“Miko… Are you okay?” Mama walks into my room, while I’m laying in my bed. I wince at the sudden flood of photons on my face when she turns on the light.

“Yea… I am fine.”

She takes a seat beside me and says, “You are awfully quiet today. Tell me what happened?”

I sigh. “I want one weekend for myself... Just for once.”

Mama gives me a sympathetic smile, placing a comforting hand on my shoulder. “I know you’ve been working hard... I’m proud of you.”

I snort. “You are buttering me up. What do you need?”

She laughs softly. “This is the list. I cannot find it in local stores.”

I groan while unfolding it to read. Some spices and some special coffee beans. I love the food she cooks so I don’t get to complain.

“Keep your cell phone around. I will call if they don’t have the brand you asked for.”
