Susan's POV

After a very nice bath- nicer than anything I had ever experienced before- Caitlyn, Justin, and I changed into a set of warm, comfy clothes and went down to the dining hall for dinner.

“That bath was so good~ I still feel so warm inside and out~” Caitlyn said in a slightly dazed state.

“Me, too,” Justin said sleepily, as I carried him in my arms as we make our way to dinner.

“Hey, don’t fall asleep just yet. We’re going to have dinner soon,” I told him. “You don’t want to miss out on that, do you?”

Justin groaned a bit at my question, before lightly smacking himself in the face to keep himself awake. I chuckled a bit at the sight of that. The drive had been long, and though Pularis had been considerate enough to make some stops along the way to his pack, that did nothing to help Justin with much of his boredom.

‘Still, I’m glad it ended without an incident,’ I thought, thinking back to the bath. Particularly, how the maids were acting around us.

They didn’t do anything tha

  • Rise of the Alpha's Rejected Luna   The Misunderstanding That Came to Be

Pularis's POVMy face was buried in my hands. Words can never express the emotions I have felt, hearing the things I have heard from these damn elders and advisors. The latter group I heavily question if they should still be considered as such.“So, let me see if I have this right. When I contacted you through the link that I was highly recommending one of our newest members for a Beta position, spoke of her achievements in her home pack, that somehow got translated into me wanting her to be my Luna?” I questioned, pinching the bridge of my nose, as I held back the urge to growl- no, ‘snarl’- at these imbeciles before me. They who shuddered in fright. Dismay. Why, for all I know, they may as well be embarrassed with themselves for making such an inaccurate assumption! In fact, it was not even an assumption, when last I checked, I made it VERY clear that I was offering her the Beta role. “That’s our mistake, Alpha. At the time, we were talking about possible candidates to be your Luna

  • Rise of the Alpha's Rejected Luna   Luna Exam Application

To say that I was shocked was actually an understatement, given what I heard. In fact, with how little sleep I had, I must have heard her wrong.“I’m sorry, could you repeat that? I could’ve sworn you said there’s an exam for Lunas taking place here,” I asked.“You did not hear wrong. That’s exactly the sort of exam taking place right now,” the receptionist answered.I grew more baffled at the confirmation, now wondering if Philip drove me to the wrong site.“I must be at the wrong place then. I’m here for an exam for Betas,” I told her.“You seem to have been misinformed or misunderstood something, because you are not at the wrong place. Your name is on as one of the candidates. Recommended by the Alpha himself.”I looked at her, confused with her claim, when she handed me the clipboard she was looking through. I looked through the list, and saw my name was truly amongst the many on there. And on the top of the list? The title of the list: Luna Exam Applicants.I shook my head in dis

  • Rise of the Alpha's Rejected Luna   Taking the Beta Exam... Right?

Susan's POVI was so nervous for this exam, I could barely sleep a wink last night. I had tried to, but my mind kept having thoughts and questions about the upcoming Beta Exam, I started to grow worried, and it became that much harder to sleep at night. Not even watching Justin’s sleeping face has eased me of my worries and lull me back to dreamland. If anything, doing that made things a little worse, as I am also reminded that I was not getting this position just for me, but for Justin as well. I would’ve been fine if it was any other position, if those other positions would allow my son to be with Pularis, see him as his good uncle like back in the Bluemoon Pack.Next thing I knew, the sun was rising, and I had to get myself ready for this test. After I had washed up and had a filling breakfast, I made my way to the test site. So was the plan, when the driver from yesterday, Phillip, was kind enough to drop me off at my destination instead. I had thought it to be odd, given how all

  • Rise of the Alpha's Rejected Luna   Meeting for the Beta… Is It?

I arrived in the living room, where many of my pack’s elders and advisors sat in various seats, waiting for me. Amongst the many in the room was Grandmother, much to my surprise, as she stopped getting involved in Alpha business after her retirement.‘If she is here, she must want to be involved in this for some reason,’ I suspected. A suspicion that turned into confusion. ‘If that is true, then why doesn’t she say anything to the rest of these old dogs? Why me?’‘As if she can tell us that now. You have a meeting to finish,’ my wolf reminded me.I sighed when he pointed that out, though did not argue. Not when I know there are some certain few individuals who would not know ‘patience’ if it hits them in the face.“Advisors. Elders,” I greeted, not looking forward to this meeting one bit. “Do tell. To what do I owe this little pleasure? I have just returned and heard nothing of anything in need of attention.”“Except there is something in dire need of it. Rather, we would like to dema

  • Rise of the Alpha's Rejected Luna   The Demand to Meet

When I woke up the next day, things were pretty much normal now for me. At least, it was normal in my opinion. Waking up just as the sun rose, freshen up a bit, go down for breakfast. Felt like forever since I was able to do all those. Feeling at ease and relaxed in doing them. The past several weeks had been incredibly exhausting, more mentally than it was physically. And though I was glad that it was over just some days back, the ride back from that pack was not as pleasant in the slightest. Still, at least it was all over now, and it was back to the usual for me.“Morning, Uncle Pularis!” Ah, right. It was not entirely the usual for me now. Not with some guests now living in my abode for a while. Well, not that I find it unpleasant. In fact, it was actually a nice change, having a child in my life. He who was having breakfast at the table with Caitlyn by him.He may not be mine in any way, but I find his presence pleasant. He was in no way rowdy, not as any child his age would no

  • Rise of the Alpha's Rejected Luna   To Be Prepared for the Test

"My test is tomorrow?!” I gasped, extremely shocked at the news, as I, Justin, and Caitlyn sat at the table with Pularis. All servants in the household standing around us, watching us as we eat. An atmosphere different from back at Duncan’s place. “As it would seem. I don’t know if they want to give me a reason to not have an outsider so close to me, much less have one join in my pack permanently, but that is what the advisors had decided upon. So I was told,” Pularis answered, eyeing one of the butlers as he said that. The butler who avoided eye contact, though seemed a bit frightened. “Regardless, I believe you are able to overcome this trial. Your experience as Luna should help you greatly. Even more so as you had handled with many matters an Alpha should be handling.”“So you say, but I would still like to be mentally prepared for this test, at least. I highly doubt things here will be in any way similar to how things are in the Bluemoon Pack,” I reasoned.“Were you prepared to h
