"Why? You don't like it?" Liam asked with a frown on his face.
"Have you looked around you? For the past some time when we were standing near the admin block all the girls around have been throwing daggers at me. It's like they want to strangle me to death given the chance," Lea said with a small smile on her face. Hearing her words Liam just started laughing as they walked toward the class. The corridor was empty as it was near the library and it was almost time for class. "Hearing him laugh Lea stopped walking and said, what are you laughing at ha? I am just stating the truth here. Do you know how difficult it was for me to keep myself composed till now?" Lea added. Liam stopped laughing moved closer to her and looked directly into her blue eyes which were as deep as the ocean for a few seconds and asked her "So you think I am attractive?" with a smile on his face. Lea gulped in some saliva at the proximity at which they were standing. His masculine scent mixed with a flavor of mint coming from him smelled so good. She could not think straight as she looked back at his face which had such definite features, his silky black hair, and his black eyes which looked like a black hole that was sucking in all her ability to think. She blurted out "I di...I did not mean that..". "Stop distracting me and trying to change the topic" she spoke in one go and turned towards the other side. She knew her face would have become red like a tomato now. She felt embarrassed. "What just happened to her she never behaved like this..." Lea thought. On the other side Liam scolded himself in his mind "I came here with her to find out the truth but what am I doing? If she is not who I think she is I can't get attracted to her like this".
Then to lighten the atmosphere he just started laughing again moving away from her then made her turn towards him and said "I am sorry". He said "You don't have to worry about those stupid girls, they are just jealous of you. I don't speak much with the other girls except for my friends and a few in college. You just came today and I am being so friendly with you that they are not able to digest it as they have tried a lot to get close to me in the past". "Is it so? Why the special treatment to me then" Lea asked. She had calmed herself now. "I don't know exactly but probably because of the way we met each other," many other thoughts were running in his mind now but he could not say those to her as they had just met each other and he had to find his answers. Both just smiled at each other and walked silently toward the class. ---Time flew by, and before anyone knew it, it was already the weekend—the day of the 'Grand Phoenix' event.
The event took place at the 'Green Hell' racecourse, one of the top five best and most dangerous racetracks globally. Many records had been broken and made on this track.
Lea arrived early to oversee the arrangements, with Liam accompanying her under the guise of helping. In reality, he wanted to learn more about her to confirm his assumptions.
After speaking with the event manager, Lea joined Liam in the stands, who was lost in thought, gazing at the tracks.
"What are you looking at so seriously?" Lea asked as she sat down beside him, offering him a bottle of orange juice.
Liam accepted the bottle, replying, "Nothing... These tracks reminded me of an old memory."
"You've been here before?" Lea inquired.
"Yes, many times. This is one of my favorite places. Whenever my mind is a mess and I need to process things, I come here," Liam explained. "The first time I came here, I was almost hit by a car."
"What?" Lea exclaimed.
