After being gone for so long things have changed "Is five years too long ?" I ask Shiva, my wolf.

Shiva:" far too long I say" in an aggravated voice.

Well, duty noted visit home more I said to myself as I'm driving down the street to my aunt's and uncle's house to surprise my twin sisters for their 18th birthday. Baby sisters to be exact and it's been a while since the last time I saw my Aunt Ellen and Uncle Benny's house that was in my review mirror. Since then I have grown up to women that's head-on straight (most of the time)and didn't give a shit what anybody thought about me. Pulling up to the driveway taking in the awe of the house as I'm getting out of the car. The place hasn't changed a bit, I ring the doorbell to my aunt saying " hold on just a minute!" Her sweet voice called over.

Just as soon she opens the door she screams to the top of her lungs. I could mentally see shiva covering her ears from the scream the came for her. She pulled me into a big hug and I returned the same hug. My uncle comes running out of the room to see " what wrong ? " hearing the panicking in his voice. His face broke out into this chester cat smile when he saw me "Katrina we didn't know would come home for the girl's birthday , yes we expect to phone call or video call ". I shrugged "I couldn't miss their 18th I knew it was coming up months ago " I said as we walked over to the couch "and knew it was important to them that I be here" I took off my jacket before sitting down and heard a gasp escape my aunt's mouth. I whipped my head around to her failing to mention that I have a tattoo that covers my full-back and both of my arms, from my shoulders to my hands. It was of my wolf overlooking the night sky from a waterfall high up looking at the moon. I grinned inwardly forgetting to tell them about this. Looking at them, surprisedly either didn't say anything.

"I love it, it's very beautiful dear," my aunt said. I replied saying"Then you would love the one down my leg " pointing to my right leg, but it couldn't be seen because I'm in legging today. My uncle just shook his head at her gasping expression, We sat down and talked a little while about the party that's going to be at the packhouse this Friday night until then I'm hiding out at my parent's old house for two days since it's empty. I Tell them bye as I'm getting in the car, I'm driving off halfway home shiva says " see I told you that they have missed you shouldn't be so scared to talk to them some time it could help "I signed" I know, I'm just not ready yet "I replied as I'm pulling up to my old house. " Home sweet home," she says to me " Yep home," I said as I'm getting my bags from my car. Walking up to the doorsteps I remember the key was under this plant my mother keeps on the front porch in case we forgot our keys.

I open the door dropping my bags to walk inside nothing has changed since we left beside the dust that's been collecting for some time. I go over to the light switch to see if it comes on "Nothing " I huff. " Well I guessing take-out is for dinner by candlelight tonight," shiva said" I guess so " I replied walking over to the kitchen to check and if water was on too, thank the heavens it was working. Leaning my back to the sink and all my fun memories come flooding my mind as I'm looking around I see a red stain on the countertop from where we had painted a birdhouse and forgot to put the newspaper down. I pull my phone out of my pocket to call my uncle to tell him about the electricity when I saw a text from my best friend Cheryl " Hey call me when you get settled" I texted her back "Just made it to my house, bad news no light tonight's "with a sad emoji face. "Well you better go find you some candles before it gets dark," she said "hopefully my uncle get someone tomorrow to come over to take a look. I'm saving my battery ttyl " I replied sitting my phone on the counter.

The next ping was my uncle was letting me know about the lights" The electrician we'll be there at 9 am " Ugh I said knowing that I'm not a morning person " Okay thanks " I replied. Walking out the kitchen to the stairs looking up at wall going up the stairs remembering all the pictures that hung there, walking into my old room seeing that the same furniture was still here, but bare walls remembering that majority of my things were at my aunt and uncle house when I and the girls moved in. Sitting down on the mattress thinking " Where the hell are those candles ?" I thought " under your bathroom counter," Shiva said to me " remember when we would come back once a year and spend the night," she said making me remember I would leave candles where they were killed every year until I left. 

