That night, Kenna didn’t return. I’ve been alone for a long time, but for some reason, the empty room feels even more lonely.I sit on my bed, looking around the room. When Ishir and Avani returned, Avani said that they ran into a place where he could feel the magic, but he wasn’t able to remove it. Even flying and trying to go around it, they couldn’t catch the scent or trail of the witch and warlock, so they lost them. They even took Cedric and several Alpha wolves out to see if they could catch the scent, but the magic was strong and they weren’t able to continue following them.Kenna and Yhendorn didn’t return for several more days, which meant that I got to spend my days with Emmi and Phoenix, and a large portion of my nights as well. After classes, I met Ajax downstairs in the big house. He said we’d walk over together to have dinner with his family. As always, the moment he sees me, his face breaks into a huge smile.“Hello, beautiful!” he says, kissing me, then taking my hand and leading me out the front door of the Big House. As usual, my mate says hello to everyone. Life slowly started getting back to normal. After Kenna forced me to start getting up and interacting again, I realized how much had truly happened while I’d been mourning the loss of Phoenix.
