SIX: At the cafeteria

 LUCIA'S POV

"But Lu, does this make any sense? I mean from what you just said that guy acted so cold to you. So how are you gonna win him over?" Penny asked, looking so disturbed. I smirked.

"Besides, you haven't said anything concerning introducing us to the other idols." Katie added, sipping from her glass of strawberry.

"You dummy. I've gotta get Dan to like me first before I can get closer to his friends. That's what matters right now to me. Since you brought this up, why don't you try winning Jay on your own?" I hissed slightly annoyed. How could she think of that at the moment.

"Oh common Lucia. I'm sorry I didn't mean to make you angry. I won't do that again okay." Katie pleaded. I smiled. I can't stay angry at my friends for long.

"It's okay. You are forgiven."

"Thanks Lu." She smiled.

"When you guys finish your drama I hope you can reply me Queen Lucia." Penny said dramatically. I smirked.

"Relax Penny. I've got this." I said confidently.

"But Lucia, I can't understand why you insisted on us having lunch here at the general Cafeteria when the maids at your father's mansion can just prepare whatever you want. I mean it's a first for you. You've always dislike us eating here. So what's happening today?" Katie asked.

"That's true. What's on your mind girl." Penny said as she twirl a strand of her black hair with her fingers.

"I have a hunch today is gonna be interesting here in this cafeteria. I wouldn't miss it for anything in the world. You shouldn't too." My friends looked at me with a puzzled expression on their faces.  A mischievous smile formed on my lips. I turned and my eyes landed on someone. JADE. The handsome dude from Africa who hung around Danielle the dancer and most intelligent student in my department since year one. I just dislike that girl.

Jade is a year three student in the biochemistry department. He's one popular dude who sent girls drooling and broken hearted because of him. He leaned on a counter flirting with a blonde girl.

"Why are you looking at Jade? You want him too?" Penny's voice broke my train of thoughts. I scoffed

"Of course not. I don't do his kind you know."

"And why is that?" Katie asked.

"He's a black, girl and you know I don't date them." I said, a slight frown creasing my forehead.

"What about Kristen, wasn't he black?" Penny asked unbelievably.

"Goodness! You girls really. Kristen was the only one and besides I was sixteen then, so quit it."

They giggled amusingly.

"Oh My!" I exhailed. "Anyway, does Jade frequent here often?" I asked.

"Here we go again." Penny hummed.

"How are we supposed to know that." Katie said, biting her sandwich.

"Common girls. I've got my reasons for asking this, I promise I will explain to you girls later. Uhmm, the few times you guys were here, did you always see him?" I persisted.

"A couple of days I think. I've seen him around like twice, the previous year." Penny explained.

"Hmm today's definitely gonna be interesting. Prepare girls I've got a surprise for you." I said with a smirk and turned towards the entrance of the cafeteria.

           CILIA'S POV

I sipped impatiently from my glass of apple juice while I waited my friends. Normally we don't usually eat at the cafeteria because Danielle prefers making her own dishes. But today she suddenly felt lazy to prepare anything. Same with Tania and I. We are so used to having her prepare our meals that neither of us thought of making lunch. And since we had no leftovers the only choice was to eat here. But on our way here, Tania suddenly remembered she had to submit a document and had pleaded with Elle to go with her to her faculty. We agreed that I will wait them here and they will be back in 15mins. However, it's over fifteen mins now. I wonder what's keeping them.

From the corner of my eyes I saw Eddie and his new girl behaving all lovey-dovey as they playfully feed each other. Rage filled me and I thought of moving over to them and dragging off that bitch's long hair, and kicking Eddie's ass. But that wouldn't be great after my showoff at our last meeting. I really felt like breaking down and crying but I was stronger and tougher than that. It was a great showoff.

FLASHBACK

I walked boldly to the empty lecture hall that Eddie told me to meet him. I had let my short bob hair fall freely without using a band on it. Confidently I entered the hall bubbling a gum. He stood at the other end of the hall with his back resting on a desk. The fool had also brought his bitch along. She was standing beside him and they were holding hands.  Okay let's do this! I said within. I walked over to them.

"Hey Eddie." I said. The girl had a smirk on her face. Goodness! Had Eddie brought her along to humiliate me? I will sure make him pay for this. Let's see who gets humiliated.

He had an uneasy look in his eyes.

"Uhmm, Hi Cilia. I'm sorry for calling you here this way. But it's the only way I could think of..."

Such a dummy. Of course his dumb brain told him to make his bitch tag along. I faked a smile.

"Of course not. It's okay. So what's going on. You've gotta be fast about it. I've got stuffs to do."

"Of course you do." Bitch chirped in. I gave her a mischievous smile. Then turned to Eddie.

"Uhmm, for some time now I discovered our relationship wasn't flowing but I just couldn't bring myself to tell you since I don't want to hurt you. I tried to pretend all was fine but I couldn't anymore. Along the way I fell in love with Charlotte here and I discovered it's high time I let you know that..."

"Let's break up!" I dropped the bomb shell. He looked stunned. I smirked.

"Yeah, I've been thinking too about it and I discovered that a relationship based on lies isn't worth my time. That's the reason I agreed to meet up since I've also got something to say. It was once fun with you." He stiffened, lips slightly parted in shock.

"Don't worry Eddie, I'm over you already. Relax and have fun with her okay. See you around." I said and turned to the girl.

"Good luck with him." I said leaving them speechless. With the smirk still on, I turned back, flipped my hair and walked off out of the hall.

BACK TO PRESENT

And that was how a relationship of almost two years crashed down.

I turned and saw Queen Bee and her friends seated few tables from mine. What's she doing here? For all I know this was a first. I've never seen her at the cafeteria before. She had a sneaky smile on as she chatted with her friends. She must be up to something mischievous. By the way, what's keeping the girls. I decided to give them a call. I bent over my purse bag to retrieve my phone but was interrupted by hushing sounds and excited screams. I turned towards the entrance and OMG I couldn't believe my eyes.
