Mag-log inThree Months Later
Teddy’s POV “Move, move, move!” I shouted at the men around me as we swarmed the safe house the council members were in, giving the signal to move in quickly and take them out. We were able to confirm that this safe house was the one that they had been hiding at; bidding their time until they could flee the country. Shots rang out as a battle began on the inside, shifted wolves and those of us in tactical gear spilling into the abode and quickly taking care of the unsuspecting wolves. “Over here!” Someone shouted at me after a minute, calling me over to where a few bodies had already been dropped. “Are these the ones?” I went over and kicked the first body to get it to turn, nodding my head at the first councilman down. “That’s one!” Two more to go. I thought grimly. There was a small explosion from somewhere that shook the floor under me, a scream ringing out as more of my men ran by. This house hidden in the Tennessee mountains had been built into a hillside, trees and rocks covering it and making it hard to get to. We had managed though, all the signs pointing to the councilmen being here. “Here’s one!” Axel called to me from a kitchen as I passed with more men, holding up a body with half of their face blown off. “That makes two, right?” “Good! Only Councilman Shepard to go!” Brooks and Feilding are down and with Shepard being the last one, we’ll have it all wrapped up. Raids across the US were happening right now with help from Europe and all our allies across the states, a final effort to get rid of Black Haven and the Old Ways for good. So Shepard being the last one in the house for the Council alive kinda had me on edge. He had always been the most outspoken for never changing. The longer the raid went though, the more on edge I felt. ‘Does anyone have Shepard pinned down yet?’ I sent the link to my men, the fighting all but over. ‘We have a last batch pinned down in a small office room in the basement, and that’s it!’ Rhett linked me. He had been leading a small unit from the rear, his missing arm from killing Sköll a battle scar that did not hinder him in the least. ‘I’m on my way to help.’ I started to head that way as another small bomb went off with a cheer from somewhere deep inside the house as I walked. ‘We used a grenade; the room is a mess but we have four bodies to identify.’ Rhett sent back, making me jog through the carnage and viscera around me. The steps leading downward were a mess, as body parts littered the steps. “We’re going to begin cleanup, sir!” A wolf shouted at me as quicksilver drums were being carried in through a basement door, or really a hole in a basement wall. “Alright, keep your eyes peeled for the body of Shepard!” I called to them, still going deeper yet. “Over here!” Rhett called to me as I went three flights down, the large building becoming more like a maze the longer we were here. “We’re just piecing them together now.” I walked up as the bulled the fourth body from the room, limbs missing here and there from the bodies. Rhett took a few bottles of water from his tactical gear and dumped them onto the faces, washing away bits and pieces of blood and who knew what else so we could see the features. He got to the last one and turned, his face going grim. “He’s not here.” “Fuck!” I ran into the small room that they had pulled the bodies out of, wanting to see for myself that they weren’t missing anything. It was a ten by ten space with computer equipment here and there, office chairs and desks that had been spattered with blood and debris. Most of the equipment had been ruined too, screens flickering and no doors in sight. ‘Are there any more wolves fighting or rooms that have not been cleared?’ I sent out frantically, double checking the walls in this room. When a chorus on no’s replied, I slammed my hand down against the last desk, making the small laptop on it bounce slightly. I noticed then that the screen on this one was turned off, the small light on it indicating that something was running on it. I apprehensively reached out and touched the power button, making the screen flash to life. Shepard, the last council member, was smiling grimily at me from what looked like a private jet. “I do not appreciate you destroying my house, nor killing my wolves.” Fallon Shepard sipped what looked like tea on the screen, the blood in my veins boiling at his calm and collected nature. “But, sacrifices must be made in order to preserve our way of life.” He shrugged, setting down his small cup of tea. “Shepard; you have nowhere to go, nowhere to hide. Black Haven is done and the Old Ways are finished.” I saw him smile at the screen, his bland hair shaking as he nodded no at me. “I would think not. If anything, the Old Ways are about to become that more powerful in the future, that is since your mate opened up the way to Nix again. It’s a pity though that you’re locking everything down now though; but don’t worry, I’m a patient wolf and I have a long life ahead of me. Someday, you’ll drop your guard again, and when you do; I’ll be prepared.” “Shepard, I don’t think you understand. Everyone will be hunting for you! You have nowhere left to go.” My hands were in fists as more of my men filled the room, the tension here palpable as they all saw who I was talking to.Lucy’s POV I took a breath outside of my parents’ office, steeling myself for the scolding I was sure I was going to get. Sure, I was an adult; but that didn’t mean I had no obligations since I chose my career path. One of those obligations was having security details with me; something that I evaded regularly, giving my parents headaches, I was sure. “Enter!” I could hear my dad call out as I knocked, bracing myself one last time as I opened the door. “Lucy, baby girl!” My mom ran up to me from her perch on my father’s lap, pulling me into a hug right away and planting a kiss on my forehead. “Why didn’t you tell us you were finished early?!” “And why did you ditch your security detail again?” My father grumbled as he stood up and joined us, pulling g both me and my mom into a hug. “I am both proud and pissed at you, young woman.” He scolded. “I was going to go and spend a little extra time with Rowan before everything this weekend.” I admitted, getting a tsk from my mom.
