Chapter 6 Angelina was surprised

Angelina furrowed her brow; she hadn't heard wrong earlier. If her husband said, "Moreen was kidnapped," curiously, Angelina got out of bed and ran after Axton.

Downstairs, Evelyn was already frantic, and worried for Moreen's safety. Angelina joined them as well.

"Axton, why did you let Moreen go alone? What if he's killed by those criminals?"

"Mommy, just power up! Whoever dares to hurt Moreen is my enemy forever!" Axton's eyes fell on Angelina, who was standing behind Evelyn.

Angelina slightly swallowed her saliva in distress. Why was Axton looking at her so intently?

"You should be able to catch all those criminals and imprison them!"

"That's for sure, Mommy. Now let me go!" Axton immediately left the house and headed for his car. Evelyn watched as Axton's car pulled out of the driveway and onto the street, followed by an escort car from behind.

When Evelyn turned around, she was surprised by Angelina's presence. The old woman threw a displeased look.

"You can't be happy about getting Moreen out of the house! Look, Axton will bring her back!"

After that, Evelyn left Angelina alone in the living room.

"What is my fault? Why have they all changed?" said Angelina while looking down.

Angelina felt a very different attitude toward her. It seemed that the Almelo family no longer loved her just because she had not been able to give them offspring.

Angelina sighed harshly as she walked back to her room.

She stood on the balcony of the room, folding her hands over her stomach, accompanied by the cool night air.

She tried to get rid of her jealousy. In the past, Angelina had been treated well by her husband. However, this disaster seemed to have struck, blowing away Axton's feelings of love for her.

Angelina stood there for a long time until Axton's car was seen entering the yard. She felt happy that her husband had returned home safely from the criminals.

The sound of knocking on the door several times was heard. Angelina immediately walked quickly to open it.

"Malic, what are you knocking for?"

"Mrs. Angelina, the great master would like to see you in the living room," said the bodyguard who had helped Moreen.

Angelina nodded slowly, then immediately closed the door to the room and went downstairs ahead of Malic.

It was a very disgusting sight in Angelina's eyes. Moreen hugged Axton's body very tightly, looking terrified when Angelina arrived in the living room.

Axton, Moreen, and Evelyn sat on the same sofa, with Moreen in the middle of them.

There were also two foreign men whom Angelina had never met before. The condition of the two was very poor. With both hands tied behind their backs, their faces were battered from being hit by hard objects. Their clothes also looked shabby due to the dust of the old building.

It looked like they had just had a big fight with Axton and his two bodyguards.

"You sly woman!" cursed Evelyn. "How disgusting you are, Angelina. How dare you hire thugs to kill Moreen! Your brain is too narrow!"

Angelina was shocked by her mother-in-law's statement. The expression on her face was that of a fool. More to the point, she didn't know anything about what she was being accused of.

"What does that mean, Mom?" asked Angelina in a low tone.

"Every day, your behavior makes me angrier and angrier, Angelina!" said Axton.

Now Angelina's gaze turned to her husband who was still trying to calm Moreen in his arms.

"Axton, I really don't understand all these accusations," said Angelina while shaking her head.

"Don't play dumb! You must know them!" pointed Axton at the two men.

"Mrs. Angelina, just confess already. Please let us go. We don't want to go to jail," the two men concluded, as if to add to the Almero family's belief that the real culprit was Angelina.

"Who paid you to accuse me so viciously?!" Angelina's gaze began to sharpen. She took a few steps closer towards the men who claimed to be her accomplices, but they remained silent.

"Listen, Axton. He's creating another drama. Why does Angelina hate me so much that she wants to eliminate me?!" Moreen's cries grew louder, adding to the dramatic atmosphere. There was the role of the villain and the role of the villainized.

Angelina's teeth clenched, her anger now provoked as Moreen played the role of the oppressed woman.

"You snake woman! This must all be your trick to make Axton hate me!" Angelina said loudly, her index finger pointing at Moreen.

Axton was furious. He immediately let go of the hug and got up from the sofa. His long right hand managed to slap Angelina hard on the cheek.

Plak!

"You're lacking, Angelina! Quickly kneel down and beg Moreen for forgiveness, or I'll throw you and the two thugs in jail!" Axton's threat was not a joke.

With one hand on her cheek, Angelina stared sadly, unable to believe that her husband was doing this to her just for defending her lover. As best she could, Angelina held back the tears from falling in front of them.

Even though the pain had penetrated to her heart!

The Almero family seemed to have a god of good fortune when Moreen arrived at the house. It was as if everyone was obligated to worship the cunning woman.
