Solemn enemy

*****Leo POV*****

I am Leonard Booi, the lord of the Booi mafia. I rule the north coast and a bit of the south just to piss off the Davi’s. The bastards deserve it and worse for wiping out my family. Besides my cousin, Owen and uncle, Wesley, I have no other blood relatives. Thanks to Nick Davi. This is why at the age twenty-five, I am the mafia lord.

I walk out of the shower and look at the clock. I have enough time before the volatile princess’s wedding. This is the event I can’t afford to miss. The whole mafia world will be in attendance. It’s not everyday that you get to use the front door to your enemy’s mansion and even shake his hand. It will also be good to cash up with other monsters like me. Maybe some collaborations, I could even meet someone with balls to take on the Davi’s, because my lesser rival the Siko’s are still leaking their wounds after Nick attacked them five years back.

With a towel still wrapped around my waist, I see her. My drop-dead gorgeous solemn enemy, walking around in her white lacy panty. She is oblivious to the spyglass I have in her bedroom. I keep tabs on all of them and one day I will pounce. Okay, maybe I keep more tabs on her than the rest.

I curse inside when big Leo awakens, somehow she has that effect on him, the big little traitor. Smooth, golden tanned skin, brown piercing eyes and luscious lips that leave you wondering how they taste. Then there’s her just perfect breast that are currently just staring at me.

“Shit! This chick is everything!” I exclaim out loud. I am a bit disappointed when she puts on her wedding dress while I am still literally drooling over her. The white strapless dress looks really good on her, but so is every clothing she wears. I still prefer her clothe-less though. Now that she’s covered, something else cashes my eye. Her breathtaking smile. I hardly ever see that because she’s always spitting venom and glaring at me. I must admit that most of that is my fault. After her father shot my mother point blank in front of me to avenge his wife, I took out my anger on her and made her life hell at school. I literally hunted her down every break time just to mess with her. She, of course, like a fierce mafia princess she is, never took it lying down. I had to wear a shield everyday to protect my poor balls and future heirs because she never missed and always left me groaning. Her fucked up brother also hunted me down each time I messed with her and made me pay for it. In actual sense I paid double for my actions but none of that stopped me. I was so angry, I needed to punch someone or be punched and she was perfect for that.

My eyes are still glued on her. She’s actually glowing and I wonder if she’s really into Ethan. I have tabs on him too. His family business is at the verge of bankruptcy. Collaboration can’t be the reason she’s marrying him. Besides his good looks which are nothing compared to mine, I can’t find any reason why the mafia princess is marrying him. I don’t wonder too long though because her arrogant asshole of a brother walks in and now I know her motives.

‘Little princess is tired of the throne’ I smirk as I get dressed. Someone should break it to her that no one ever walks out of the mafia. Not when it’s in your bloodline anyway. I am about to turn off the spyglass when I hear my name being mentioned. Jake really hates his soon to be brother-in-law. So much that he does not mind if she bangs and kills me instead. Big Leo is now hard as fuck as I imagine myself devour that body. I’m the least worried about the second part of the statement where she blows my head off and take over my empire.

“Get your priorities straight, Leo, and you too treacherous jerk,” I rebuke myself and my stony hard dick right before my cousin walks in.

“You should learn to knock, you prick,” I say sharply. I have lost count of the many occasions Owen has walked in on me while I’m indecent or devouring some pussy. His solution is that I should lock my door but I don’t feel like doing that in my own mansion.

He ignores me as usual and comes to look at the spyglass. “Drop dead gorgeous. No wonder you are pissed and your third leg’s is up,” he smirks.

I don’t bother to follow his gaze to my waist because I know that the treacherous bastard is indeed up.

“Do you want me to remove Ethan?” Owen asks with a straight face.

“What for?” I ask sharply. I don’t joke about hurting the innocent.

“So you can continue drooling over your enemy,” he says.

I ignore him and continue getting dressed.

“Then you are cool with Ethan breaking the seal?” Owen asks with a huge grin when I ignore him. “Rumours are our princess has never been touched and he can’t wait for the honeymoon,” he adds, striking a nerve.

“Fuck off!” I say, giving him a deadly look. It really bugs me that I care that she is getting married and that I can’t do anything legal to stop her.

Owen laughs so loud I just want to punch his face. He is still laughing when I finish getting dressed and load my pistol.

Nothing out of the ordinary happens until we arrive at the famous Davi mansion. It’s called a mansion for the lack of a better word for a massive, off the grid estate and a fortress.