After finding the candles and ordering dinner for tonight I was exhausted. Laying on the couch dozing off right before the back door swing open, I jumped up getting in the defense stand, shiva was ready to kill whomever it was. Then I realized the door was unlocked and the harsh wind blew it open like so. " Someone is on edge " shiva pointed out to me "well you are too," I said when a loud knock came from the front door " Pizza delivery! " He yells. Closing the back door quickly to run to the front door yelling back " coming hold on " opening the door to step into the porch to hand the cash to him telling him to keep the change and closing the door and sitting back on the couch I felt like something was starting to make my wolf pace a little while I ate. " What is wrong with you ??" I asked " I don't know just have a feeling I can shake," she said " whatever it is can you calm down tonight we need all the rest we can tonight busy day tomorrow," I said "yeah yeah I know " was the last thing I heard her say before slipping to the back of my mind.

Going up the stairs to the bathroom to dress for bed, after finishing in the bathroom by candlelight I dressed in an old wore out t-shirt that fell mild thigh and a black bra and panties. Pulling my long light brown curly hair up in a high bun on top of my head making it look like a pineapple. With the moonlight shining in the window, my skin glowed like a honey color making my green eye and large tattoos look different, and out of place due to the fact that I'm five seven. Taking a looking at myself in the mirror thinking how I have changed physically and mentally, before crawling into bed saying to myself in a whisper " I Katrina Devon shield nightmares from my mind and welcome a peaceful night's slept" I finish the spell before falling into a peaceful night of sleep. 

The next morning I hear knocking at the front door looking at my phone for the time "9:00 am...... Shit !" I said jumping up from my bed putting on my shorts before running down the stairs to the door. Opening the door to see a man that's looking to be mids 50's and 6'0 ft tall with salt and pepper hair cut short " Hi I'm John your uncle Benny call me yesterday about an electric problem " he said, after showing him where the fuse box as I ran upstairs to shower and change to meet my aunt at a coffee shop in the town center. Changing into a white shirt, faded jeans, and worn-out chucks Taylors I went to see John tell him I leaving and to call me with updates. Hopping into my truck I get a text from my aunt " Meet me at Rivers Coffee House on main st "I replied " Ok" I have been driving for about 10 mins went feel shiva starting to stir awake " Good Morning sleepy head " I say to her in a joyful voice just to make her roll her eye at me " Don't worry we're going to get some coffee, then after that, you will be in a better mood". "So what did aunt want to talk about so early in the morning anyway ?" she asked "Just going over the last-minute things and how I'm going to surprise Jeanie and Jade at the party," I told her as I'm pulling into a parking space. Walking into the coffee house my wolf howled at the smell of coffee in my head, after ordering my mocha latte and finding a table waiting for aunt ellen to arrive I catch this faint scent of something that I can't even describe, but just as quickly as it came it left a few seconds later my aunt walks in " Sorry dear were you waiting long ?" she asked me sitting down in the chair across from me " No ma'am just got here " I said she smile at me grabbing my hand from across the small table " We're so happy you came home, we missed you having you around " she told me as tears started to the forum in her eyes and can sense the general sadness coming from her." I missed you guys too "I did living halfway across the world in a different country by yourself its gets alonely, yea video calling is great but it compares to nothing when you see them in person .

An hour later I get a text from John saying everything is done and working, before he left the house placed the extra key back where it was before . I helped my aunt with her last-minute errands helping her load all of it into her SUV I gave her a hug bye. I walked around the town center for 15 minutes I stopped in this little dress shop to get something to wear tomorrow night walking in to see a red satin dress in the corner on a mannequin as I'm looking at the dress leaves very little the imagination do to the fact that it only would cover my breast leaving the back and arms exposed with two slits going up the side to the hip bone showing a lot leg. Looking at the dress I didn't see the cashier walk up to me " This dress will look amazing on you " she said standing next to me, she looked to about in her 40's with dark brown hair and pale skin tone and was a little shorter than me." Here go try it on" she said taking it off the mannequin walking over to a dressing room hanging up for me " Thank you " I replied. Stripping down out of my clothes I had on to my underwear and putting the dress on, I realized I couldn't wear a bra with the way it cut, after removing my bra the fit was perfect but the fact was that I have what you call a coke bottle shape, the cashier was right I looked amazing. " You know this is the kind of dress you wear when you meet our mate," shiva said " and I still would wear it meeting our mate or not " repiling with a smart answer, with that she shook her head. Walking back to the register to buy the dress, some shoes, and jewel pieces handing everything to the cashier "Great choice" she said.

