I hope this chapter was steamy enough for you. Don't forget to drops some gems or rate. I also love reading your comments!
ELLA The green flames leave my hands and soar through the air to the target on the other side of the training grounds. The target bursts into green flames that quickly turn to orange. I groan frustratedly as I watch the target burn down to ashes. “You aren’t concentrating,” Grace yells from the stands that surround the training grounds. “Those flames should remain green if you want to keep control over them.” Rolling my eyes in her direction I send another green ball of fire across the grounds hitting the second target. This time the target is engulfed in green flames, but it does not burn. Sweat begins to pour down my face as I try to keep control over the flames that are one hundred meters away. Eventually fatigue takes over and I let go of the flames and the target begins to burn orange before collapsing to the ground. “Better,” Grace says acceptingly. “You need to work on your stamina though.” “I was a human for the better part of a month,” I groan back at her. “I am s
EREBUS Light breaks through the curtains and I groan as it hits my face. Ella snuggles in closer to my chest trying to block herself from the light. Wrapping my arms around her I try not to think about the dreams that plagued my sleep. Dreams of Grace having a terrible vision about my pup and Ella. Dreams about losing them both. Day by day I know that the war is coming closer and closer. I know that I have to find a way to keep them both protected even though Ella is insisting on fighting. I squeeze her small frame in my arms before I slide my arm out from under her gently and make my way towards the shower. Looking back at Ella, she has snuggled herself into my pillow and is snoring lightly. Her shirt has ridden up her stomach revealing the subtle baby bump that is growing. Unable to help myself I walk back over to the bed and place a kiss on her stomach. Ella stirs as the tingles of the bond between us spread throughout her body. “Erebus?” She whispers sleepily. “I
ELLA Standing outside of Grace’s cabin I stare at the door, unsure if I should knock or not. I haven’t been back here since I stormed out after hearing that Walter was hired to kill me when I was just a child. Looking back at the situation now, I suppose I may have overreacted a bit. But at the time I felt angered and betrayed. I raise my hand to knock on the old door and Emmett stiffens beside me, standing at attention. “Don’t do that,” I hiss at him. “Don’t do what?” He whispers back in confusion. “Don’t stand like a member of the Royal Guard,” I whisper yell back at him. Emmett’s eyebrows furrow and he looks at me in confusion. “But that’s what I am.” “Just don’t be that here,” I tell him harshly. Emmett tries to relax at my side, but his demeanor is still much to stiff. I let out a frustrated sigh and knock on the door. Grace opens the door with a bright smile on her face, “It took you long enough,” she whispers into my ear as she pulls me in for a hug. “Wh
GRACE Staring at the door as Walter leaves I turn back and glare at Ella and Emmett. “You don’t know what you are asking of me,” I tell her with my voice sounding strained. “I have been bound by the covens not to speak the names of those members.” “You have been bound by magic or by your word,” Ella asks me. “For a witch they are the same thing,” I reply angrily. “I think you should go.” Walking to the front door I open it and gesture for them to leave. Ella pulls on her coat and places her hand on my shoulder. Leaning in she places a small kiss on my cheek but does not say a word as she leaves. Emmett nods to me silently as he follows Ella out of the house. Watching silently from the front porch of the cabin, Ella wraps her coat around her and lifts her hood over her head before she and Emmett disappear into the night. Walking back into the cabin I gently shut the door behind me and rush to the table where the teacups were left. Looking in Ella’s cup it is more of the
ELLA The tension in the room is so thick that it could be cut with a knife. The Hunter’s Clan sits on one side of the room glaring at the Lycan Royal Guard that is sitting on the other side. Erebus, Walter, Lucian, Emmett, and I all sit in the center of the room, none of us knowing who should speak first. Finally one of the hunters clears his throat and stands up from the corner of the room. “Are we all just going to sit around and stare at one another or are we going to talk about the problem with this witch coven?” His voice quivers as he speaks, and his hands are clinched at his sides to keep him from shaking. Erebus nods at the hunter who quickly takes his seat. “He is right,” Erebus says a little too loudly. “The Sisters of Wisdom have gone too far attacking innocent werewolves and lycans.” Erebus begins to explain. “They need to be stopped.” “It isn’t just your kind that is being attacked,” one of the other hunters stands up. He is a large burly man with a long bea
ELLA The pages of the spell book glitter and shine as I flip through them like they have never done before. Gently I turn the pages one by one, mumbling the names of the spells as I pass them by. “Summoning Spell… Tracking Spell…” The symbols on the page morph and transform into readable words before my eyes. Running my fingers over the page a long, thin, blonde strand of hair catches under my fingers. Between my forefinger and my thumb I grasp ahold of the strand of hair and hold it up to the light. The blonde shimmers slightly in the dim light of the library. I have only seen hair this color twice before. “Please belong to Lilith,” I mumble to myself. Just then a knock on the wall behind me startles me. I quickly place the hair back between the pages of the book and slam the cover shut. “What was that?” Erebus asks curiously as he lays his head on my shoulder and wraps his arms around my waist. I sigh to myself before I answer. “It is a strand of hair that I found o
ELLA A blistering cold wind blows in from the North as we approach the outskirts of Lycan City. Wrapping my coat tightly around my ever growing belly I try to maintain some type of warmth on this cold night. All I can think about as we approach the Wolf’s Den is the defeated look on Grace’s face as I stared at her through Lilith’s eyes. Off in the distance I can see a cloaked figure waiting in the darkness and I know that she is waiting for me. Holding up my hands, I gesture for those that are walking behind me to stop but none of them do. Taking a deep sigh I place a barrier between the cloaked figure and the group of hunters and lycan warriors. Stepping through the barrier I turn back to Erebus who is banging against the invisible barrier trying to break through. “Let me through, Ella,” he yells threatening. “No,” I say in no more than a whisper. “This fight is mine and mine alone.” “You cannot win this alone,” Erebus’s voice sounds panicked as he and the hunters and t
ELLA Everyone watches in silent reverie as Grace’s ashes dance on the wind as they climb higher and higher into the sky. It is as if they are jumping from one cloud to the other as she makes her way up to the heavens above. It would have been a beautiful sight if I was not so damn sad. Looking down to my left I see that Lilith is nothing more than ash now as well. I resist the urge to kick her ashes into the mud and snow. Walter grabs ahold of my shoulders and pulls me away from what remains of Lilith’s body. “She would want to be with her,” he mumbles. “That’s what Grace would have wanted,” he clears his throat as he speaks trying to hide the sobs that threaten to escape him. I look up into his brown eyes that are filled with tears, and I know that he is right. Grace and Lilith spent centuries at each other’s sides. Puckering my lips once again I blow a gentle breeze over the ashes that were once Lilith and send them into the heavens so she can be with Grace. Huge tear
