Chapter 25 - The meeting
Everly POV
It’s been days since I spoke to Theodore, and I hate to admit that I am missing him. I am missing him more than I thought I would. He never really cared about me and about what I had to say or do, but now that my father left everything to me, he cares. Does he want to take over the mafia? I would never want anything to do with that. I don’t want this position.
We have an election today to decide who’s taking over for me. We decide to make it a democracy instead of a dictator leadership. I think it’s the best course of action, and after the decision has been made, I will have nothing to do with them, and my connection with them will be severed. I will be able to get a divorce from Theodore, but the agreements and the contracts will remain active. I would never do anything to make his life worse. I know how much that contract was important, and now I understand why they did this marriage.
