Chapter One: Cheating Husband

Although the reporter presented the news with a smiling face, every word he said was like a knife to Anastasia's heart.

"The great businessman Arthur George was spotted in the love city, Paris, with the upcoming new model Ashley. They were looking great together. Are they dating? If you are also interested in knowing, keep your eyes on our channel.

Anastasia picked up the remote and shut down the television. She looked at the magazine's cover, and a hot tear rolled down her cheeks. It was her beloved husband, Arthur George, and Ashley's picture. Arthur was holding her hand as if she were so precious to him. Anastasia threw the magazine and covered her ear.

"Are they really dating as the rumors say?" What about me then?" Who am I to him? An unwanted wife who failed to give him an heir? Was our four years of married life nothing to him?" Anastasia hugged herself tightly as tears kept falling from her eyes. She looks devastated. Her face was pale, her eyes were red from crying, and her dress was messy. The news had a big impact on her.

"What the hell am I thinking? How could I doubt my husband? Just because they spotted together it doesn't mean they are in love or in any relationship. Arthur will never do this to me, and Ashley is my cousin, so why would I doubt her? It was I who requested Arthur to give her a supporting hand to fulfil her dream as a model.

Ashley will never do this to me. She knew how much I loved Arthur. As soon as she uttered these words just then her phone buzzed with an unexpected news alert, startling her. She picked up her phone immediately.

She knew this news was about her husband as she subscribed to a business channel just to see her husband's dashing face and his success.

“Gorge Group CEO, Arthur George, spotted at the Airport late at night, with his mysterious girlfriend, after spending romantic days in Paris.”

The photo that accompanied the headline captured Arthur at the airport’s private terminal entrance, clad in his favorite color black suit. He stood with impeccable posture, exuding an undeniable aura of authority. His eyes conveyed a softness, a tender warmth that Anastasia had never ever observed before for her. She didn't even know her husband could look at someone like this.

Shock flashed across Anastasia's face as her heart thudded painfully in her chest, the sharp sensation nearly stealing her breath.

Anastasia felt as if her heart was about to burst. She felt as if someone had inserted a sharp knife into her heart and blood was continuously flowing from there. The tears were trying to burst out of her chest, but they kept getting stuck in her throat.

It took a considerable effort for her to regain her composure. Clutching onto a tiny hope like a straw floating in the water, she clicked on the article, and her body was trembling badly.

As she had feared, two familiar faces filled the screen, Arthur George and her cousin Ashley. They were together, laughing. The phone fell from her hand.

A feeling of intense pain spread through Anastasia, a deep sorrow embedding itself deep within her heart. "Is it really true?" Anastasia asked herself. Deep down she knew Arthur had never loved her. She wasn't the ideal partner for him.

She was only the wife in name for him; it was his late grandfather who put pressure on him to secure the position of chairman of the board, and he was in dire need of a compliant wife. His Grandfather had chosen her as she saved his grandfather's life once.

Arthur couldn't deny the last request of his grandfather on his deathbed and arranged to marry Anastasia. After his grandfather died, Anastasia thought the marriage would be over, but Arthur never mentioned anything about it. At that moment Anastasia thought maybe he wanted to spend his life with her.

So, she sacrificed everything she had and she could become his ideal wife. Anastasia was in the maze when someone knocked at the door.

Anastasia hurriedly wiped her tears and spoke up, "Who is it?"

The Butler's worried voice came outside the door, "Ma'am the car is ready"

"I am coming," Anastasia replied, looking outside the window. She had an appointment with the doctor. The last few days she had been feeling sick, so she had decided to go to the hospital.

To hide her pale face, Anastasia put light makeup on her face and came downstairs. The Butler was waiting for her. "Has he returned?" Anastasia looked at the Butler and uttered those words

"No, Ma'am. Young Master is still in Paris. He will probably come back tomorrow." No sooner had these words reached Anastasia's ear than the doubt in her heart and mind disappeared instantly.

"So, they are making news based on some rumors. I knew Arthur would never do this to me," Anastasia muttered happily and left while the Butler lowered his head in shame. He didn't want to lie but there was no choice.

At Hospital

Anastasia was waiting at the doctor's cabin. After some time the doctor came.

"I am so sorry, Mrs. George, for keeping you waiting." The gynecologist put the reports on her desk and gave her an apologetic smile.

"It's okay. Did you get my reports?" Anastasia asked her.

"Congratulations, Mrs. George, you are three months pregnant. You are having triplets. You can know the gender of the babies after two months " The gynecologist handed the ultrasound report to Anastasia. No sooner had she heard about her pregnancy than her heart filled up with immense joy.

"Then why am I feeling pain in my belly? Is there any problem doctor? Are my babies okay?" Anastasia asked earnestly, putting her hands on her belly. She was so worried about her babies.

"Your babies are perfectly okay, Mrs. George. It is normal" The doctor explained.

Anastasia took the report with trembling hands. She was so nervous yet happy. God heard her prayer. At last, she had Arthur's baby.

Anastasia thanked the gynecologist with a soft smile before leaving the hospital with a copy of the report.

She entered the car and put the report inside her bag.

Anastasia took out her phone to call Arthur, but she stopped in the middle. She wanted to deliver this joyful news in person.

Arthur will be over the moon to hear this piece of news. Anastasia smiled. Just then, she received a message from Arthur.

A big smile spread on her face when she read the message. "I will be back tonight. I have something important to say. Wait for me, don't sleep"

I will tell him the news in a special way" Anastasia gently caressed her belly. After a while, she breathed a sigh of relief. Thankfully, the babies are okay.

"Mommy is so happy my babies. Your daddy is going to be overjoyed," Anastasia caressed her belly gently.

The driver spoke up, "Madam, would you like to head home?"

"Yes, take me home," Anastasia told him

The driver nodded and began to steer the car toward the direction of George Mansion.

Half an hour later, the vehicle came to a halt in front of George Mansion

Anastasia picked up her bag and strode into the house with a big smile. She wanted to cook Arthur's favorite food for dinner." Tomorrow is our fourth anniversary. I will tell him the news after twelve as his gift," Anastasia muttered happily, totally unaware of the storm coming her way.