It’s evident to everyone in attendance that the Davi’s did no spare any cost in preparation for this wedding. Besides Ethan’s relatives who are obviously uncomfortable being here, everyone else is mafia. To my disappointment, there’s no one here with big enough balls to take on the Davi’s with me. It seems that I will have to do this all alone then.

“This place is so closed off, Nick can wipe out all of us and bury us without anyone ever finding out,” I joke to Owen who does not appreciate my dark joke. He has been on urge since we arrived. I don’t blame him. He also lost his family in this multigenerational vendetta.

“Do we have to stay?” Owen asks.

“What’s the rush, Cuz. Look, here comes the bride,” I say as the three Davi’s walk down the aisle. In front, Ethan has a huge grin with his eyes glued on his radiating bride.

Owen’s words start playing over in my head “Rumours are he can’t wait for the honeymoon.”

He is an innocent man, my motto is to never touch the innocent, but I can’t help wanting to blow his head off and take his place. I’m still rebuking my mind when Owen pulls me to the ground with his weapon drawn out. Around us, the rest of the mafia guest are also on the floor with their weapons also drawn out. The horrified screams from the groom’s family fill the hall as they all cram together on the floor covering their heads. It takes me seconds to realise what just happened. The bride is on her knees scanning around with her weapon drawn out.

“She looks so damn sexy like that,” I think before I notice that her dress is soaked with blood. I suppress the urge to run to her before realising that it’s not her blood but her brother’s.

The arrogant mighty Jake lays in front of her, lifeless. The halls become dead silent as extra layers I assume to be impenetrable, roll down to cover the walls and windows. I don’t know what surveillance technology this is but on those walls we can see the surrounding areas around the estate. Nick zooms in at the figure 500km north and there is the sniper still firing away. That’s when I get the confirmation that the Davi house is now a bullet proof, impenetrable fortress because those bullets are not coming in. Immediately after that, drones fly straight to the sniper and open fire to his legs. I am certain that they are programmed like that to disable the intruder but keep him alive for questioning.

“Slick! No wonder Nick is the only mafia lord to reach the fifth decade,” I think to myself while making a mental note to hunt whoever designed his security system. I know that I’m not the only one here who wants their hands on that. A completely secured home is important for a good peaceful sleep in our world.

“Shit!” I curse inside as Nick and his man spring out to go and grab the sniper.

I can’t wrap my head around how someone was stupid enough to kill the vengeful devil’s heir. I hardly ever pray but I hope it’s not any of my man because I have no man power to go against the Davi’s. None of the people in this hall do.

I exchange looks with Owen that we need to get out of here fast. I definitely did not give the order but our men do go rogue sometimes and act on their own. That will not matter to Nick though.

“Everyone out now,” I hear Nikita’s unmistakable commanding voice. We all get up and head to the exit. We, the mafia don’t need to be told twice. The last time Nick lost his wife, he went on a killing rampage, leaving most of us orphans. Now he has lost his only son, it is safe to say that we are all doomed.

I am about to exit with Owen on my side when I hear Ethan’s question and turn around.

“This is a crime scene, Niki. We have to all remain here until the police arrive and take our statements,” he says while tugging on her arm, making me flinch. Does he have to touch her?

“What are you doing?” Owen asks as I walk back to join them.

It’s stupid, I know, but I can’t help myself.

“No police. You all keep your mouths shut, that’s the mafia way,” she responds before she sees me and her eyes become deadly cold.

“It’s called the Omertà. Well articulated, like a true mafia princess,” I say, looking at her straight in the eye.

“Fuck off before I blow your head off!” she explodes, pointing and pressing her handgun on my brow.

I grin at her while fighting the urge to pull her into my arms. I know how close she and Jake were and I can’t help but feel sorry for her, but I can’t entertain any of that.

I see Ethan and his family backing away from us. They are shocked by her outburst, but I’m not. I know too well how volatile she is. I was betting on her reaction.

“Now there are two left in the Davi empire. It’s almost a draw in the DBS society. I’m looking forward to going against you when you take over the throne from your devil dad,” I say and leave her fuming.

“You are now the heiress, aren’t you?” I hear Ethan asking with a depressed tone as I walk away with a huge grin.

“Heartless bastard!” Owen exclaims as he realises what I have done.

I did not have to kill anyone, but there will be no wedding for the princess. I can bet my life on it.
