LOGINWhat’s her type in men? The question seemed so hard to process that she could barely find an answer to it. She knows she has already had experience with men, and she had fallen for the wrong person as well, but Louis asking her about it gives her butterflies; she feels like her answer should at least make it seem like Louis would agree.
But why is he curious? Did he just come here to ask me things like this? I thought he was a busy person. Then why is he asking me things that aren’t important anyway?
She could immediately see the girls’ reaction in her mind once she told them about Louis paying her a visit, and they just talked about casual topics.
“What about it?” She asked, trying to sound clueless when there was already a conclusion that was running through her mind.
Louis shrugged and wiped his lips with the table napkin.
“Just curious. I want to know things about you. Your types…hobbies…anything.”
She couldn’t believe it. Louis is learning some details about her, and she doesn’t know what exactly it means.
Is he interested in me?
It was what is pinned in her mind, but at the same time, she didn’t want to sound delusional, or maybe her mind is just exaggerating things.
“Oh, like…” she tried to find answers when she already knew what it was.
“Well, I used to like calm people. That gentleness they radiate, and they often smile—those men who seemed welcoming and had a pleasing personality. I wanted gentlemen…those who seemed like they would never break you, shout, or even hurt you, whether emotionally or physically.”
“More on a true man who would genuinely love you,” he elaborated, to which Helena nodded.
“Yes.”
“Used to. Do you still like men to be that way or…
The truth is, Helena doesn’t want anything that would remind him of Darren anymore. She wanted drastic changes to forget her past, and she was now planning to turn all of her types into opposites.
“I want what’s opposite of my previous type now,” she decided.
Louis’ brows shot up. “That escalated too quickly. Which means you wanted a rough, intimidating, snobby, and loud man now?”
Helena didn’t know whether she would agree or not, but she already wanted the opposite of Darren.
“I’m not loud, though,” he said, shrugging.
She blinked twice, as she couldn’t believe that he really said that. She couldn’t even swallow the food she was munching because Louis was just distracting her to the core.
After eating, Louis also walked her to her class, and Helena couldn’t stop him anymore. She was just silent while she could feel her heart racing.
There were a lot of thoughts circulating around her mind. She found the opportunity to be able to spend time with him as rare. They might not like each other romantically, but she was now slowly treasuring the moment, expecting that the coldness between them would slowly melt and she would be able to build a friendship with him instead.
She has no faith in love anymore. But there was a little hope in her that someday someone would show her what love really is.
I wonder what would happen. Am I going to stay in this body forever? What if, all of a sudden, the real owner would take over? What happened to her? Is she dead now? Where is her soul? Will she be able to revive her own body and come back? And what would happen to me?
Those were the thoughts that were running through her mind until she just noticed that she was already in her room.
“Oh my god! Oh my god! I told you so! He is fucking interested in you!” The girls overreacted dramatically as soon as the next subject came up, and she told them a little bit about it.
What’s funny is, Helena just barely told them everything, like how Louis stayed in her pad to just eat with her while talking about what their type. And later on, Louis even insisted on walking her to her next class.
She just told her Louis went because he wanted to see her, which is what Louis said when Helena asked her.
“What else? I feel like there is more to it! The red blush on your cheeks might be the reason behind those rosy cheeks of yours!”
She would be honest with herself and say that she is quite overwhelmed with Louis’ actions. Knowing that he didn’t just stay in his pad talking about casual things that they talked about for the first time, but the fact that he also walked her to his subject is just too intimate for her.
She kept on telling herself that he was only trying to build his image and to make everyone know that they were doing well together to avoid some unnecessary rumors about them.
But at the back of her mind, there was another garden of hopes blooming, like a field of an emotion she is scared to visit…
“We just talked about things,” she explained while the three’s faces were now zooming in as they looked excited about what she was about to spill.
“What kind of talk? If he asked what your type is, then girl, you better get ready. I’m telling you, men who are interested would fish for some information about you so they would know if they had a chance,” Rina stated, which made her chest pound hard, guiltily.
She couldn’t answer it, but the way her cheeks blushed, the girls' eyes widened as they screamed controllably.
“Oh my god! Oh my god! Something is happening! The alpha is falling! I repeat, the alpha is falling!”Alice whispered internally as if she was about to lose her mind, while the two were panicking as well on their seats.
Helena tried to hush them, but they were just too loud and excited, and the only thing that calmed them down was when the next professor showed up wearing reading glasses and a strict expression.
“Alright class, so I am going to be your coach for identifying if you have a skill to become one of the class b.”
Helena relaxed in her seat as everyone behaved as well, since the vibe of the coach was just too intimidating to shrug off.
The coach walked to the front of his table and started pacing back and forth, his hands behind his back while his eyes seemed to be criticizing them strictly.
“I want this class to be well disciplined. I want you to focus and to prioritize the lesson during classes. I would be very strict during the activities as well, and I want everyone to give their best shot. I don’t care who you are or what special abilities you have to be here, but I want you to know that in my class, you are a student and you need to follow my rules.” He looked at them one by one until his eyes settled on Helena as well, and she got even more nervous, but she silently listened.
The heavy atmosphere could be felt. When the coach started his lesson and scribbled on the board, everyone was just too attentive, and no one wanted to make any noise that might interrupt him.
“Is Helena Asher in this room?” He asked.
“Yes, sir,” Helena responded. The coach glanced at him, bowed his head a bit, and lowered his glasses to see her eye to eye.
“Keep in mind that despite being the fiancée of a Montville, you won’t get special treatment from me. I will look forward to seeing you, Miss Asher,” he said.
