Susan's POV

I stood right by the inn's door, filled with much uncertainty. Not in my place here, but more with the makeover done onto me.

"I really think this is a little much..." I said to Ayla and Beatrix.

"Nonsense. This is your big return, after all. The mutts outside believe you have died, remember? Amongst them being the ones who have tormented you so. With how things are, it is more of a crime to not dress you up properly,” Beatrix claimed.

“Beatrix is right. Besides, those people need to know one way or another. That you are no longer some dog they can just pick on. Especially not that ‘Alpha’ who wronged you and Justin.”

I sighed at the points they made. It wasn’t as though there were any flaws with them, as it was more that the points they made more depended on if the people were willing to listen to me. Hear me out like they would anyone else. I can at least easily name one person who would would rather hear crickets than any reasons from me. Yes, Beatrix did manage to giv

  • Rise of the Alpha's Rejected Luna   'Illness' Revealed

All eyes turned to the she wolf when she spoke up, excluding Dingo, who remained neutral.“And why is it not necessary, Ashley?” Dingo questioned.“B-Because, he’s just a quack! How do we even know if what he claims is ever valid?” the girl answered with a stutter. An answer that made many of us jurors frown, whereas the apothecary let out a pained gasp.“My word, Miss Ashley! How could you say such a thing?!” he asked. “I have considered you my best customer. My very own VIP! The one werewolf who actually uses my service without much complaint with the side effects! You even asked for custom-made medicine from me. Which by the way, no matter how I think of it, it does not sound like medicine at all. If the negative effects were side effects, that would be one thing. But you requested that I make that more potent instead. Claimed that the additional pain would help remedy this ‘illness’ you asked for. And yeah, I am a ‘quack’ as you claim, and I like my business to get going, but even

More whispers followed in the crowd, as they stared at the disgraceful mutt in dread and disgust. Behind me, I could hear Anderson scoff at their reactions.“Hmph. How the times change so easily,” he muttered. “These dogs would just believe in anything their ‘dear Alpha’ says, wouldn’t they? I admit, I thought your habit of crushing down unworthy packs was questionable, but if it was to get rid of mutts like these guys, looks like the method is very quick and effective.”I rolled my eyes at his ‘observation’, as he knew nothing of the whole truth with these dogs. “You think they never tried to speak up before? You really are not ready for this position, after all, daddy’s boy,” I stated, causing him to frown.“Well, isn’t it true? Otherwise, that dog wouldn’t-”“Remind us, Anderson, why this trial came to be? Exactly how did it all start, really?” Sephora interrupted. “You think information on other packs are given to us from birds? That the Moon Goddess would be the one who tells us

  • Rise of the Alpha's Rejected Luna   Previous Alpha's Testimony

Once Dingo had his turn to give his testimony, the next hour was spent with him unveiling the many things his son had done. Things that no Alpha would ever do. And though I had seen the evidence myself when they were first presented to me, seeing it all again here was still quite the shock, if one can be honest about this.“As everyone can see here, my son has been using the pack’s very finances not for any business related activities, much less anything regarding our former allies. Instead, it’s all been used for his own entertainment. For his own personal reasons,” Dingo said, revealing a long list of transactions done with the pack’s funds. Not personal, but the pack’s.“Oh come on! What’s the big deal? It’s not like I stole money from anyone!” the disgraceful mutt exclaimed. A ‘defense’ that made many frown on him.The judge was about to slam his gavel down on his table, when Dingo raised a hand to stop him, catching his attention more. I could see it in his eyes; the determined l

  • Rise of the Alpha's Rejected Luna   Witness: Former Alpha

Entering the room, walking down the aisle, was none other than former Alpha Dingo, the disgraceful mutt’s father. “Father? What are you doing here?” the mutt dared ask. Dingo looked to his son in dismay at the question. “What do you think I am here for? Or has His Honor’s words gone through one ear and out the other?” he retorted, indirectly answering the question.Disbelief filled the mutt, as he shook his head in denial. “You’re joking… You’re siding with them?!”The shout may be the last straw on the former Alpha, as he retorted, “I side with my people! My people who were supposed to look to you- their current Alpha!- for their problems and improvements on the pack! For a leader who does his job and lead his pack! Instead, as I gave you this position, what has become of the very pack I once led, and the Alphas before me?! Instead of leading them, making plans of improvements for them, do what any Alpha would do for their people, you spent so much time and resources spoiling just

