Cameron’s POV

The room was loud. Not with music or laughter—just voices, shoes squeaking on polished floors, phones buzzing, someone calling for more chairs. All of it clashed in my ears while I stood in the suite’s mirror, adjusting my collar for the third time.

Erica sat behind me on the couch, one leg tucked under her, scrolling through photos she’d taken already. “You’re gonna make yourself bald if you keep running your hands through your hair like that.”

I smirked. “Too late. I already stress-shed like a golden retriever.”

She snorted. “Relax, Cam. You look stupidly good. Like, almost illegal levels of good.”

I turned and faced her, exhaling hard. “It’s not how I look. It’s him. Standing there, waiting for me. That part feels real. Everything else just… doesn’t.”

Before she could reply, the door opened—and in walked my father.

I froze. His suit was perfectly tailored, his expression not so much. It was stiff, tight around the mouth. A warning in a face. He dismissed Erica with ju

I didn’t look back. Not once. His voice kept echoing behind me—sharp, angry, desperate—but I didn’t stop. I walked out of that giant villa with my chest tight and my hands clenched and my heart screaming a million different things at once.He was still yelling.“Cameron! Don’t you dare walk away from me! Do you hear me?!”But I walked faster. The gravel crunched under my sneakers as I hit the driveway. The sky looked weirdly soft, like it didn’t know whether to rain or shine. My stomach twisted. Everything in me wanted to scream, to cry, to laugh—something. Anything.I heard the door slam behind me, and then—A thud.A sharp, heavy thud.I paused.Voices behind me. Yelling again—but not the angry kind. The panicked kind.“Sir? Mr. Weller? Somebody call an ambulance!”My body froze. I turned around just in time to see the butler dash past the entryway like something had gone terribly wrong. My heart dropped.No. No. No.I ran back in.And that’s when I saw him. On the floor. Pale. Eyes

  • Rival's Contract Marriage    Chapter 137

Chapter: The StandCameron stood in front of the giant oak doors of his father’s office. His hands were trembling, but not from fear this time. From anger. From everything he’d swallowed for months. Years. He knocked.“Come in,” came the deep voice from inside.Cameron stepped in and closed the door behind him. His father, Dorian Weller, was seated behind a large mahogany desk, reading a newspaper like it was still 1995. The room smelled like wood polish and power. The kind of space built to make you feel small. But today, Cameron wasn’t playing small.“I want to talk,” he said.Dorian didn’t look up. “If it’s about that drama with Brandon again, I’m not interested.”Cameron’s jaw tightened. “I’m calling off the engagement.”That got his attention. The paper lowered. Slowly. Deliberately. Dorian’s cold eyes found his son’s. “Excuse me?”“I said I’m calling off the engagement,” Cameron repeated, firmer now. “I can’t marry someone I don’t trust.”Dorian stood, pushing his chair back. “Y

Brandon’s POVI stared at the call screen, my thumb hovering over the redial button for what felt like forever. The longer I waited, the worse it got. The silence was unbearable. My phone might as well have been a brick in my hand.He still hadn’t called back. Not last night. Not this morning. And now the sun was going down, and I couldn’t take it anymore. So I called. It rang.Once.Twice.Then—“Brandon,” Cameron answered, voice flat. Tired. Like he knew exactly why I was calling and had already decided how it would end.“I just…” My throat burned. “Can we talk?”He didn’t say anything.I took that as a yes and kept going.“I know you’re angry. I know I messed up. But please, Cam—this isn’t just about us anymore. Think of your future. Your inheritance. Your mom’s name. That legacy—”“Don’t,” he snapped suddenly. “Don’t you dare use her.”“I’m not using her!” I said quickly, panicked. “But she wanted this for you. For us. You know she did.”“You’re unbelievable.” His voice cracked. “

Brandon’s POVI had taken care of everything.I made the calls. I hired the lawyer. I handled the press. I even told the board I was stepping away from company matters temporarily, just so Cameron could breathe. I’d taken the hit. Cleaned up the mess. I’d done it all for him.And he hadn’t replied to a single message. Not even one.My phone had been glued to my hand all day. I kept refreshing our chat, rereading the last texts I sent—“Call me, please. I’m begging you.” “Let me explain.” “Don’t let Drake get in your head.”Nothing.He was online. He was reading them.He just wasn’t answering. So I did what any desperate idiot would do—I called. One ring.Two.Voicemail.I tried again. And again. And again.I must’ve called twenty-seven times before the green light on my phone screen finally flickered to life. The line connected. My heart stopped.“Cam—” I started.“We’re done.”His voice was sharp. Cold. Final.I froze. “Wait—what?”“You and me. We’re done,” he said again, quieter this

  • Rival's Contract Marriage    Chapter 134

Cameron’s POVI didn’t want to be that guy.You know, the dramatic one in movies who storms into a jewelry store like he’s about to start flipping glass counters and yelling, “Tell me the truth!” But I couldn’t help it—I was two seconds from combusting, and the only thing stopping me was the fact that my legs were trembling too much to make a scene. The bell above the door chimed.Everything inside smelled like clean glass and expensive mistakes.“Hi there!” the lady at the counter smiled, all customer-servicey and chirpy. “How can I help you today?”I pulled in a breath. “I need to ask about a ring. A custom one. It was picked up a couple months ago.”She blinked, tilting her head a little. “Do you have the order number?”“No,” I said, then hesitated. “It’s under Brandon Cortez. I was… I’m—”I cleared my throat. “It was for our engagement.”Her eyes lit up like she remembered. “Oh! The platinum band with the black sapphire? Yes! I remember that one. Gorgeous choice. It was completed

  • Rival's Contract Marriage    Chapter 133

Cameron’s POVI slammed the door shut behind me and tossed my keys onto the counter like they’d personally betrayed me too. My shoes were kicked halfway across the living room, my hoodie landed on the floor, and my phone? Yeah, I nearly chucked it at the wall before thinking Maybe don’t break the thing that might still hold the truth. The apartment was too quiet.Too clean.Too full of memories I didn’t know if I should keep or burn.I hated that everything still smelled like Brandon. Like that vanilla-woodsy cologne he always wore. Like the faint trace of cinnamon from his stupid chai obsession. And worse? His hoodie was still draped over the back of the couch, right where he left it after our last movie night.God.I was gonna throw up.I collapsed onto the couch and curled into myself, like maybe if I made myself small enough, the pain would shrink too. But nope. It sat in my chest like a damn boulder. My phone buzzed.I almost ignored it.Then I saw the name: Hilda. My stomach twi