It added to Helena’s nervousness that she would be watched by him closely, but at the same time, she was excited to give her shot at the subject.
“Alright. Our first activity in the next meeting will be more on the field. Since, for sure, the class of Miss Bridget has already tackled some topics about you, mine would be more on the outdoors since it will focus on letting out your ability to perform through combat and hunting. And when I say hunting, it would involve weapons that could be used as your own self-defense to protect yourself from the threat. Now, eyes on the board, and I will discuss the different kinds of weapons.”
The coach showed the weapons they would be using one by one and explained it briefly for their activity, which is so-called hunting.
Helena was just too interested that she didn’t want to keep her eyes off it while the coach kept the lectures ongoing. She was amused that she was about to discover what kind of weapon she would be more comfortable with, but she didn’t expect too much that she would do well, knowing that she had zero skill when it came to fighting.
“Now, this lesson would only teach you how to survive, but using a weapon doesn’t mean you're about to kill someone. Having discipline while handling it is a great responsibility, and it also comes with a better perspective that you aren’t just a fighter yourself, but you are also a protector.”
Helena realized that she should treat each day as important because she has no idea how long she would be able to stay in Helena’s body. Either she would be there forever, or soon enough, she would eventually kick out.
If I am able to leave this body and disappear permanently, I will make sure that it would be worth dying for the second time.
Helena was so looking forward to the activities in her subject that she couldn’t wait to choose a weapon for herself that would be suitable for her advantage. Meanwhile, Louis has been a consistent visitor at her pad just to eat and have a casual talk with her. She has no idea whether Louis isn’t as busy as she thinks or if her friends are really right about him. After her class, when she was already on her way out, Bruno suddenly flashed in front of her the next day.“Helena…” he called with a smile.“Bruno.” She smiled back.“I heard from the girls that class B will have some activities on the field, which means it’s going to be tough for the beginners. It will now involve weapons.”She nodded. “Yup. I’m quite excited to know what weapon I am flexible with.”“Hmm. If you don’t mind, you can come with me, and I’ll show you something. Don’t worry, it’s still in the camp, and I will walk you back to your pad.” He raised his hand like a promise. She suddenly thought of Louis, but she wa

Louis’ chewing slowed down so much that he took his handkerchief out of his pants and lent it to Helena, who was still coughing from the shock of Louis’ words. She took the handkerchief and wiped her lips, thanking Louis, amused as well that the handkerchief smelled so nice.“But I thought you were busy?” She pointed out.He shrugged. “I can manage. Besides, I need to watch over you. The Ashers are expecting that I would take good care of you.”“Oh, it’s fine. Besides, the girls here are friendly, and I have friends already. Bruno is here to guide me too.”She had seen how Louis’ brow raised as soon as she mentioned Bruno. Her heart was starting to pound slowly, and the words of the girls suspecting Louis might have feelings for her resurfaced in her mind, and she could not stop thinking about it anymore.“You like him?” He clarified.Helena was slightly taken aback by his bold question.“Oh…I don’t. I just… like the way he takes care of me here since he is my mentor too. He guides me
Helena was already on her way to her own pad while thinking about Louis, who paid her a visit. She wanted to think that he might have brought important news, but he decided to see her in person instead. On her way there, Bruno suddenly blocked her way and grinned at her, showing a snack, which made her eyes widen, and she chuckled right away.“An ice cream in this cold place?” She asked as she laughed since she found it hilarious while taking it from his hand.“Well, we could tolerate its coldness, and who cares if ice cream is cold? It’s still delicious, you know,” Bruno said as he put his hands in his pockets and stood next to her as they walked together slowly.Helena only smiled and licked the ice cream as Bruno walked her to her pad.“So… how’s your first day?” He asked curiously.“Well, it was actually nice. I had fun listening to my first subject.”“Hmm. Do you have expectations? Which classification in the future would you want to belong to?”“I actually want any of it. I’m fi
As soon as the girls heard that Alpha Louis had visited, they immediately grinned at Helena, stood up as soon as the teacher went out to talk to him, and started shaking her.“He is here! Oh my god? What could be the possible reason for that?” The girls asked as they crowded her, pulling the other chairs to sit in front of her.The other students were only looking at them for being so chaotic, but at the same time they found it cute that Helena was getting friends. They were all respecting her, and they found her very pretty as well.“He is probably here for another reason?” She reasoned, but the girls hyped her up even more.“Of course not, Helena! Think about it thoroughly. You said that he has always been busy, and yet, now that you were here and he could freely do everything without worrying about you coming home for dinner, here he is, visiting you so early!” Alice hissed, like all of those she is calculating in her head make sense.“Helena, he is now starting to show signals! Helena had so much fun with the pottery that she could already picture out her days in the camp with her newfound friend. She wants to be with them. It was so new to her, and she couldn’t believe that socializing would bring her so much joy. When her first night was slowly approaching, during dinner, the girls went into her room to take the food the cook had cooked for her. She was so delighted that she was treated so well that she invited them to eat with her.“Wow. I didn’t know that there was food that tasted like this. It’s so delicious,” Alice pointed out while they were all squatting at a round table in front of the fireplace, while the snow could be seen pouring through the window. They were wearing ordinary clothes, while it was only Helena who was wearing sweaters.“Is Alpha Louis fine if you will be here for how many days?” Rina asked while shoving food in her mouth.Helena nodded. “I think so. Besides, he is also busy, and he only comes home at night so we can eat dinner to
