Chapter 9

Kelvin led Jessica to Justin's study upstairs. The room's interior was painted in grey, matching Justin's personality. Kelvin opened the door, ushered her in, and closed it behind her. Jessica was now alone with Justin.

She felt very nervous. She couldn't understand why she was feeling this way. There was just something about Justin that made her feel uneasy. His facial features were attractive. He hadn't even looked up from the papers he was working on; he just acted as if he were the only one in the room, ignoring her presence. This made Jessica feel even more uncomfortable.

"Mhm mhm," she cleared her throat, trying to draw his attention. He looked up, his indifferent dark eyes sweeping briefly through her entire body before he diverted his gaze back to the papers in front of him.

"I see you have come," his voice was as cold as ice. Jessica didn't know how to respond, so she kept quiet.
