Ares cursed viciously under his breath, rolling off me. We stared at each other, both breathing hard, my dress hiked up to my hips and his shirt half-unbuttoned.

"I'm resting," he called out, his voice admirably steady given the circumstances. "Can it wait?"

"It's important." The handle rattled. "And why is your door locked?"

My heart stopped. The door was locked. Which meant Luciana would know he had someone inside.
