Jamari’s POV Eve looks at us with an evil smirk on her face. “That can be arranged.” She says smugly, signaling to her vampires to attack. The Gods standing beside her let out a sigh before bracing themselves for an attack as well. Kenji leaps in front of me, growling out in warning, daring any creature to step forward and come after me. Rieka stirs within me, preparing herself in case she needs to come out to protect us. The sound of bones snapping draws my attention away from Ren standing in front of me and over to where I last saw Levi. His body conforms as his human appearance transitions into that of Damballa’s, well Damballa’s Demon version. Levi’s frame becomes more slender as he gains a couple extra inches, putting him at almost seven foot. His skin changes to the color red as scales appear all over his body, giving him more armor against physical attacks. A tail burst through the back of his jeans, swirling upwards, going further up than Levi’s head. A menacing growl er
Kenji’s POV “We have been searching this disaster of a library for over twenty minutes.” My voice coming out a bit whiny. I don’t know what is going on with Jamari right now, but I can’t shake this feeling of her being in danger. Thankfully it doesn’t appear that she has suffered through any more attacks since that one. Uncle Luc stops looking through the pile of books in front of him, letting out a heavy sigh. “I never realized just how many of my books are the color green.” He says to me, turning around to face me. He leans against the table behind him, a thoughtful looking gripping his face. Uncle Luc’s eyes roam around the room, eyes focused on the different piles of books spread out around the room. He crosses his arms over his chest, pulling one hand up to rub at his goatee, something he is known for when deep in thought. I set down the book I was looking at and move in his direction. Somehow I don’t think the spell will be in ‘Cooking For Ogres 101’. Not even sure why Unc
Kenji’s POV Without consulting Levi, we both launch ourselves into the horde of Undead that are getting ready to attack us and steal away our mate. I take a step back in my mind, giving Ren control of our body so he can set his savage side loose. We rip through warrior after warrior with our massive teeth and claws, leaving scattered body parts in our wake. Tuning out the chaos going on around us, our only focus is to slaughter as many of the enemy as we can in order to keep them away from our mate. Levi jumps into the madness by our side, slashing and tearing at warriors alongside us. The floor becomes littered with the remnants of our prey within moments of us jumping into their midst. When there are no other enemies standing before us, we turn to look over the battlefield, searching for more enemies to take down. Out of the corner of our eye we see the General of Osiris’s army making his way over to where Jamari stands all alone, his two sickles rising in the air as he slams t
Jamari’s POV “You are in DUAT.” Osiris’s voice grows louder when he says the word Duat. “This is the place where the dead reside.” A cocky smirk appears on his face. “Did you really think that you could take down my army so easily?” Laughter bubbles up from his chest, echoing off of the walls, surrounding us with its evil sound. “I told you we should have handed over the girl Nehma!” Thoth exclaims, fear leaking from his pores, stinking up the space. “We are no match for an army that cannot die.” His eyes widen in horror as more bodies start to rise from the floor, reattching limbs as they come back to life. Levi and Kenji flank me on both sides, a worried look crossing between them as they stare out at the army they had just killed, all coming back to fight once more. “We won’t be able to keep this up forever.” Levi says, his eyes roaming the enemy forces. “Why did you come back?” Nehmetawy asks me suddenly, causing my brows to rise in surprise. Her eyes meet mine, her fear evid
Kenji’s POV“You are in DUAT.” Osiris’s voice bellows out at us, innunciating the word Duat louder. “This is the place where the dead reside.” A cocky smirk appears on his face. “Did you really think that you could take down my army so easily?” The sound of his laughter bubbling up from his chest fills the temple, bouncing off of the walls all around us. Levi and I flank Jamari on both sides. I look over her head at him, a worried look appearing on his face as well. We turn as one to look over the army we just defeated as they rise from the floor once more, ready to fight again. “We won’t be able to keep this up forever.” Levi says, his eyes roaming the enemy forces.“Can you teleport us out of here?” I ask, keeping my eyes focused on the enemy forces, bracing myself for an attack. “My teleportation powers are cut off in Duat.” Levi growls, frustration in his voice. “I’ve been trying since the moment we entered this place and caught Thoth strangling Nehmetawy.”This is not good. We
Levi’s POVI stood staring in aww as Jamari unleashed power I didn’t know she was even able to wield. Dark electricity buzzed all around her, something she must have gotten from being mated to Remiel, but different from his in its darkness. And the cold power that she sent out from her body in all directions…that power felt like something an Ancient Vampire would have. How did Jamari get a hold of Vampire magic? She hasn’t even met her vampire mate yet, let alone had the opportunity to mate with him. Is it possible for her to pull power from a mate she hasn’t met yet? I guess at this point anything is possible, but even in this situation that seems a bit far fetched. But alas, here we are, Jamari used that dark power and took control of Osiris’s army. All around us Osiris’s army stays rooted in their spots, kneeling on the floor in our direction. Despite the fact that Jamari is now passed out in Kenji’s arms, the Lycan having changed back to his human form to keep her more comforta
Jamari’s POV“You think to challenge me, little girl?” Osiris’s voice mocks me as his laughter dies down. “I have walked this Universe longer than even your Goddess Athena that is buried deep within you.” My eyes widen in surprise at his remark. Osiris smirks at me with a cocky flare. “Oh yes, my dear.” He tells me matter of factly. “I know about the Goddess hidden within you.”I cast nervous eyes in Eve’s direction. Athena is not something that I want Eve to know about. Osiris’s face softens for the first time since I’ve met him. “She can not hear what we are saying.” He reassures me, flashing a grin in Eve’s furious direction. “That woman thinks she can control a God.” He hmmps as he waves mockingly at Eve.Osiris turns his attention back towards me, his eyes watching as the Leader of his army moves to my side, his sickles gripped in his hands tightly. The rest of the Undead Army stand to their feet, turning towards the Gods that once controlled them. “While I commend the power tha
Jamari’s POV ‘Did he just call us his Queen?’ I ask Rieka, thinking I had misheard what the giant God just said. ‘That’s what we heard.’ Kenji's voice flits through my mind. ‘This is too much!’ Panic begins to set in within me. ‘Please make them stop.’ I cast pleading eyes in Levi’s direction, the sound of his laughter floats through my mind as he laughs at my discomfort. ‘You’re Queen of all Okami, you’re going to have to get used to this.’ Levi’s calming presence eases my discomfort as he comes up beside me, a wicked gleam in his eyes. The mischievous King was enjoying this immensely. Kenji comes up on my other side, sending his protective essence around me like a warm blanket. “Are you going to stay down there all day?” Levi asks, humour in his voice. Osiris grimaces as he rises to his feet, the rest of the Gods and Goddessess following his movement. Horace the Elder chuckles at Levi’s taunting words, his arms still crossed over his chest. “What is going on?” I can’t
