Axel’s POV

‘Axel; I need you in the office to go over security and planning for the next few weeks. We have a lot to go over.” Teddy linked me, making me let a sigh of relief.

Talk about being saved by the bell. ‘I’ll be right there, bro.’ I smiled at the five women in my life awkwardly as I scooted to the door. “Duty calls!”

“Axel! Don’t you dare leave this room right now!” Jude was looking worriedly between all four of our girls, the chorus of them demanding siblings of their own setting her face into one of mild panic.

“Sorry, Sexy! Important meeting!” Jude yelled after me as I all but tripped out of the bedroom and the apartment, scrambling down the hall as quickly as I could. Out of all the things we had talked about this last year and a half, children was not one of them.

Fuck, I’d be up for more kids; but Jude, I wasn’t sure what she would want. I had been absent and let my mate go through rising my four precious angels all alone; albeit, I didn’t know that was what was going on. It didn’t help none that her mother was firmly against me being there to begin with.

The old biddy was giving me a hard time left and right, but I made a promise to Jude to treat her like a queen; which I did, although it pained me immensely to do so. Jude was her only child, so any offense to her daughter she tried to enact vengeance tenfold on the offending party. I let her dig at me all the time too, sucking it up because I knew she helped raise my girls.

“Ah, Axel.” Walter nodded at me as I opened the door to the office, Albert and Teddy standing near him already. “Our ideas man. Come; take a look at this.” Walter ushered me forward, waving his hand over some papers. “Read these and tell us what you think.”

I walked forward and could see that they had a map of the United States laid out with markers on them, red dots and lines still visible here and there of packs we still hadn’t disbanded or eradicated. I picked up the first paper I saw and read it over, looking back at the map when I did. “Fuck me… That’s gonna need a whole lotta firepower to do.”

They were going to do a mass raid on the remaining packs and strongholds of Black Haven’s holdouts, working with our allies overseas and rounding up the last three council members. “You’ve been a busy bee since your parents’ house.” I looked to Teddy slightly, seeing his disheveled hair and eyes with dark circles. “This will be a good plan, but might I suggest catching the councilmen first? They’ve been the ones calling the shots, so if they’re gone, the rest should fall more easily.”

“Perfectly right, Axel, my boy.” Alvin nodded at me, leaning on his cane and oil ring to a small circle on the map. “We have intel saying that the remaining three are all gathered here, hiding from us for the time being.” He grinned as he flicked his finger and knocked over the little marker that was there, signaling their eminent demise.

“As long as f as you get them, then we won’t have any worries about them rebuilding Bla-“ I cut myself off as I saw another paper poking through the pile, pulling it out and reading the fine print. Across the top in bold letters was ‘Census and Ducumentation Process’.

It went on to detail the census that would ensue every five years, the card and licensing of all packs, clans, rogues, and groups of wolves. All of them were going to be issued ID cards and the ramifications for not having one issued. After reading over all the steps, I darted a glance at the three men with me. “Uh, Ted… What’s this?”

“Insurance to defeat to rogue problem.” He nodded his head at me, going back to discussing strategies with Walter. I wasn’t going to let him ignore me though, the fallout from something like this being too big for me to ignore. I slammed my hand on the table, making him and Walter jump.

Alvin had been watching me the whole time, so he just nodded and sipped his tea. “What seems to be the problem?” He inquired.

“This fucking “law” all three of you are gonna pass is what!” I yelled at them, my blood boiling. “Do you even know what you have written down here?!”

“A census, Nothing more.” Teddy shrugged, Walter not looking at me now.

A census, yah right. I huffed at them, shaking my head in disappointment. “This isn’t a census; this might as well be the Nazi party all over again with what you have on here.”

“Watch what you’re saying, Axel.” Teddy’s eyes flashed their yellow orange, Howler glaring at me from their depths.

“No, I’m not gonna watch what I say! You hired me to be a voice of damned reason for you Teddy! Telling me shit about making sure power doesn’t go to your head and such. Well this,” I pushed the paper into his face, glaring at him. “Does exactly that!”

“That’s preposterous.” He growled as fur pushed through in his arms.

“Oh, really? Let’s read this out loud then!” I challenged him. “Part one; all rogues must move to designated lands after the issuance of the census to classify themselves. Part two; Rogues must identify themselves to the pack and the crown and pay taxes for land rights on designated land….”

The more I spoke, the less Teddy looked at me, his face becoming ashamed with every word. “Ted..” I spoke softly now, seeing that my friend couldn’t even stand the words that were coming out of my mouth that he had written. “If you enact these laws, it might as well be World War Two all over again; but this time, it will be aimed at our own people.”

