Aurora POV “Did you actually manage to meet the person who sent the note?” Gabriel asks and Ethan licks his lips, savouring my taste. It makes me blush despite having seen them all do it a thousand times before. “Yeah, but I didn’t pay them in the end. It was some old wizard who had heard a rumour from another witch picking up some supplies from this witchy herb shop. He was low on cash and wanted to make a quick buck.” He supplies grabbing the soap and washing his corded arms and chest.“Waste of fucking time, like I said it would be,” Sabastian bites out, his palm coming down on my thigh below the water as I glare at him. This is not helping. “Yeah, but the shopkeeper on the other hand was able to give me some information, so it wasn’t a total loss,” he gives me a wink as Sabastian clicks his jaw, his hand skating up my thigh.“We questioned Avery. turns out you attacked him for nothing. He had noticed some magic being used in the pack and was trying to find out who was behind it.
Aurora POV “Um, before we head to the office, there is something waiting for you in your room and you might want to, um, freshen up first,” Kara adds quickly, steering me down the hall in the opposite direction. “Okay, but I think it’s important we get some answers,” I protest, but her grip is surprisingly firm considering her wrist looks like it would easily snap in two. “We will, but this should happen first.” She shoves me towards the door. I notice is the other end of the hall to where everyone else stays. I can’t even think what would be waiting in my room. My heart kicks up a couple of notches. “Is it about Luca?” I ask, and her face twists. “No … take a shower, you stink,” she tells me, opening the door and practically kicking me inside. “Thank me later, love you,”“Wait …” the door snaps shut behind me and I’m pretty sure she locked it, but I might be imagining things. What was that all about? I’m going to have words with my sister when I get out of here.I give my pits a qui
Aurora POVThe crimson moon pack stretched out before us. Dunes as far as the eye could see as we drove over the tumbling grains of sand. The heat was unbearable. Part of me wanted to wring out my top from the sweat that had accumulated. I’m not sure how Kara survived in this heat. A large sandstone wall surrounds the Crimson Moon Pack. Rows upon rows spiral up the top until finally an enormous castle sits. The place has turrets, towers, and gateways. When a sandstone occurs, the entire pack is lost, blending in with the surroundings. They hardly ever have invasions because anyone heading towards the pack is picked out like a fly in a glass of milk. The drawbridge lowers and then we make our decent driving the steep narrow winding roads up to the top of the castle.Kara greets us, her long dark waves cascading down her back as she wears a modest pretty lilac dress the hugs her curves. Besides her is Aria, her daughter, only slightly older than Violet. She has jet black dark straight h
Aurora POVKara had told us she and Elio will be happy to help us and to come now. I had just sent a quick text to Stacey and our brother to let them know the latest. They said they will join us once the kids are sorted. Caleb and I were going to be okay, but I didn’t have time to unpack that he had attacked me. Even if not intentional. I was unbandaging my arms, grateful there were no scars. I could only imagine what the twins had thought they would be scarred for life if I didn’t manage this properly. Even then, I’m not sure.I had taken a quick shower and redressed before I started loading up suitcases with clothes for me and my mates and a separate bag for the kids. Part of me wanted to take them with us, but I knew it would be risky. They may be coming up to 6years old, but they liked being at home. Of course, we normally had one of us with them, even when Riley and Dylan helped out. Depending on where Luca was and what we found, I didn’t want to risk them. They would hate it, bu
Sabastian POV Avery hangs limp in my arms as I carry him out of the cell. I really can’t decide how I feel right now. Is Avery a traitor and working against us to have Luca taken? Is he on our side, and we didn’t even let him speak to find out the truth? He has been one of our closest friends and a loyal pack member. To think he is capable of this it’s unspeakable. But seeing him injured this way, I don’t like how all I feel is guilt rather than rage.Gabriel has already left a glass of water, which I help Avery hold and bring to his lips once seated. This room is still dark and vacant, but compared to the actual cells, it is borderline cheery with its metal chairs, desk, and working spotlights. He slurps greedily, spilling most of the water down his face, which still holds several of the injuries from Ethan’s claws. Whilst the bleeding has stopped, the skin has healed, puckering and marred that will leave scars. His eyes open, staring at me. They aren’t unkind or filled with rage, a
Gabriel POV I had just placed Aurora on the bed. Her wounds were alarming. The look on her face was haunting. “He didn’t mean it,” I tell her softly, to which she just nods. It doesn’t make it any better. One second Caleb was fine, the next he was having a vision, his limbs twitching. We had all tried to pull him out of it. Aurora grabbed hold of him when his eyes snapped open. Then he attacked her, shifting into his wolf. It took seconds. If Sabastian and I hadn’t been there to pull him back, I dread to think what would happen. My little lamb didn’t even have time to pull up her shield to protect herself. The look on Caleb’s face when he realised it was her and not whoever was in his vision was gutting. He looked broken, but I can only imagine what Aurora would be feeling.I licked up both her arms, my saliva stitching her back together. “There won’t even be a scar,” I tell her as I start licking the neck and arm. The skin here is much worse when Caleb bursts in the door. I feel Aur
