... Just tell me..." His warm breath fanned on my face. "Promise me you wo
~Esperanza's POV~I watched his every move around Liam. He was so careful and gentle, talking with so much ease as if it all came naturally to him. Liam couldn't loosen up in front of me. But with Diego, he instantly let his body soften. When Diego held his hands, he cried. When Diego hugged hi
~ Esperanza’s POV~ The house was too quiet for a place this big. Not silent… Just the kind of quiet that lets you hear every thought you are trying to run away from. I sat on the rug with my back resting against the couch, Asher between my legs, his tiny fingers wrapped around one of Liam’s t
