I felt exhausted. The day had been long, and I had been given so much information I felt that my brain would burst at any moment. As dire as the situation with Tenebris may seem, I had now been given some small measure of hope with a name and location of someone who may be able to help. All I needed now was to follow the lead Estelle had given me and hope that it led somewhere in the realms of helpful.

I had stopped in with the children on my way to bed. I had made a habit of being there to read a bedtime story and help get them settled for the night. It was my small piece of normal amongst what was otherwise a very abnormal life.

Teddy especially liked being tucked in at night. And the twins enjoyed cuddles.

By the time I finally found myself falling into bed, I was beyond exhausted. My back ached, and my feet were beginning to swell with having been on them most of the day. Pregnancy, it has to be said, was hardly as glamourous as I was led to believe when I was younger,
