Chapter 11

DELLA

I had another nightmare, so when I woke up, the first thing I did was have a hot bath and braid my hair down my back. Lilith was already making breakfast when I knocked on her door.

"Come in!"

I pulled the handle and went into her cabin, the smell of bacon and eggs filled my nostrils, followed by the heavy around of coffee.

"Good morning," she said when she saw me.

"Good morning."

"Want some breakfast? I have grits on the go too."

A warm smile touched her eyes every time she looked in my direction so I smiled back. "Yes, please."

In a way, Lilith reminded me of my mother. She didn't resemble my mother at all, but perhaps it was her motherly touch. There was a kindness within Lilith and I was very glad to have her around.

The door opened and Faye walked in. "Hi!"

I noticed the way she avoided looking at me and I knew she was still feeling bad about talking about Hunt.
