Chapter Twenty

 

On the weekend of May eleventh, Stanley took a call from a relative. They haven’t spoken in over fifteen years. Bates gave him the day off because he wanted Max to remain in the dark room observing the monitors for a few days. Stanley didn’t question.

He admitted they had done a shitty job capturing the murderers. Every time someone tried to approach Bates with leads or information, he dismissed them. Isn’t that the point of leads? And what about Jennifer Woods? So concerned about Stanley? At least Max and Dale tried harder.

Stanley gave the relative, his cousin Paul, permission to visit that Friday night. After eight, Paul showed up on Stanley’s doorstep. His cousin never contacted him before or after the funerals, so why was he there?
