SIENNA

“Is everything ready?”

I couldn’t stop smoothing down the invisible lines on my dress. I needed everything to go as well as it could. Nothing could go wrong. There could be absolutely no mistakes.

“Yes,” Hunter, the beta of the pack, answered Tristan’s question. Tristan nodded, adjusting his own tie a little.

“They’re all waiting for you to come and address them,” Hunter finished.

“Alright then. Their Alpha will grace them with his presence soon enough,” Tristan chuckled to himself.

Hunter chuckled at that before letting out a breath. “I’ll be heading inside now.”

With that, he opened the door and entered the hall, shutting it behind him. I silently wished he would stay here and continue with his jokes. At least it would distract me from the thought of all that would be going on. It was hilarious that I was even worried about something like this. Laughable even.

“Are you ready for this?” Tristan asked, turning to look at me.

I was dressed in a black gown that hugged my curves.

TRISTANThings were definitely not going the way I wanted, and it was getting to me with each passing second. It felt like I was slowly losing my mind. I wanted to throw something so bad—probably at someone too.“No, no, no. No!” I flung the papers to the side and let out a sigh.I could feel an incoming migraine with how much stress I’d been through that morning already. I knew my nerves were fraying with each day. There was some sort of tension in the pack. As much as most members of the pack had been elated when I rejected Violet, there was still the problem of me having a mate and, by extension, a Luna for the West Creak Pack.I needed to do something about this before things started getting out of my control. I began to massage the sides of my head. This was all getting too much. I needed a break. With a sigh, I got up from my desk and made my way out of my office.I started heading to my room, ignoring the greetings of the people who passed me. All I wanted then was to be alone

LUCIAN“I want to sleep so bad.”A long sigh left my lips as I leaned further into my seat. Documents were splayed all over my table like some kind of display. I didn’t know how long I’d been working, but judging by how dark it was outside, I’d say I’d been at it for hours on end.I felt beat from a long day of doing pack work. My main concern had been the issue brought to me by Falco. The rogue problem wasn’t something I could take lightly. It was something that could possibly cause mass panic. That was one thing I didn’t want.Maintaining a sense of peace and security was something I’d always strived to do in the pack. I didn’t want anything getting in the way of that. Not some dirty rogues who refused to cooperate, and not the sinister thought lurking behind their odd movements.I glanced at the clock on the wall. I figured I had worked long enough. I set the documents aside and got up from the seat. After stretching a little, I made my way outside the room and began my walk up the

VIOLETI felt like my heart had just stopped upon hearing those words. The girl was still looking at me with a certain glint in her eyes. Almost like she knew something she didn’t want to say. I willed myself to stay calm. There was no way this girl knew who I really was. She was probably just saying that. There was really no reason to panic.“I don’t understand what you mean by that,” I tried to laugh it off.“You don’t need to pretend. It all looks pretty forced,” she said, her voice blank.I watched as the girl’s blank expression slowly morphed into something unnerving. The girl was more or less creeping me out with what she was doing. I needed to leave. I felt like running away and not looking back for any reason.“I really don’t know what you mean. Please excuse me,” I slowly turned away, about to leave. The girl grabbed my arm, forcing me to stop in my tracks.“Violet. Don’t you want to hear what I have to say?” the girl continued, her smile growing by the second. When I didn’t

VIOLET“But I’m telling you, water can technically be seen as wet,” Reese argued, her hands on her hips.I let out a sigh as I looked at Reese with an incredulous expression. We’d been going back and forth about whether or not water was wet as we got ready for the day. It was safe to say that Reese wasn’t the kind of person who liked losing an argument.“Whatever you say,” I sighed.I looked at my outfit once more in the mirror, satisfied with what I had on. Reese had been helping me work on my makeup skills, and I was impressed by how far I’d come. I’d put on light makeup for the day.Reese got up from the bed and began making her way after me. I opened the door and shut it behind us. We began making our way downstairs as I prepped my mind for what I had to do. I was the Luna now, which meant there were certain responsibilities and duties expected of me.Today, we’d be going to the main estate to have a general meeting with the women of the pack. I felt I needed to be more involved a

LUCIANThings had been going slowly yet smoothly since that day. The announcement had been more or less a success. I had enlisted Zayn’s help in knowing what was going on around me. I had to know what members of my pack thought about the situation.I was in my office, going through some paperwork when someone knocked on the door. For a moment, my thoughts went to Zayn. Maybe it was him.“Come in,” I called out.The door slid open, and I raised my head to see it was one of the men in the pack. I set the document aside and focused my attention on him.“Alpha,” the man bowed his head a little.“Falco. Have a seat,” I gestured to the seat in front of my desk.He nodded and gingerly took the seat. I noticed he was wringing his hands together, something I had known him to do over the years. Falco was one of the heads of the many squadrons of the pack. He had proven his worth in numerous battles and always had my respect.“Is something the matter?” I went straight to the point to avoid beatin

TRISTAN“I give you one job. One simple job for you to do.” I paced up and down the office as I glared at the men assembled before me. I could feel the anger building up in me the more the thought crossed my mind—and it definitely crossed my mind every single time.“And you do this.” I flung the glass cup in my hand at the wall in a fit of anger. The man whose head had been only a few inches away from the glass visibly flinched. It had been a pretty close call, but that had almost been him.Nobody wanted to be around me when I was in this fit of rage, but they didn’t have any other choice but to stand and wait for my next command. I was the Alpha, after all, and their allegiance was sworn to me.I let out a deep breath as I tried to steady myself. I had given the guards the assignment of searching for Violet. After the night of the ceremony, they had all woken up only to find out that she had packed her meager belongings and fled.It made me more annoyed that she just had the gall to r

LUCIANThe car slowly rocked past stony paths before finally pulling on to a clear road. From the corner of my eyes, I noticed Zayn turn his head in my direction.“You could have just said we’d be going to see her,” Zayn sounded a bit annoyed.“I wanted it to be a surprise,” I shrugged, trying to fight back the urge to smile. The prospect of seeing my girl seemed to calm down all the nerves that were fighting deep within me.She was the one thing that seemed to tether me down when it felt like I was spiraling. Today, I wasn’t going there for any special reason whatsoever. I just really wanted to see her.“Sure you did. Reese is going to have my head today,” Zayn sighed.I took a quick glance at the man and noticed his attention was on his phone. He was probably talking to his mate. There was no doubt about that. Not like that was something that bothered me. Deep down, I knew it was something I could never have. I didn’t want one, never have and never will.“What did you do?” I asked.

LUCIANSpending the whole night obliging the drinking requests of my pack members was one thing. Waking up with a terrible hangover was another completely different thing.I winced as I cracked my neck to the side. The sunlight was just about peeking through the curtains, indicating that it was well past daytime.I got up from the bed, still feeling groggy from the night before. After my talk with Violet, I had left her room and had been cornered by Zayn.He pretty much dragged me to meet the other guys, and we spent the better part of the night drinking our hearts out. Now, I was suffering the consequences of it in the form of a splitting headache rocking through my head.If I closed my eyes, it could feel as if the migraine was getting a bit better. I had two options: stay in bed and let the headache wash through me or get up and look for some Tylenol. As attractive as the first option sounded, I knew that I had things to do today, so lying around doing nothing wasn’t exactly an opti