Elizabeth’s hand trembled as it reached out across the table, tears in her eyes “Then why… why didn’t you say anything?”Elena looked down a bit guilty “Because I was scared,” she admitted, voice low but unwavering “Not of the truth. I had accepted that. But I was scared of hurting all of you again if I might have died in that war, I did not want you to go through the loss of losing a daughter again. After we survived, I just did not know how to tell this.”Then she turned to Henry, her eyes soft “You found me when I had no one. You raised me, loved me as your own. I couldn’t bear the thought of you thinking you weren’t enough. I could not bare to imagine how you would feel if I were to tell you I know I am not your daughter.”Henry blinked rapidly, struggling to keep his composure “You… you are my daughter. In every way that matters, Elena.”“I know,” she whispered, her voice breaking slightly “And I am yours” as those words were uttered Henry walked up to Elena had hugged her tightl
Four Months Later…All Five Kingdoms had healed from the aftermath of the war, and slowly but surely, life had returned to normal. Markets bustled, festivals resumed, and peace reigned for the first time in what felt like an age.In Alynthia’s royal palace, the grand dining hall sparkled with warmth and light. Golden candelabras flickered gently, casting dancing shadows across the walls carved with centuries of history. The long oak table was filled with delicious platters—roasted pheasant, sweet-glazed fruits, spiced bread, and wines aged for decades.Elena, Liam and his family, Edward Elizabeth and Alina were all present there today enjoying a happy dinner. While Henry sat at main seat on one end of the dining table, Edward sat on the other end having a happy conversation. At Henry cleared his throat. The room slowly quieted. He set down his goblet and rose slightly, voice steady and measured “Edward and I have something very important to discuss with Elena today,” he began, his gaz
Back in the Wastelands…The sky above raged in torment, swirling with storm and shadow as Kal descended slowly, arms raised, drinking in the chaos he had wrought across the Five Kingdoms. Screams echoed in the wind. The land cracked beneath his feet. And yet—there was defiance still.Elena and Liam stood side by side, battered, bloodied, but unbroken.Elena’s divine light flickered with strain, the wound on her arm poisoned, her breath uneven. Liam’s grip on his blade was tight despite the blood trailing from his side. But their eyes blazed with fury and purpose.Kal hovered just above them, darkness coiling around his body like a second skin. His smile was cold, victorious.“You should kneel, and give up Zenobia…” Kal growled, his voice reverberating like thunder “This is mercy. Accept it, and I’ll let you live as shadow in my world.”“I’d rather die fighting then do that” Liam spat.Elena stepped forward, her golden aura reigniting as she raised her sceptre “And I’d rather burn than
Kal disengaged, spinning midair and hurling a dozen obsidian shards toward her. She deflected them with a circular barrier of light but one of them broke through, slicing her arm.“Elena!” Liam shouted, but she waved him off “I’m fine!”Kal landed, shadows coiling around him like a cloak, the ground beneath him cracking with every step “You’re not ready for what I’ve become. You think I am still the same as when you locked me in that tomb centuries ago? No darling you are wrong, I am more powerful than what I was before. Now I have become the god of darkness, who is ging to reshape this world. And you can’t stop me.”Elena’s eyes narrowed “Then I’ll burn this god nothingness today.”She raised her sceptre high, and the sky parted above her. A beam of divine energy, brilliant and blinding, struck down upon her, wrapping her in gold and white light. The divine light around Elena pulsed like a dying star, radiant, powerful.Kal sneered, stretching out his arms as the earth beneath him cr
Liam’s grip on his sword tightened, but Elena raised a hand, stepping forward.“Stop it,” she said coldly, her voice shaking not with fear, but fury “You don’t get to rewrite the past, Kal.”His expression flickered, amused “Rewrite it? Zenobia, I lived it. You and I — we were meant to be. We grew-up together, trained together, shared happiness and sadness together. You confided in me, trusted me… How could you not see what was between us?”“Because there was nothing between us,” she snapped “I have told you before, I am telling you again now, you were just my friend — a friend I once trusted wholeheartedly. That’s all you ever were to me until you betrayed me.”The wind howled around them as Kal’s smile vanished.“You’re lying,” he whispered, a crack forming in his voice “You felt something. You must have. I gave you everything — I burned kingdoms for you!”“No,” Elena said, voice hard as steel “You didn’t burn them for me. You burned them because you couldn’t stand that I loved some
Elena guided Sapphire into a sharp dive. Liam and Aragon followed immediately, descending through the crimson mist. The moment their feet hit the ground, the energy in the air pushed against them, thick and oppressive, vibrating with an unnatural rhythm. As Elena and Liam’s her eyes scanned the fallen soldiers for signs of life, a sharp cry made them both turn, Master Kai Von stumbled out from behind a half-collapsed boulder, one arm clutching his side, blood running between his fingers. His usually pristine robes were torn and scorched, his aura flickering like a candle in a storm.“Master!” Elena rushed to him, catching him just as he dropped to his knees.“Elena…” he rasped, barely able to lift his head “I am sorry… we… we could not stop him.”Elena steadied him, her arms tightening around his shoulders as Liam knelt beside them, his eyes scanning Master Kai’s injuries.“Don’t speak,” Elena said, voice fierce but trembling “Save your strength. We’re here now. We’ll finish this war
