Chapter 20| The choice

"You are getting married to Amara."

The words rang in Killian's ears, again and again until it got imprinted in his mind, creating a havoc which won't be calmed down. The declaration which his uncle made didn't sit well with him. He isn't someone to follow others words, even if it's his own family.

A chuckle escaped him, his chest vibrating as he threw his head back, sharp canines on display as he chuckled in humour.

"The girl whom I will marry will be of high blood, powerful and pure." He declared. His eyes met with Amara's who stared at him in utter fear. "And this orphan isn't either of them. She has no idea whose dirty blood runs in her veins, is of no class and most importantly can't give me the one thing which a wife should give to her husband after wedding-" He looked at her with a smirk.

"-her virginity, for she is tainted and used already."

Amara's lips trembled and she fisted her hand hearing him. The words tainted and used cut her heart open and made it bleed furiously.
