MasukAMELIA
Katherine’s green eyes widen slightly when they land on me, flicking down to my bandaged arm.
She smiles.
“My goodness, Amelia… you look awful. Like something the rogues dragged in. Oh… wait,” she laughs, “they actually did.”
She keeps laughing like someone who has already won and is just waiting for the loser to realize it. Her laughter keeps hitting me like a slap, but I force myself to stay calm.
“I'm still Luna. This is still my home and I have the right—”
“Still Luna?” She throws her head back and laughs louder. “You crazy, delusional bitch. You were never Luna, Amelia. You were just a substitute. A fake!”
“Katherine, I don’t have time for this so can you please get out of my way?”
“Out of your way?” Her eyebrows arch dramatically and she shifts her position, blocking the doorway completely. “Sweetheart, you've been in my way for an entire year. What's a few more minutes?”
She steps forward, and I instinctively step back, but she's still much closer and right in front of my face, and I can totally smell Logan's cedar scent from his oversized shirt that she's wearing so proudly.
My stomach churns with bile rising in my throat.
“You poor girl,” she tsks. “I thought you'd be in the hospital for at least another day so that Logan and I can continue discussing our new plans. Oh, we have so much catching up to do...”
“Catching up?”
“Let's just say Logan has been very clear about who he wants as his Luna. Last night, he was purely moaning my name as we fucked right on your matrimonal bed. He kept fucking me over and over, moaning my name all night long like he has been dying over a year to finally make love to his true Luna.”
“No.” I shake my head, refusing to believe it. “You’re lying.”
“Am I?” She chuckles, her fingers playing with the shirt’s buttons. The blue fabric hangs off her shoulder, exposing her collarbone and hitting her mid-thighs like she just rolled out of bed.
I don't want to believe it, but Logan has only ever loved her, so why would she lie when the truth is written all over her?
She's wearing his shirt, smelling of him, and she's blocking my way like she's getting rid of the pest trying to steal her mate.
The pain is unbearable.
“You see, Amelia, the truth hurts,” her mocking voice cuts me off from my thoughts. You’re a conniving little thief. Logan will reject you, make me his Luna, and believe me, sweetheart… he can’t wait to get rid of you.”
The truth hits like a knife.
I can't stand Katherine's lies anymore.
“You’re evil!” I shout. “You’re a two-faced devil, and you’ll never be half the Luna I was in your absence. Never!”
“How dare you?!”
“Being your sister has only brought me hell!” I shake, my voice trembling as everything pours out. “You’re not a victim here, Katherine. You’re the villain. Deep down, you know it. So stop pretending you’re a righteous angel—you’re just a bully, and—”
“SHUT UP!” She lunges forward, her hand raised like she's going to slap me.
I flinch back, my injured arm coming up defensively—
But she suddenly stops.
Her eyes go wide, her nostrils flaring as if she's scenting something.
And before I can process anything else, her hand, the one she raised to hit me, swings down and cracks across her own face.
A red mark instantly blooms across her cheek, very clear with the map of her fingers showing.
And suddenly, she collapses to the floor, crying and using her hands to cover her face.
“Katherine what the hell are you—?”
“KATHERINE!” Logan's voice cuts through the air.
And when I look past Katherine, I see him running downstairs towards her.
His cedar scent grows thicker as he gets closer.
And when he arrives, he quickly drops to his knees and cradles her in his arms, using his body to shield her as if he's protecting her from being devoured by a beast.
Me.
“WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE?!” he roars, his eyes sweeping the scene and moving back to Katherine's body shaking in his arms as she cries louder.
“Kathrine,” he mutters softly. “What happened?”
“Amelia hit me,” she replies in a teary voice, burying her face in Logan's chest. “She blamed me for hosting the funeral and taking the Luna position. She said I have no right to be here and that she's Luna. She even ordered me to leave…”
“No! She's lying! Logan please you have to believe me! I swear I didn't touch—”
“ENOUGH OF YOUR LIES!” He growls and I instantly feel his Alpha command slamming into me and staggering me backwards.
I caught myself. “Logan—”
“You've been playing this Luna game for so long you've forgotten your place.” He stands, pulling Katherine up with him and shielding her with his body again. “You're angry that Katherine is back and you can't stand it. You're jealous because she's here to reclaim everything you coveted.”
“No—”
“You will never be my Luna, Amelia. You're just the hated Amelia who trapped herself in a game she will never win. It's time to make you understand that.”
“What do you mean?”
“I, Alpha Logan Grayson of the Ravencrest Pack, reject you, Amelia Bennett, as my mate and Luna.”
The pain is instant.
My vision blurs and I feel like someone is slicing my chest and ripping out my heart.
The hate in his voice mirrors Katherine's evil smile so perfectly and I wonder if he thought about rejecting me as he fucked Katherine all night long while I was bleeding in a hospital bed.
‘Stay strong,’ my wolf encourages me, and I can feel that she's also going through the same pain.
“I—” I pause, clutching my chest and trying to breathe through the pain. “I, Amelia Bennett of the Ravencrest Pack, accept your rejection.”
My acceptance completes the breaking of the bond, and I feel a fresh wave of pain rushing through me.
Whatever connection that existed between Logan and I, it's all gone.
Katherine sniffs back tears, looking at me as if she's pitying me before she turns around and hurries upstairs.
A few minutes later, she quickly returns, carrying my suitcase and dumping it outside where I am.
And right then, she smiles, her face full of triumph. “Goodbye Amelia.”
With that, she slams the door in my face.
For a long moment, I feel like I'm stuck in a bad dream. My tears finally spill, streaming down my face.
‘This pack doesn't deserve us,’ my wolf whimpers quietly.
And she's right.
