ASHLEY

My fingers were still curled around the handle , I knew who had called me but I was too scared to turn, how else was I supposed to face him , what should I say …

“Luna Ashley?”

This time his voice was barely a whisper . He was standing close to me ,far yet I could feel the heat of his skin radiating from wherever he was.

Every muscle in my body stiffened. Slowly, I turned, my breath still trapped in my throat.

Kael stood a few feet away, he was leaning casually against the wall as if he’d been watching me the whole time and something in the way he looked at me felt like he was enjoying this.

His face was calm, but his eyes held something deep, was it Curiosity?

Was it Suspicion?

For a moment, I couldn’t speak. My lips parted, but no sound came out as I stood right where I was.

“Didn't…didn't see you.” I stuttered.

He took a slow step forward, his boots barely making a sound against the floor. “What are you doing here?”

“I—” My throat felt dry. I forced a nervous smile an

ASHLEY The sun was still up when I woke up. In a way I tried to think of what had just happened but couldn't as my mind was still rattled. At this time the Morning light was making its way through the windows as I stirred, still feeling that buzz of anxiety. At first it felt like any normal day in the past. Then my eyes flew open.I looked around the room trying to remember the details of how things ended the previous day, my gaze fell around to an empty room that was void of his heat..Clutching the duvet closer to my torso , my heart pounded in my chest as I fought in vain to get the memories of yesterday as it swirled around my mind in fragments. For a minute my fingers were rather rattled, I ran my fingers through the fabric of the blanket as I looked around the stillness enveloping me..“Where was he?" I thought to myself.Slowly the images kept coming back to the back of my mind, I had a sharp headache as the vision of the wolf came again.“What is happening?” I thou

ASHLEY’S POVThe first thing I felt was the pounding in my heart as soon as I woke up the next morning. At first it all started with a dull ache that pulsed behind my eyes and made the room spin all the whole while I stayed right there on the bed. I groaned softly and turned my head into the pillow, shutting my eyes tighter as I took in a deep breath. Was I sick?My thoughts were scattered, The feelings of last night and what I had seen felt like a dream I couldn’t string together. I remembered standing at the window. Kael’s voice calling me. .. And then nothing, it was all like a blur, I couldn't make out anything as my chest tightened. I didn’t want to think too far into it…When I finally pushed myself up, the headache only worsened. I pressed my fingers against my temples and sat very still, trying to calm my racing heartAs the bed dipped beside me, I didn’t need to turn to know it was him as I could feel his warmth.“Are you alright?” His voice was low and cautious.I kept

KAELThe first thing I noticed when I woke up was the empty space beside me where she should have been, it was still warm enough to tell me that she hadn't left for too long.My hand slid across the bed, touching nothing but cold linen when I had tried to reach her after the weird dream that I just had.“Ashley?” I called out after feeling a quiet thud in my chest.Where could she be ? With the thought still heavy in my heart I sat up, my eyes adjusting to the dim light spilling through the half-drawn curtains. The room was still,so quiet that I could hear my heart racing from within-She wouldn’t just leave, I knew that …Not in the middle of the night. I swung my legs over the edge of the bed and grabbed the first shirt I could find. I didn’t bother putting on my shoes while I walked out , cautiously. Ever since the thought of the talk of the rogue king showing up I had been that way , been rather too careful if I must say. The corridor outside was silent except for the creak

ASHLEY“So you know what I am thinking, I feel -" I paused mid sentence. I had pushed the door open slowly and peered inside, expecting to hear her still complaining or pacing the room like before but instead, she was lying on my bed fast asleep. “You needed it." I muttered to myself smiling.I helped with getting her hair away from her face and stared as her dark hair spilled across the pillow, her chest rising and falling slowly. For a moment, I stood that way …There by the doorway just watching her. She looked so peaceful compared to how she had been earlier acting all frantic and scared, almost like a child and I didn’t want to disturb that calmness.I walked in on tiptoe after I had placed the plate of food on the small wooden table near the bed, and stepped back after I pulled the thin blanket over her shoulders. She didn’t even stir…Something in me wanted to stay there, maybe even sit and think, but the room felt heavy with all the words we had said earlier. My mind was

ASHLEY After he left I was just gathering my thoughts when another knock came from the door ,this time it was urgent and I had thought it was Kael at first who had returned.Surprising enough Lorna stood behind the door with quite an intense look on her face almost like she had seen a ghost.“He knows…He saw us.” She waves her hands frantically.Perplexed, I stood still trying to understand what she was saying but couldn't make out anything." Who are you talking about?” I was confused." Alpha Kael, he knows about Logan and myself…”“What!” I grimaced . " How? He just left here and didn't have any clue, we only spoke about the Rogue King.” " He saw us …" I was taken back by what she just said.In a way I felt confused to say the least. “Make me understand." “We were standing in a compromising position and he walked in on us ,well àlmost but you know Kael misses those things." She sighs." Oh, mine …” I ran my fingers through my hair.We sat in tense silence for a moment, before I
