The war was over, and the acrid smell of blood filled the air. Bodies of soldiers and the ashes of the dead were scattered across the battlefield. Queen Zenobia stood at the center, her gaze fixed on the tomb of the evil lord Kal, the architect of this catastrophe.
Zenobia's body was covered with wounds, but she felt no pain—the ache in her heart was stronger than the ones from her wounds. In this battle, she had lost everything. Her family, her loved ones, and countless brave warriors had sacrificed their lives. Innocent citizens had been slaughtered. The once vibrant city that looked like a heaven on earth, had been reduced to a graveyard by one man's desire for power.
Blood still dripped from the sword in Zenobia's hand as she stared at the tomb. Around her, people mourned their lost loved ones, yet there was a bittersweet relief that the war had ended.
Only she knew that this was not the end but a brief pause. She had sealed Kal in the tomb for now, but it was not permanent. She had to prepare for the day he would rise again.

*500 Years Later In the Land of Humans…*
"Guys, I can't wait for tomorrow. I'm so excited—college is finally starting!" Vickey exclaimed.
Lily rolled her eyes. "Says the one who's always absent from classes."
"Hey, what's your problem? College isn't just about those boring classes. I'm talking about the freshers arriving tomorrow. I can't wait to see the new hotties joining this year. I'm definitely finding a girlfriend this time."
Smack!
"Ouch! What the hell, Lily? How dare you hit me like that?"
"Just trying to bring you back to reality," Lily retorted.
Vickey glared. "What? Do you all think I can't get a girlfriend?"
Jude laughed. "Chill, dude. It's better to accept reality than be heartbroken later. You've been here for two years and haven't managed to keep a girl for even a day, and you're talking about a girlfriend?"
"What the hell—"
Alex joined in, "Okay, let's deal with tomorrow when it comes. Anyway, how are any of us going to get a girlfriend with our two college princes around?"
Rayan shrugged. "Dude, leave me out of it. Whether they accept it or not, I'm already taken, and no one else has a place in my heart."
"Yeah, he's mine," Ria chimed in, sharing a sweet kiss with Rayan.
"Yeah, okay, we get it. Stop being so lovey-dovey in front of us. Have some mercy on us singles," Jude said, laughing.
Alex nodded. "It's known that Rayan is taken, but that doesn't solve the problem. We still have Liam."
Liam smirked. "Stop pretending, Alex. As if girls don't swoon over you. Do you know how many hearts you broke when you and Sharen became a couple? And as for those girls, it's not my fault I'm so charming. None of them are my type, and I've got better things to do. I'm not interested in getting caught up in this love business. It's great being a free bird."
Jenny grinned. "Playboy, enjoy your freedom while you can. Guys like you fall the hardest when they fall in love."
Alex laughed. "Yep, so true. Be careful, Liam."
Liam draped an arm over Alex's shoulder. "I can't disagree with you, sir. You're the biggest example."
Laughter echoed around them.
Lily raised an eyebrow. "By the way, when is Sharen coming back?"
Alex sighed. "Not sure. The last time I spoke to her, she said she was still tied up with work assigned by her father and hadn't made a breakthrough yet."
“Louis? Cassy” Elena breathed, as Liam walked up to his brother and sister-in-law for a hug.Liam let go of his brother and asked, still a bit surprised “What… what are you both doing here?”Louis chuckled, his eyes crinkling at the corners “Surprise, I suppose, my dear little brother.” Then Louis turned back to support his wife towards the dining table.Cassandra gave a gentle smile as she stepped forward her voice light and gentle “I hope we’re not too late for breakfast?”He guided Cassandra forward a few more steps, his hand protectively at the small of her back as if shielding her from any stray gust of wind, even within these sun-warmed walls. Cassandra’s free hand rested on her belly, her soft laugh echoing warmly in the bright gallery.Elena stepped out of her place at this moment and walked to Cassandra, her astonishment melting into a radiant smile as she gently hugged Cas
As the sun climbed steadily across the sky, the spires of Asterin’s royal palace finally came into view, glittering like a crown upon the cliffs that overlooked the emerald forests and silver rivers below. The three riders guided their dragons into a smooth descent, the massive wings stirring the morning mist into dancing swirls above the palace gardens. With a final beat of powerful wings, Aragon, Onyx, and Sapphire touched down gracefully just beyond the palace gates.Elena dismounted lightly, giving Sapphire’s scaled snout an affectionate pat. As soon as her feet touched the marble path, a soft ripple of magic danced over Sapphire’s body. The massive white dragon’s body started shrinking, scales giving way to pale skin, wings dissolving into a cascade of her silver hair until a young girl stood beside Elena. Sapphire adjusted the silver clasp on her cloak and fell into step behind her master without a word, her eyes scanning the surroundings.