After I left the shop I decided to go to the local market before heading home. Thinking about what to cook tonight once inside going down the pasta side" Spaghetti and meatballs?" shiva asked " Sounds yummy " I said. Walking to the counter when I found everything I needed as I'm leaving I see the last people I don't wish to see walking in my direction were Sarah Ann Taylor, Bobby Jackson, and Tyler Scotts. Praying that they don't see me I hide my face in my hair a little and thank the goddess they didn't because I wouldn't be able I talk to anybody today" What about all day tomorrow? you have to see all of your pack tomorrow and talk to them too ? " shiva said making me more nervous then I already was. Heading back to my car my phone ping looking its a text from Cheryl " hey Micheal has been asking around about you since you left, I didn't tell him where or when you left town " "SHIT !" I mentally cursed " He wouldn't travel this far to look for us," shiva said stating the fact that he wouldn't. Micheal was someone I thought I could trust and love even if I knew he wasn't my mate I still knew I have someone that the moon goddess made for me. Putting the thought aside I text her back " thanks im call you when getting home ". Arriving home putting the food and my dress away I called and talk Cheryl before starting dinner, talking to her always clears my head especially after what she told me earlier. " Trina dear I wouldn't worry about him," she said to me knowing I would be " Micheal is the last person on my mind right now " telling her " Okay if he not then who or what is on your mind," she asked and to be truthful every damn thing got me on edge since I got here "it's like the air here is different, like a haze a little .... I don't know girl" I hear silences from her end " well ... hun I wouldn't try to worry about it," she finally says " well I'm get started on my dinner " telling her goodbye and staring dinner and answering emails when is my next online class from my dance website. Yes, I know this a weird job profession, but it pays the bills and that is all that matters to me. After sitting down eating and downing a glass of wine, I get a text from my aunt " be at the packhouse @10 am " great I bit my bottom lip throwing my dish in the sink " I have a nail appointment at that time " I told her because I almost forgot . " ok be here by noon then " she said " ok" throwing my phone on the counter to clean up the kitchen before heading to my room. 

Finally making it up to my room to the bathroom to start a hot bath because the way I feeling right now I need one, after lighting a candle stripped down since the bathtub was full. Once I sit down I instead relax feeling all the problem melt away, for now, I decided to try to relax a little more by using my fingers on that sweet spot between my legs, and yes I'm still a virgin but I have not problem pleasuring myself when I need to. I turn back around continuing to look out over the lake seeing the moon reflecting on the water, and fresh smell from the lake water hit my nose, but there was a smell with it all of a sudden I closed my eyes as the smell of citrus wood and cinnamon filled my nose and I looked around again and seen a large shadow figure standing on the other side of the lake looking directly at me. It scared me to the bone but a feeling of desire washed over me when I saw this person and form the outline of the figure was a man. Before I could get a better look I was pulled out of my dream by an alarm going off, getting up I realize I was sweating "What the hell was that about ?" I thought to myself get out of the bed heading to the shower " Not what but who was that " Shiva said " Great, the last thing I need to be dreaming about a man right now "I said turning the water on and stepping inside letting the warm water hit me. After showering I dress in legging and a fairly large shirt and flip flops I pulled my hair to a low ponytail I head down to the kitchen to cook some eggs, bacon, toast, and a cup of coffee. Finishing my food and coffee I feel shiva stir awake hearing someone at the front door she ears stand up to listen, I smelled the air realize by the smell it was John before he knocked I open the door " Hey I stopping by to see if everything was ok last night ? I did text you this morning telling you I was coming by " he said " Did I catch you at a bad time?" he asked " No I was just finishing up breakfast and everything workings great thank you so much "I told him with a smile on my face and I was really glad he was available last minute. We talked a few minutes then he left I walked back into the house cleaned the kitchen gripped my bag and was out the door in the car heading to the appointment. The whole drive I was trying to make sense of last night's dream because I don't dream often so when I do I try to figure it out " What do you think that dream meant ?" I asked shiva thinking she might know what it meant. " I have no idea " she replied not that I was hoping she would, I arrived at the nail shop on time walking in and up to the front desk girl " Hi I'm here for my 10 o clock," I said to her " follow me " sounding like she didn't want to be here this morning. My nails were finished drying and I loved the nude color I choose, when they were dry I walked over to the pedicure chair taking my flops off another woman walks in and sits in the chair next to me.

