Kayla calmly finished helping him clean his injury even though her head was kind of conflicted because she kept thinking about what he said. She was wondering why he even put such a thing in her head all of a sudden because she never realized that she liked him this much until he asked her the question, and she found herself unable to answer him.

After a while she was finally done helping him clean his injury, but instead of allowing her to go, he held onto her hands while looking at her face.

“I am tired of pretending not to want you.” Kayla opened her eyes wider than normal when she heard what he said to her while holding her hands. There was a very strong silence in the midst of both of them because her heart was beating very fast, knowing that he felt the same way she felt about him, but she was still unable to tell him because she didn't have that much confidence to let him know how she felt about him.
