AUTHOR’S POV

Elle sat with a satisfied smirk as she admired the papers in her hand. Theon had finally completed transferring his shares in the hotel chains to her. She knew Reginald was going to come barking anytime soon and she could not wait to see the expression on his face as he whined like a little bitch.

She dropped the papers on her table and spun her chair, giggling happily while looking around her office space. She still could not believe how far she had gotten in just five years.

“Who knew that tossing me out would be the best thing that had ever happened in my life?” She smirked.

Though she wanted revenge on everyone who hurt her, she was still grateful that what happened did happen. Back then, all she wanted was to marry Theon and be happy, but the fall from grace forced her to find herself and work hard to achieve everything she wanted but never worked towards.

A knock disrupted her celebratory moment, and she quickly put the papers back in her drawer, knowing it wouldn’t

ELLE I had a lot of things on my mind. I had to make a tough decision, and I didn’t know if I wanted to do it. I sighed for the millionth time as I stirred my coffee slowly, watching the cream swirl into the dark liquid like a storm. Theon sat across from me in his usual crisp, tailored suit, skimming through his emails on his tablet. I noticed he looked at me whenever I let out a sigh, but he said nothing as he if knew I was gathering my thoughts and probing me would do no good. The air between us was comfortable. Too comfortable for my liking. That was probably why I was even considering telling him about my plans for tomorrow, but I couldn’t not tell him. It would make no sense to disappear for a day, and I couldn’t not go either. It wasn’t an option. The fact that I was comfortable and had no issue against telling him unnerved me. When had I gotten used to him in my life? When did I stop seeing him as an enemy? I shook my head. Regardless of what my stupid heat thought,

AUTHOR’S POV Amanda couldn’t wipe the smile off her face as the car rolled to a stop in front of the Blackwell’s mansion. She hadn’t stopped smiling and didn’t plan to. She had mapped out a whole plan in her head that was going to succeed no matter what now that she had the money and her hands were itching to start. She didn’t wait for Eliza as she practically jumped out of the race and raced towards the house. She could feel victory at the tip of her fingers, and she could not wait to catch it. Behind her, small Eliza could barely keep up. The shoes her grandpa had bought for her were in a bag which she held as she ran after her mother with a smile on her face. Today was one of those rare days her mother treated her kindly and let her pick what she wanted to she was eager to spend the rest of the day with her as she never made time for her. To Eliza, this was a golden opportunity. “Mummy?” she ran after Amanda who didn’t bother to turn back as her head was buried in her phon

AUTHOR’S POVA black luxury car pulled into the Sterlings mansion. The car rolled to a stop at the entrance and Aiden stepped out with a smile on his face. It was the first genuine smile he had worn in months, years even. The warmth in his chest felt almost foreigh. He hadn’t had peace in a long time since Eleanoe left. And that had been his fault. He had messed up but life had given him another chance to fix it. Spending the day with Eliza and Eleanor had brought a quiet peace to him. They didn’t hang out for as long as he wanted but it was enough for now. He didn’t want to force Eleanor to spend more time with him so she didn’t get mad at him again. Aiden was willing to take baby steps to fix the relationship with his daughter. He would do anything it takes and give her everything she wanted as long as she forgave him completely. He dismissed the driver and went upstairs to the bedroom. He didn’t know if his wife was around but he couldn’t wait to tell her about Eliza and how

AUTHOR’S POVAiden allowed Eleanor pull him out of the store but he couldn’t stop glancing back at Elle with a frown on his face. There was something in the way she looked at him. The hostility was too much for someone she had just meant. Something was wrong with that lady and he didn’t like how her glares made him feel guilty. Like he had offended her. He slowed down and tugged on Amanda’s hand so she could slow down. He understood that she was upset, and he was doing everything he could to make it up to her. “Wait, Eleanor” he called “Slow down first. I need to ask you something” Aiden told her, making them stop just in front of three stores away from the one they had exited. “Dad? Is everything okay?” Eleanor turned to him with the same innocent and worried expression she used to give him before, and it warmed his heart to see that she still cared so much. “Are you sure it’s safe for you and Eliza to remain at the Blackwell’s estate? Especially with Elle there?”Amanda blinked

ELLE“I’ll see you at home?” Theon murmured, hands around my waist as he whispered. Don’t ask my how we ended up like this because I wouldn’t be able to tell you either. “Hmm” I hummed. It was fruitless to tell him to keep his distance because he wouldn’t listen. Theon leaned down and kissed me deeply. I sighed in contentment. Malice lingers in the distance but the line was slowly blurring.Theon lingered. He said he had something to do but it looked like he didn’t want to leave. I knew he wanted me to ask about where he was headed but I didn’t ask because I didn’t care. At least that was what I told myself. But I did. But I’ll never show him that.“Are you free now?” Sophie poked her head through the door after a while with a smirk on her face that made me roll my eyes. “What do you want?” I hissed playfully. She pushed the door open with a wide grin “I know we hate Theon but he is such a gentleman” she cooed and I glared at her. “Don’t be fooled, Sophie. I still hate him” I

ELLEWhen I woke up, I had venom dripping through my veins and Sophie sensed it when I walked out of the house.I was taking my anger and guilt for what happened to Milo and needed somewhere or a bunch of fools to dump them on and I knew just the perfect people for that. Sophie was quiet beside me as we rode the elevator to the top floor where the meeting would be held. She didn’t even try to give me any of her usual cheery optimism and the only sound was the soft ding of each floor ticking by as I adjusted the sleeves of my ivory blazer.“Do you need coffee?” Sophie asked quietly and I eyed the cup in her hand and shook my head. I didn’t need coffee this morning.I needed blood but since that would be illegal, I could settle for some torment. The elevator opened and I stepped out, ready to burn some rot. “They’re already inside,” Sophie murmured, adjusting her glasses as she checked her tablet when we got tot the door.I pushed the door open and stepped inside. Twelve shareholders