" Well I will be damned I thought I might have heard a rumor you were back didn't think it was true "I heard someone says to me standing next to my chair. Looking up at who it was, I was shocked it was Gina my best friend growing up here, I froze up and just looked at her face I finally said " Well I guess the rumor is true then "I shrugged. "Welcome home then, and I missed you," she said leaning into a hug, before sitting in her chair. " Where have you been for the last 5 yrs". she asked " A little bit of everywhere " I replied, she chuckled " Well I'm glad one of us did "I nodded. We talked till our toes were done she told me that was going to the birthday party tonight I told her that the girls don't know I'm here and it was a surprise, I looked at my toes nail color I got them the same color as my nails. Walking to the counter to pay and we walked out to our cars exchanging numbers and byes walking back to my car getting in and driving off Shiva spoked" She understands more than you think Trina ". " I know, and glad I knew she was not the type to judge someone off of one action, unlike everyone else talking about me I heard from the girls over the years, " I said " Yea, and word of advice for today just ignore everyone today and just help out "I winced and said "OK" driving up to the gate to the packhouse. After passing the gate and two minutes pulling up to the large bricks mansion with a ton of balloons tried to the long wooded banisher and streamer as well and all rays of colors. When I parked my car and got out and walked inside the newly remodeled house the sand beige colored walls, dark color furniture, and few pictures that hung in that room, I walked around until I found my aunt in a room filled with balloons helping blow up a balloon with the helium pump. She was talking to women with black short hair and about 5'4 with a petite build, I can tell that she worked in the pack main office by the clothes she wore. As soon I entered the room she turned around and looked at me from head to toe as I walked in on her way out the door she slightly bumped into me and rolled her eyes in passing. I just shook my head thinking what is her problem, "Hey Auntie whats her eating her ?" said pointing in the direction she left " The Alpha told her to help with anything we need today, so I just ask her to go pick up somethings from the store that I missed "I laughed " Clearly you must have missed a lot of things " I said she just shrugged her shoulders walking back to the helium tank. " Is there anything you need me to help with because it's starting to look like a madhouse in here?" I said jokingly "I need you to go to the kitchen and help Ms. James out with the food?" she said "It would be faster too "I looked at her and nodded my head " Sure " I replied before I was done talking with her I was walking out the room when she said " Hey Katrina tonight the Alpha will be here tonight and I think it would be a good idea to talk to him " she winking at me, I just rolled me eyes and said " Well and that case it will be short conversation then " she shook her head and said, " You have no choice ".  I came to a halt when those words left her mouth I can tell by the look on her face my reaction was not what she expected it. I felt my skin get hot for a minute but I clam down quickly and turn to my aunt "Why?" I asked trying my best to mask my facial expression ." He talked to your uncle and me about doing a mindlink ceremony with you since your back in the pack ". My eyes wides at her as her words registered in my brain and Shiva growled too. " But only when your ready " she reassured me, I just nodded " ok I am think about it " I told her walking out of the room.

Walking down to the kitchen to see Ms. James my aunt best friend taking some food out of the oven and placing it on the top stove, when she finally turns around to see me a big smile forms on her face " Hello dear, welcome home " she said as she walks over and hugs me tight. " Im glad your home dear," she said to me sweetly "it's a little weird being here, but I glad all the same "I replied. Ms.James was a sweet woman she was a little older then my aunt but they're friends. She is about my aunt height  with dark brown hair at medium length and tan skin.  When Jade,Jeanie and I was younger she would sometimes babysit us when our parents was out on date or some event that we couldnt go to, we would sometimes bake cookies and cakes too. I make my way to table to steal a cookie when she warned me " Thier still hot " i still grabbed and bit into it and moaning at the delicious taste . She lightly chuckled and shook her head and turned back to the stove" Your aunt said you was living in london studying dance, right ?" she asked , well i wasnt studying dance but i rent out a small dance studio for my online classes, but i told my aunt was studying dance at a local college but i hate lyng to my family but i wasnt  about tell them that im dancer at a gentlemens club on the side from doing online classes and Shiva didnt like the idea lying to everyone either." That's right " I said walking over to where she was standing as I was stuffing the cookie into my mouth. Finishing the so yummy chocolate chip cookie, we talked about how things have changed since I left, mostly who was mated to whom and the gossip about me and why I left the pack." Its like your the sheep black of the pack for leaving " Shiva state to me and from my sisters and Ms.James it sound like it . I am guessing from the look on my face she could tell the topic about me was making me uncomfortable and change it " Have you see the Alpha since you arrived ?" she asked i just shook my head, before i could repile to her someone walks in the room and to my dislike it Sarah Ann and the look on her face was priceless. She look at me like im a rare site to see or something " So you deicede to return home after, what ? five years ?"she said with vemon laced in her words and Shiva growled and i realised it come from me , her and Ms. James eyes wided at me .                 I had to force Shiva to the back of my mind before things turn really bad "It's nice to see you too Sarah, and I promised Jade and Jeanie I would be here for their eighteenth birthday." I said once I was calm down. The room was thick with tension I could cut it with a knife between me and Sarah. " I guess " was all she said to me, she turned around back to Ms. James and continue their conversation. I pull my phone out to text Cheryl to see what she is doing " O Just leaving my brother's place, how is everything going? " She asked " It's going as good as it can get, " I said sarcastic waiting for her text back Sarah was gone when I looked up and Ms. James was back at the stove stirring a pot. I walked over to her " Is there anything I can help with? " I asked " Yes  I need you to season the meat and roll them into meatballs " My smile was so big that she chuckled.