Lucy’s POV“The one and the same…” I sighed as I gripped the steering wheel more tightly, watching as the helicopter swooped back around.“Oh… a-am I supposed to bow or anything?” Suzy asked sheepishly, her eyes about to bug out of her head.“Goddess, please no! I’m just “Lucy” right now; freshly graduated student of Yale.”“Didn’t he who will not be named meet you there too? I had graduated last year with him, and he’d asked me out and everything.” Suzy shook her head as she clicked her nails against the dashboard, watching the SUV in front of us turn.“Yah. We met in Political Science with Professor Hershel four years ago and had just kinda hit it off. But he never struck me as the cheating type.” He’d been my first too. I poured silently, swearing I’d try many more males before settling down, just to get rid of the feel of him on my body.“All men cheat eventually.” Suzy huffed. “At least, the ones I tend to fall for.”We were getting closer to my home, making me antsy since this w
Lucy’s POV“Ladies… Please; this is all one big misunderstanding..” Rowan tried pleading again, but Suzy and I were not having any of it. Our wolves had identified the prey and were locked on to take him down.Rowan made a last ditch effort to jump over us, shifting mid air and taking off at a run back to his house. We gave chase; Suzy with her grey wolf that had white socks and a white chest, and my dark brown wolf with tips of gold. I could tell that we both had half a mind to tear him limb from limb, but we settled for nipping at his paws and driving him off. When we broke the clearing for the house, Rowan scrambled at his front door as he shifted and opened it; closing it tightly and clicking his lock home. I circled the house a few times with Suzy, sniffing for a way in but to no avail. I gave a huff at the front door and squatted right next to it, covering his welcome mat with pee. Suzy gave a bark of laughter and disappeared around the back, coming back and grinning in her form
25 Years LaterLucy’s POV“Rowan!” I called out for my fiancé, having looked everywhere for him. Maybe he is asleep on the property? He had said his wolf was acting up lately. Still not seeing him, I decided to shift and go for a run around the property to look myself.I had gotten out of college early, having aced all my last classes and finished my projects. Mom and dad didn’t even know I was back early or else they would have sent a security detail on me, which I did not want; especially if it was Uncle Axel. The man had a knack for embarrassing me.I stowed my clothing on the passenger seat of my seventy seven Toyota truck and shifted into my wolf, Hestia, and took off around the house in search of my intended. I can’t wait to see the look on his face. It’s been months since I’d had a taste of him. I purred to myself, wanting to lick him from head to toe. There wasn’t much room at home to mess around with him, my mom or dad constantly barging in with pressing matters for me to hel
Jude’s POV “Are you ready, girls?” My little ones were standing in front of me, their matching pastel rainbow dresses and pails of flower petals at the ready. “We’re ready; are you ready, mommy?” Grace gave me a look up and down, taking note of my slightly trembling hands. “As ready as I’ll ever be.” I mumbled as Walter patted my arm from where he stood next to me. I had been having hot flashes all day, making me woozy and agitated. “It’ll be fine. There’s your queue girls!” Walter ushered them on, regrabbing my arm. “I don’t have to worry about you running off now, do I?” He asked with a smile as I snuck a peak around the door to see my little girls do their job, trying to ignore the itchy sensation all over my skin. “No, no. Just a little nervous..” is that mom standing next to Axel?! I had caught a glimpse of the alter and my groom standing there, his eyes only for our girls in this moment. Those two get together like oil and water. I had been basically begging my mothe
Axel’s POV My soon to be mother in-law wasn’t in the bathroom, making me grumble and moan. Where did that old hag get to?!she wasn’t doing her makeup two seconds ago! It was as if the woman could sense a disturbance in the force; any time she filled my little girls heads with rot, she’s disappear. Oh where, oh where did that biddy go; oh where, oh where could she be? The child’s song went through my head, making me grimace a little. Damn kids songs and catchy toons. She wasn’t in our kitchen, nor the laundry, or the office. I was about to give up entirely until I decided to go one last place; her room. I braced my back as I knocked on the door, getting a yell of enter from within. Entering the snake’s lair now… I moaned to myself, pushing the door open and stepping inside. “Darleen..” I nodded in greeting at her, the old woman sitting at her small desk like it was a throne. “Axellion. Did you finally come to your senses?” She smiled at me as she patted her curly puffed white hai