Edward found himself running—running as if the earth beneath him might vanish if he stopped even for a heartbeat. His breaths came ragged and hot in the cold, misty air of the unfamiliar place. In his arms, little Aisha clung to him, her tiny hands fisted into the fabric of his tunic, her soft sobs muffled against his shoulder. She couldn’t have been more than three—light as a feather, precious as life itself.Behind him, there were shadows with voices, shapes that flickered at the edge of his vision but never resolved into faces he could name. Their footfalls were a relentless echo chasing him down winding stone paths and half-formed streets that twisted like a nightmare.Edward didn’t look back. He couldn’t. Every thought in his mind was a single, pulsing word: Run.His legs burned. His head throbbed. Aisha whimpered something he couldn’t make out over the pounding in his ears. Then, out of the chaotic noise behind hi
Two days later, early in the morning Elena, Liam and Rayan said their goodbyes to Elena’s family and mounted their dragons and took to the skies flying in the direction of Asterin. The wind rushed past them, cool and sharp, as the world beneath shrank into a patchwork of forests and rivers. From atop his dragon, Onyx, Rayan turned his head slightly, voice raised over the whistling wind “So…” he called out, a grin tugging at his lips “once we reach Asterin, where are you two lovebirds headed too?”Liam, riding just ahead on Aragon’s sleek back, glanced over his shoulder “First stop is the royal palace, we promised Uncle Edward we’d spend some time with him after the engagement” He paused briefly before continuing, “After that… we’re heading to Solmara City.”“Oho?” Rayan said, drawing the word out in mock curiosity “So it’s time for the grand introduction
Vincent’s eyes flicked toward the cracked tomb in the distance, and the easy camaraderie in his face hardened “I figured as much. You felt it too, didn’t you? This crack appeared suddenly out of nowhere a few days ago and we have been trying to close it since then.”Vincent let out a deep sigh as he continued “It is not only not closing, but also starter leaking dark energy since some time before. We tried to contain the energy that came out of it but we could not. Not completely.”“I understand” Elena said “And that’s why came here. To have a look at the situation myself.”Vincent gave a grim nod, the lines of his face tightening as he turned toward the heart of the settlement “Then you’ve come just in time. The energy leaking from the tomb isn’t just growing—it’s spreading, corrupting. Even the stones beneath our feet.”He began to walk, and Elena follo
A heavy silence hung over the dark forest, thick as tar and just as suffocating. Twisted trees loomed like sentinels, their gnarled limbs clawing at the air. What little moonlight filtered through the dense canopy above cast fractured shadows on the forest floor—shadows that seemed to shift and twitch with a life of their own.At the heart of this dark forest, Elena and Sapphire stood before a cave mouth half-swallowed by the roots of an ancient tree. The air was colder here, unnaturally so, and carried the metallic tang of something long dead.Elena inhaled slowly to compose herself, then she stepped into the yawning darkness without hesitation. Sapphire followed in silence, her eyes flickering with unease. As they ventured deeper, the world behind them faded into nothingness. The cave walls narrowed, the air grew damp and suffocating. When they finally reached what appeared to be a dead-end, Elena raised her hand and placed her palm against the cold stone. She