After I finished the meatballs which took some time, and I pretty sure after tonight I don't want to look at another meatball for a while. The next thing I hear some men rolling this large box into the spear room next to the kitchen, I had forgotten that I was to pop up out of the box later tonight when the pack sings happy birthday. An word of my aunt " your the first gift " I just shook my head and walked out of the kitchen into the next room to the box hoping it wasn't too small then they put the cover on. And thank God it wasn't and breatheable too. Getting out of the box not even realize someone was in the room with me when I look up to see fucking Tyler, just staring at me like he saw a ghost, which is somewhat true at this point.

" Well are you going to say something ... " I said standing in a large box with vemon lace in my voice When he didn't say anything Shiva didn't appreciate it either let out a low growl to get his attention. He jumps a little and reacted and finally turned and left the room without saying anything and thank goodness he did because we didn't like the vibes he gave us. Going back to the kitchen looking at the time it was five o'clock afternoon deciding to stay late just to make sure any more help is needed. Back in the kitchen, Ms. James was telling the delivery guy where to put the birthday cake.

The cake was five tiers tall painted all white with multiple colors flowers all over and gold trimming it's the most beautiful cake I saw. I think my aunt said it was marble cake too. "Now the trick is to getting it out of the door," I said walking over to Ms. James, she looked at me as we both realized the cake is too wide for the door with it being placed on a rolling cart. " Great " Shiva said shaking her head "I'm calling your aunt down here to see our problem," she said mind linking my aunt. That was one of the things about us we couldn't mind linking anyone in the pack, yep that's right, and thank Goddess for its sounds like a pain from what Cheryl tells me, and no privacy too. Shiva was also great full too, thinking back on what my aunt said earlier I pulled out my phone to see if Cheryl was back from her brothers pack, but before I could my aunt walked into the kitchen " Well the this is a big problem " my aunt looking at the door then to the cake just we did to see if it would fit ." We could just roll it onto the patio and have everyone meet there and sing there too ." I started when I saw that the patio door was large to roll the cake though and that area of the house was large enough for the whole pack and some guest." That's a great idea" my aunt said .

So we decorated the outside with some ribbons and my surprise box too. When I looked at my time to check the time " SHIT " I said out loud and my aunt rised her eyebrow and asked " What's wrong ? " I just realized it was past the time I said I was going to start getting dress and fix my hair "its late I need to start getting ready and it's going to take at least thirty mins to fix my hair " I said pointing to the top of my head ." Ooh " she said " Well why don't we finish up we're doing and go get dress " I am guessing she said over a mindlink and out loud to me too,because everyone stop working or finishing up and everything look beautiful balloons tried down on the stairs and ribbons , streaming hanging from the ceiling and all the food was done and being put out later . Leaving the pack house halfway home Shiva said " Tonight is going to be full of surprises " as I'm pulling into the drive way " what an the hell does that mean" I asked totally confused by her words. Walking in the front door of the house I headed straight up to my room to get dress but something about her words still didn't sit well with me , but we'll see.
