Elara managed to convince Mira to join her group and she explained in details how they would act, to Leo.

“You are so sure about this,” Leo said to her when she was done explaining his role. “What are you planning on doing with her?” he asked, referring to Mira.

Elara looked towards Mira and said, “It’s best for the conversation to happen naturally. That way, her feelings will be into it.” She then moved her eyes to where Cipher is. He has Rue and Jax with him and was explaining their roles to them.

“You’ve got this,” Leo tried cheering her up, at least, making sure she was least worried about anything. “So let’s go over it again. Once the game starts, I stay at the corner and watch you talk with Mira, then when I get the cue, I suddenly start coming over to you with the determination to kill and—”

Elara was lost of words. She couldn’t believe what she was seeing, but after now, things would start to take another shape. This is exactly what the game wants: to provide premium entertainment and fancy deaths. It means, to survive, one would have to be brutal, one would have to sacrifice so many things. In here, there are no rules for living, only rules for the game. Her stomach turned at the sight of blood and flesh sliced and it made her feel sick. No one should have to go through a thing like this. Mira didn’t deserve this, she thought as she watched her crouch next to Sam’s body, cradling him like a baby and sending him off. It was after he went still in her arms that she broke. She cried and hugged him tightly, like she had just lost someone precious to her.She moved her eyes and saw the guilty look on the other players faces. Without exempting herself, she knew they were all responsible. The adults are responsible for what had just happened. And despite herself, she couldn’t

Soon after the players all walked out and found out that someone had died, chaos broke out. Elara had made to find Cipher and question him, but something else caught her eyes almost immediately. She saw the rest of the players from the other teams whispering together and one drew out a knife and lunged forward. Elara’s eyes widened almost immediately and she tried to warn the blue-haired girl, but it would be too late to do that. The blue-haired girl caught her expression at the last minute and pulled her brows into a deep frown before hearing her name almost immediately.“Mira!”It was Sam, trying to warn her as he was suddenly being held back. She turned and grabbed the player who was about to attack her in sudden reflex before her eyes widen when she realized. She twisted his hand, making him scream out and she hit the knife away from his grip. She then shoved him to the ground and looked at the others.Everyone already gathered together now and Elara watched in horror as they all

[Players, you may now proceed to a door.]Cipher walked to a door and unlocked it with his key. Before stepping inside, he turned his head to look at the room Elara was entering and past her, he saw the blue-haired girl glaring at him. He gave a smirk and entered the room which closed back. He stopped and stared around the bright room with his hands in his pockets. The system voice came on. [Welcome player. You have received a pass in this game.]He scoffed and turned around. “That’s right,” he said. “I’m curious though,” he pulled his brows and looked up. “Is there any way I can see what the other players are up to?”[No. That is against the rule of the game, but if you keep insisting—]“No,” he laughed and shook his head. “Never mind.” He released a sigh and thought back on the elimination round where Elara had saved him. He hated how she made him feel confused about his feelings. He didn’t know either to hate her or just pretend to be angry.“She has no right. Why would she do that

"This game is brutal. Whoever came up with this must have a special place in hell," Leo said.Elara smiled and couldn't help but think about the actress that ended up in the asylum because of her writing. What kind of horror could the person have had by just reading? Then, maybe this was her punishment. Jax cleared his throat and crouched carefully next to them. "Um...with the way the game is going, can we really find the person holding the blank key?" He asked and his eyes moved almost everywhere. "You know, you can really trust me. Also, we are in the same group. Are you really not the one with it?" He directed his question to Elara."Hey!" Leo snapped at him. "Is it because no one told you your fault yet? We may be in the same group, but no one should trust you. You've been speaking with the other groups and they could easily turn you against us, not that you hadn't turned before.""So what? You think it's my fault? I'm just trying to survive here like everyone else. And what abou

Elara could see the anticipation in everyone's eyes; eyes waiting for someone to just drop dead. Why is the game so twisted? How did they end up in this world? Is there really any hope in getting back to their world? Is there even any bit of humanity here? Those are questions she kept asking herself... questions she probably won't get answers to. For all she knows, it could all end in a split second. [The player to be eliminated is...zero.]Gasps erupted from the crowd. They couldn't believe what they just heard. Even Cipher had a brief look of doubt which was quick to disappear when his eyes lowered."What? This doesn't make sense," a player said."But we all voted. How is someone not eliminated? It's not even a tie."The blue-haired girl gritted her teeth and clenched her hands so tight they could burst. "Is there something the game isn't telling us still?" She asked and screamed with rage. "This isn't making any sense."The system voice spoke again. [This was how the vote was dec