Lucy’s POV I took a breath outside of my parents’ office, steeling myself for the scolding I was sure I was going to get. Sure, I was an adult; but that didn’t mean I had no obligations since I chose my career path. One of those obligations was having security details with me; something that I evaded regularly, giving my parents headaches, I was sure. “Enter!” I could hear my dad call out as I knocked, bracing myself one last time as I opened the door. “Lucy, baby girl!” My mom ran up to me from her perch on my father’s lap, pulling me into a hug right away and planting a kiss on my forehead. “Why didn’t you tell us you were finished early?!” “And why did you ditch your security detail again?” My father grumbled as he stood up and joined us, pulling g both me and my mom into a hug. “I am both proud and pissed at you, young woman.” He scolded. “I was going to go and spend a little extra time with Rowan before everything this weekend.” I admitted, getting a tsk from my mom.

Lucy’s POV“The one and the same…” I sighed as I gripped the steering wheel more tightly, watching as the helicopter swooped back around.“Oh… a-am I supposed to bow or anything?” Suzy asked sheepishly, her eyes about to bug out of her head.“Goddess, please no! I’m just “Lucy” right now; freshly graduated student of Yale.”“Didn’t he who will not be named meet you there too? I had graduated last year with him, and he’d asked me out and everything.” Suzy shook her head as she clicked her nails against the dashboard, watching the SUV in front of us turn.“Yah. We met in Political Science with Professor Hershel four years ago and had just kinda hit it off. But he never struck me as the cheating type.” He’d been my first too. I poured silently, swearing I’d try many more males before settling down, just to get rid of the feel of him on my body.“All men cheat eventually.” Suzy huffed. “At least, the ones I tend to fall for.”We were getting closer to my home, making me antsy since this w

Lucy’s POV“Ladies… Please; this is all one big misunderstanding..” Rowan tried pleading again, but Suzy and I were not having any of it. Our wolves had identified the prey and were locked on to take him down.Rowan made a last ditch effort to jump over us, shifting mid air and taking off at a run back to his house. We gave chase; Suzy with her grey wolf that had white socks and a white chest, and my dark brown wolf with tips of gold. I could tell that we both had half a mind to tear him limb from limb, but we settled for nipping at his paws and driving him off. When we broke the clearing for the house, Rowan scrambled at his front door as he shifted and opened it; closing it tightly and clicking his lock home. I circled the house a few times with Suzy, sniffing for a way in but to no avail. I gave a huff at the front door and squatted right next to it, covering his welcome mat with pee. Suzy gave a bark of laughter and disappeared around the back, coming back and grinning in her form

25 Years LaterLucy’s POV“Rowan!” I called out for my fiancé, having looked everywhere for him. Maybe he is asleep on the property? He had said his wolf was acting up lately. Still not seeing him, I decided to shift and go for a run around the property to look myself.I had gotten out of college early, having aced all my last classes and finished my projects. Mom and dad didn’t even know I was back early or else they would have sent a security detail on me, which I did not want; especially if it was Uncle Axel. The man had a knack for embarrassing me.I stowed my clothing on the passenger seat of my seventy seven Toyota truck and shifted into my wolf, Hestia, and took off around the house in search of my intended. I can’t wait to see the look on his face. It’s been months since I’d had a taste of him. I purred to myself, wanting to lick him from head to toe. There wasn’t much room at home to mess around with him, my mom or dad constantly barging in with pressing matters for me to hel

Jude’s POV “Are you ready, girls?” My little ones were standing in front of me, their matching pastel rainbow dresses and pails of flower petals at the ready. “We’re ready; are you ready, mommy?” Grace gave me a look up and down, taking note of my slightly trembling hands. “As ready as I’ll ever be.” I mumbled as Walter patted my arm from where he stood next to me. I had been having hot flashes all day, making me woozy and agitated. “It’ll be fine. There’s your queue girls!” Walter ushered them on, regrabbing my arm. “I don’t have to worry about you running off now, do I?” He asked with a smile as I snuck a peak around the door to see my little girls do their job, trying to ignore the itchy sensation all over my skin. “No, no. Just a little nervous..” is that mom standing next to Axel?! I had caught a glimpse of the alter and my groom standing there, his eyes only for our girls in this moment. Those two get together like oil and water. I had been basically begging my mothe

  • Rogues and Royals   Weddings and Widow

Axel’s POV My soon to be mother in-law wasn’t in the bathroom, making me grumble and moan. Where did that old hag get to?!she wasn’t doing her makeup two seconds ago! It was as if the woman could sense a disturbance in the force; any time she filled my little girls heads with rot, she’s disappear. Oh where, oh where did that biddy go; oh where, oh where could she be? The child’s song went through my head, making me grimace a little. Damn kids songs and catchy toons. She wasn’t in our kitchen, nor the laundry, or the office. I was about to give up entirely until I decided to go one last place; her room. I braced my back as I knocked on the door, getting a yell of enter from within. Entering the snake’s lair now… I moaned to myself, pushing the door open and stepping inside. “Darleen..” I nodded in greeting at her, the old woman sitting at her small desk like it was a throne. “Axellion. Did you finally come to your senses?” She smiled at me as she patted her curly puffed white hai