We have no family here. No friends. No mate. My father made it clear he only ever wanted one daughter. My mother died without ever truly seeing me. Logan rejected me without thinking twice.
And Katherine… she gets everything again. Just like always.
Something in me finally breaks. I can’t keep living like this—bleeding for people who never wanted me.
My hands shake as I pull out my phone and dial the only number I have left to call.
One ring. Two. Three.
“Hello?” The voice on the other end is warm and steady.
And I find myself blurting out the only words that make sense now.
“Please… I've decided to join the Deadfang pack.”
AMELIADone with my answer, I abandon Logan and start walking away. Not running—that will give him the satisfaction of knowing he has gotten to me. I just keep walking. Boldly and determined to get away from the man who ruined me and now wants forgiveness like it’s some simple thing I can just grant.“Amelia wait!” His loud voice follows me across the air. “Please I need—”“You need nothing from me,” I don’t stop walking or even look back. “We’re done talking. Go back to your pack. Go back to Katherine and leave me alone.”“I can’t,” his footsteps quicken behind me. “I need you to give me a chance. Just one chance. Please accept my apology and at least we can be friends—”“Friends?!” I spin around so fast he nearly crashes into me. “You think we can be friends after everything you’ve done to me?!”“We were friends once.” His voice carries desperate hope.“Amelia!”Before I can reply, I heard Alpha Ethan’s voice shouting my name. I turn around and see him marching towards us with half
AMELIAThe beach is quiet and beautiful, the water waves crashing against the rocks and filling the air with salty breezes. Logan and I sit together on a log, close enough to hear each other over the waves but far apart that we are not touching each other. The distance makes me feel a bit at ease, but also makes me a little sad that the man I married for a year is now like a stranger to me.“This place is nice,” he says, trying to make small talk. “Thank you for bringing me here and giving me a chance to explain—”“Don’t thank me.” I cut him off. “I’m not here because I want to forgive you. I’m here because I need answers and you wanted to apologize properly which you couldn't do over lunch because of Alpha Ethan. So talk.”For a moment, he looks stunned. He probably still can't believe I have changed, but that’s none of my business if he can't accept it. I am not the same Amelia who used to follow him like a lovesick puppy and endured every bit of his cruelty. “Alright,” He nods slo
AMELIA This is, without question, the worst and the most embarrassing lunch of my entire life. The restaurant that Alpha Ethan chose for our joint lunch is beautiful: soft lighting, elegant table settings, and everything else looks splendid. However, just one look at the restaurant’s decor is more than enough to scream that this restaurant has the kind of atmosphere designed for romance, which makes my current situation approximately a thousand times worse. Also, I'm seated between Logan and Alpha Ethan, thanks to the sitting arrangement at the round table. I’m trapped in the middle, wishing desperately to be anywhere else, and both Alphas are silently glaring at each other, the tension so thick I can almost taste it. Clearly, they are competing for something I don’t understand.“The specialty here is their spice blend,” Alpha Ethan says conversationally to me, completely ignoring Logan’s presence. “They source their peppers from the southern packs and the taste is quite distinctive.
AMELIAThe morning drags on and I continue keeping myself busy with the patients until the time for lunch break finally arrives. Done arranging my desk, I’m about to leave my office when Sophia suddenly appears in the doorway with a smirk I don’t quite understand.“Amelia, it seems you're already leaving for lunch. I'm sorry to delay you, but there’s a patient waiting to see you.” “A patient? But I thought my schedule is clear until—”“He insisted it had to be you specifically. And he’s handsome,” she cuts me off, her smirk deepening into a mischievous smile that somehow makes me uneasy. But I accept. “Okay. Let the patient in and—”The rest of my words die in my throat the instant she opens the door and my gaze collides with the patient entering inside, seated on one of the sofas, his eyes locking onto mine just as firmly.Logan. The patient is Logan!Maybe I'm hallucinating—“Amelia, this is the patient I was telling you about. I’ll now leave you two alone. Take your time!” Sophia
AMELIAThe instant he is gone, the door closes and my legs nearly give out. “Easy,” Alpha Ethan catches me and helps me back into my chair. “You're alright now.”“A week.” My voice shakes. “He’s staying for a week.”“I know. Can you handle it? If you want, I can assign some guards to—”“No,” I shake my head. “I can’t live with guards following me around for a week. I just need to stay strong and keep remembering why I left him. I will not let him manipulate me.”“That's right. By the way, you were magnificent tonight. You stood up to him. That took courage.”“Or stupidity.” I try to laugh, but it comes out broken. “Threatening to die rather than going back with him probably wasn’t my smartest move.”“I don't believe that. Your reaction was honest, and I'm sure Logan never expected it. You did absolutely well, and I'm proud of you.”“Thanks,’’ I manage a smile.“Now let's continue the banquet. Logan is gone now, so relax and enjoy your meal.”I nod and the banquet continues, though it
AMELIALogan stares at me like I have just declared war.Maybe I have.“Amelia, you don’t mean that,” he mutters weakly. “You can’t seriously be willing to die for Ethan instead of returning to Ravencrest with me.”“I absolutely mean every word, Logan,” I state firmly, still standing my ground. I hate that we are doing this in front of everyone gathered here for the banquet. This is supposed to be a lovely dinner to mark the possible beginning of peace, but Logan, as usual, is still so selfish and always makes everything about himself.“Move Amelia,” he warns, now staring angrily into my eyes as if his glare will make me step aside. But I'm done with his filthy rude attitude.“I'm not moving an inch,” I insist, glaring right back into his eyes. “You’re in Alpha Ethan’s territory now and you don’t have the right to attack him in his own home. You don’t get to threaten him, and you certainly don’t get to drag me anywhere I don’t want to go.”“I’m trying to protect you—”“By forcing me
