THEON

I never thought a piece of paper could feel so heavy until this moment. The paternity results sat heavy in my hands, having being handed to me by the doctor a few seconds ago.

I had been so confident a few minutes ago that the result would be negative. I wanted it to be but the words ‘positive’ stood out in a mocking font.

I read the paper over again, hoping it would change but the same word stared at me, not changing.

Eliza was mine.

“So, she is yours?” Julian whispered from where he stood beside me.

He had offered to come with me when I told him I was coming to get the paternity test results.

“According to the test, yes” I sighed.

I lifted my gaze towards Mira and Eleanor. Mira had a smirk on her face, not bothering to conceal the smugness radiating off her.

She hadn’t stopped telling me I was wasting my time because Eliza was mine. She was so confident and now, she was right.

Beside her, Eleanor looked relieved. Her eyes watered as she exhaled shakily and clasped her ha

AUTHOR’S POV The shrill sound of her phone ringing woke Amanda up from her sleep at the early hours of the morning. She blinked at sound, still groggy with sleep as she reached for the loud device with a groan. She was about to cuss out whoever was disturbing her when she froze, and chill replaced the anger when she saw it was Mira calling. Amanda blinked to make sure she wasn’t dreaming but Mira’s name was still flashing boldly across the screen. She sat up quickly as she stared at the phone. Mira didn’t call in the early hours of the morning. It was barely 10 am. The thought that something could be wrong made her stomach churn as she answered the call. “Hello?” She answered with a small voice. “Get to the house. Now.” Mira practically screamed at her and then the line went dead. A cold sweat broke on her forehead as her heart began to pound frantically. She tossed the covers to the side and jumped down from the bed. Mira never shouted because she never needed to. All s

ELLE It was a Saturday, but the house seemed gloomy. Eleanor had disappeared first thing in the morning and Theon had to go to the next state for a business meeting. He said he would be back the next day, so I considered staying the night with Milo. I knew he would love it. The only problem was Eliza who was coming along. I couldn’t keep her overnight. It would make Amanda curious and the last thing I needed was for her to get curious and start poking her nose in my business when she became suspicious. I poked my head inside Eliza’s room to see her sitting on the bed while whispering to her doll and giggling like they shared a secret. She was dressed in a blush colored long sleeved top, denim overalls and sneakers. Her hair had been curled and put into pigtails, and she wore a cute luxury pause and a thin gold bracelet. I had to admit, Theon was very generous when it came to her needs. He may not spend a lot of time with her which he felt guilty about, but he spared no expenses

ELLE I had a lot of things on my mind. I had to make a tough decision, and I didn’t know if I wanted to do it. I sighed for the millionth time as I stirred my coffee slowly, watching the cream swirl into the dark liquid like a storm. Theon sat across from me in his usual crisp, tailored suit, skimming through his emails on his tablet. I noticed he looked at me whenever I let out a sigh, but he said nothing as he if knew I was gathering my thoughts and probing me would do no good. The air between us was comfortable. Too comfortable for my liking. That was probably why I was even considering telling him about my plans for tomorrow, but I couldn’t not tell him. It would make no sense to disappear for a day, and I couldn’t not go either. It wasn’t an option. The fact that I was comfortable and had no issue against telling him unnerved me. When had I gotten used to him in my life? When did I stop seeing him as an enemy? I shook my head. Regardless of what my stupid heat thought,

AUTHOR’S POV Amanda couldn’t wipe the smile off her face as the car rolled to a stop in front of the Blackwell’s mansion. She hadn’t stopped smiling and didn’t plan to. She had mapped out a whole plan in her head that was going to succeed no matter what now that she had the money and her hands were itching to start. She didn’t wait for Eliza as she practically jumped out of the race and raced towards the house. She could feel victory at the tip of her fingers, and she could not wait to catch it. Behind her, small Eliza could barely keep up. The shoes her grandpa had bought for her were in a bag which she held as she ran after her mother with a smile on her face. Today was one of those rare days her mother treated her kindly and let her pick what she wanted to she was eager to spend the rest of the day with her as she never made time for her. To Eliza, this was a golden opportunity. “Mummy?” she ran after Amanda who didn’t bother to turn back as her head was buried in her phon

AUTHOR’S POVA black luxury car pulled into the Sterlings mansion. The car rolled to a stop at the entrance and Aiden stepped out with a smile on his face. It was the first genuine smile he had worn in months, years even. The warmth in his chest felt almost foreigh. He hadn’t had peace in a long time since Eleanoe left. And that had been his fault. He had messed up but life had given him another chance to fix it. Spending the day with Eliza and Eleanor had brought a quiet peace to him. They didn’t hang out for as long as he wanted but it was enough for now. He didn’t want to force Eleanor to spend more time with him so she didn’t get mad at him again. Aiden was willing to take baby steps to fix the relationship with his daughter. He would do anything it takes and give her everything she wanted as long as she forgave him completely. He dismissed the driver and went upstairs to the bedroom. He didn’t know if his wife was around but he couldn’t wait to tell her about Eliza and how

AUTHOR’S POVAiden allowed Eleanor pull him out of the store but he couldn’t stop glancing back at Elle with a frown on his face. There was something in the way she looked at him. The hostility was too much for someone she had just meant. Something was wrong with that lady and he didn’t like how her glares made him feel guilty. Like he had offended her. He slowed down and tugged on Amanda’s hand so she could slow down. He understood that she was upset, and he was doing everything he could to make it up to her. “Wait, Eleanor” he called “Slow down first. I need to ask you something” Aiden told her, making them stop just in front of three stores away from the one they had exited. “Dad? Is everything okay?” Eleanor turned to him with the same innocent and worried expression she used to give him before, and it warmed his heart to see that she still cared so much. “Are you sure it’s safe for you and Eliza to remain at the Blackwell’s estate? Especially with Elle there?”Amanda blinked