  • Rise of the Alpha's Rejected Luna   The Trial Taking Place

Pularis's POVWhat is there to say about the trial going on?“This is all nothing more than an attack! You’re just jealous that you’re nothing more than broke and failed mutts compared to me! The Alpha!”‘Ridiculous’. That’s what. And the source? Why, who else but the whiny mutt this whole thing was for?I sat with my fellow councilmen in the jurors section of the trial, watching as everything- all that disgraceful mutt’s wrongs- get revealed. Not only from the many evidence we’ve collected, but also from the testimonies we’ve received from several witnesses. That is… witnesses and victims. And as it would turn out, there were plenty of people who had it out for this mutt. Plenty who were wronged, and were more than happy to see this dog fall. And of course, amidst it all, that disgraceful mutt refuses to accept the facts when revealed right in front of him.“To be sure, you said the people who were called up were ‘witnesses’, correct?” Sephora asked in a low whisper. “I cannot help n

  • Rise of the Alpha's Rejected Luna   Makeover

"Miss Susan. Miss Susan.”It did not feel long into my nap that I heard someone calling my name, shaking me awake. I opened my eyes and saw it was none other than Ayla who woke me up.“Ayla? Is it time already?” I asked.“Soon to be. Alpha Pularis informed me that the trial is about halfway done,” she answered.I widened my eyes in surprise with the response. “‘Halfway done’? You mean, the trial is nearly over?”I may not be an official judge or a lawyer, but I knew enough about the procedures in a trial. After an opening statement involving the concerned individual, evidences were to be shown, including testimonies from witnesses. After testimonies and evidences were given out, jurors would discuss them and decide on a verdict for the involved party, which then leads to the sentencing. For the trial to be halfway done…“My apologies. It seems I’ve misspoke,” Ayla said. “What I mean is more than half the evidence and testimonies were shown. Your turn is coming up soon.”That made me

  • Rise of the Alpha's Rejected Luna   Stressed for the Trial

Susan's POVI roamed about in my room, concerned with how quiet it suddenly got downstairs. Even though I knew all witnesses were to remain in our respective room until our summons, I couldn't help wondering if it was also appropriate for us to not at least greet the judges and jurors sent by the Council of Wolves. Particularly when some of those wolves are the councilmen like Pularis. "Miss, you need to stop that worrying. Everything will be fine," Ayla assured me."Do you even know what I'm anxious about?" I lightly retorted."If I were to make an assumption, perhaps something along the lines of properly meeting the other councilmen in the lobby?" I was taken aback by how accurate her guess was, in which she giggled at. "You're not the first werewolf who is troubled by such thought, as is this is not the first time the councilmen had to be directly involved in a trial."Hearing that made me feel a little bit better, as I sat down on the bed. “Yeah… Yeah, that’s exactly how I feel,”

  • Rise of the Alpha's Rejected Luna   Preparing the Trial II

Pularis's POVI stood amongst the many judges and jurors who were summoned for this case in Howler's Inn. If I may dare admit, I was surprised to see the large number of people coming for this from the headquarters. Helpers from their respective packs or general acquaintances who practiced for trials, maybe. But not-“Pularry~ How’s it going, my man?” a werewolf greeted so casually, wrapping an arm around my shoulder, as I sighed at his action.“Anderson… Carefree as per usual, I see,” I groaned, far from pleased to see this wolf. And not just because he annoys me about as much as any foolish werewolf with much ego and arrogance. “And here I thought you would learn to actually behave as any werewolf in your position would by now, councilman.”“What? And be an uptight mutt?” Anderson retorted with a chuckle. “Nice joke there. See? I knew there was a real funny bone in you.”A hand chopped down on his head hard, causing him to fall on his knees, his arm slipped off me, as he held his he
