Arita POV

The light shone brightly on Celyn and her minions as they walked in, their heels clicking hard against the floor, catwalking their way in like they were some kind of models.

They didn’t look at the crowd. Their chins were lifted high, radiating pride like they belonged on the front page of a magazine.

Murmurs filled the room as they made their way to the center. I didn’t pay much attention at first, but my focus shifted when the lady beside me commented on Celyn’s outfit.

Arita POVApplause thundered in the air as everyone anticipated me to step on the stage. The whole of the students had a hopeful look. Some had never met King in person before and this would be an opportunity for them. Tell me how I will climb that stage and break their happiness that he isn’t coming. My legs stood rooted to where I had stood, no movement or attempt to move. The applause had now reduced, slowly turning into a small clap than the loud applause earlier. The students didn’t stop looking, they only stopped clapping.I felt every piercing eye poking into my skin, my heart beating fast for what to do next. Coming to dinner was a completely bad idea. I should have stayed home and found some excuse to give.“Hey, be calm, just go up there and be yourself,” Morgana said, her hands touching mine with care.I nodded, even though I wasn’t sure if I could be myself up there. There were too many eyes, too many stares. No way am I walking up the stage without falling.“Arita, you sh

I didn’t pay much attention at first, but my focus shifted when the lady beside me commented on Celyn’s outfit.“That dress was released months ago. It’s outdated. Why would she wear that to dinner?”“I doubt she will be the winner tonight.”“Is Celyn broke?”“Arita looks better and hotter than her.”“Girl, did you hear that?” Morgana nudged me lightly, making me smile softly.I did like being called pretty, but not like this. I hated comparisons, especially the kind that could bring me more trouble than I was already in.“Girl, don’t kill the vibe. This is your moment. Trust me, Celyn would trade everything to be co

  • Ruin Me,King Owen   Chapter 62

Arita POV“You are choking me,” I struggled to say, my hand beating at his hand to let go.But instead of releasing me, his grip tightened around my neck even more. His eyes were now very red as he stared at me.I tried to breathe, to stay alive, but none of that was working as life was finally slipping away from my body. My eyes closed slowly, my mind saying my last prayers as I imagined seeing the gate of heaven. Before that thought could come to reality, he let go. His hands left my neck, making me cough out so loud. My hands rubbed my chest as I tried to steady my breath again.A soft growl from him made me look up, and what I saw made me shift back. Before me was King, but this King had long claws bulging out from his fingers. His ears now looked like a wolf compared to how they looked before. He moved closer to me, but I shifted back before his hands could touch me.“Why the hell do you look like that?” I yelled, my hand pointing to his fingers. He looked confused at first, but

Arita POV“Have you talked to him? Did he agree?” Morgana asked, her eyes looking at mine so brightly.“I didn’t get to talk with him about it,” I said calmly.“Why is that?” Morgana asked.“I didn’t get the chance,” I snapped, my eyes looking upward, trying to fight back the tears that were threatening to fall.“The dinner is tomorrow, Arita,” she reminded me as if I didn’t know what tomorrow was.“I know, I know,” I said. The tears I was trying to hold back were now falling from my eyes.“It’s okay,” Morgana stated.I nodded, my eyes clearing the tears that ran down my cheeks. The class was extremely busy today. Students were seen discussing the dinner tomorrow, some flaunting how they preferred the latest bags, shoes, and wear, others grouping themselves to go shopping.I looked at myself. I didn’t even have anything put in place. I hadn’t even gotten clothes for the dinner, neither did I get King to come. Can I ever get anything in place?“Arita, let’s go shopping after school,” M

  • Ruin Me,King Owen   Chapter 60

“Arita POVAt exactly 3pm, I stood before the door, looking at the handle like it would bite me if I held it. This same door I have opened without hesitation before now. After about thirty minutes, I decided to face my fear. With a thumping heart, my hand reached for the door handle, opening it. The door swung open and I stepped in.Inside was as quiet as always, no noise, no loud music, just the sound of the clock ticking.I walked slowly till I got to my room. A heavy breath left my nostrils, one I didn’t think I was holding in.I lay on the bed without having a change of clothes. Well, I couldn’t do anything straight when my mind was already occupied.Different thoughts ran through my mind, some of which were totally bad ideas. Tell me why I am thinking of eloping with Zach to a place I know nothing about. All these thoughts were because I don’t know what King has in store for me. With the way he walked out and drove roughly, he sure was hurt, and from what I have known of him over

  • Ruin Me,King Owen   Chapter 59

Arita’s POVI had thought maybe King would beg me just once more, but he didn’t. I heard his car drive out of the compound some minutes after I left the waiting room. All through the hours he was gone, I couldn’t help but pace by the window, watching the compound for him to come back, but nothing of such happened.Tired of keeping watch for King, I went into the dining room to eat some food as my stomach was now aching.I had locked myself in earlier, refusing to eat, but now my stomach ached so badly. When the food was served, I dug in immediately, rushing it like a child starved for days. All this while, my head still looked out for King, but it was still the same.I sat for hours after eating, waiting for King to get back, but he never did. My eyes were gradually closing, and I knew I wouldn’t be able to keep watch forever, so I went into my room after giving Mom a call to check on her.The next morning, I got dressed for school, ate breakfast, and there was still no sign of him.I

Arita’s POVTell me why I am still out in my morning clothes standing before the door of a hotel, instead of being in my bed resting and playing with myself with my dildo. It’s all thanks to Celyn, I said sarcastically before knocking softly on the door. The door opened immediately as if she was al
