After days of contemplating, I told Ethan what had happened during the shopping trip. Instead of denying, he called me ab attention seeker and accused me of making up lies.

This was the beginning of my personal hell. He became more distant and even when his mother invited us to her annual gala, he didn't inform me. In his words 'you wouldn't have gone anyway,'. That was his excuse.

I stared at the clock on the wall, my fork barely touching the cold pasta on my plate.

Ethan still hadn’t come down for dinner. Not that I expected him to. He hadn’t joined me at the table in over a week.

Still, a stupid part of me hoped he’d surprise me tonight. Maybe sit beside me like he used to. Ask about my day. Offer me a crumb of conversation.

He didn’t.

Instead, I heard footsteps echoing down the hallway and looked up quickly.

My heart dropped.

Ethan walked into the dining area dressed in a crisp navy suit, looking effortlessly polished. And beside him, wearing a glittering emerald dress that hugged

The days that followed were absolute hell.I didn’t think it could get worse after walking in on my fake husband in bed with Samantha, but I had clearly underestimated how far she was willing to go to destroy me.Everywhere I turned, she was there.Smirking and glowing like she was the queen of the world. She made sure to dress in the same colors I wore to meetings, only better, grander, louder. She stole my seat in the boardroom, made passive-aggressive comments in front of the team, and worst of all, she somehow got herself assigned to “oversee” my new project. She poked and prodded every damn thing I said during the stakeholder presentation.“This number doesn’t add up,” she interrupted, less than five minutes into my pitch.“It does,” I said, tightly. “If you’d actually read the breakdown—”“Hmm,” she cut in with a condescending smile, “I just think you need to be more clear. You tend to ramble when you’re nervous.”My hands clenched into fists behind the podium. She knew exactly

I had barely changed into my pajamas when the front doors slammed shut.Ethan was home. The heavy thud of his shoes echoed down the extremely quiet hallway and from the way he stormed into the house, I knew he was pissed.I rushed to the living room and froze as soon as I saw him.He looked straight at me, his jaw clenched and his eyes darkened.“Why did you send in a resignation?” Ethan demanded, waving his phone in front of my face. “What the hell, Madison?”I inched closer to him, my pulse racing.“Because I’m tired, Ethan,” I said, my voice trembling with a mix of anger and pain. “Tired of being ambushed, excluded, humiliated. Your company doesn’t want me. Your people don’t respect me. And clearly, you don’t either.”His brows furrowed as he took a step closer but I caught the scent of whiskey on his breath and shifted back. My stomach turned and a chill ran down my spine.“You were at the party.”It wasn’t a question. It was a statement. He didn’t answer. He tore his eyes away fr

Moving back to the mansion was supposed to be about safety. But the moment my feet crossed the large overly secured gates, I knew I’d made a terrible mistake. The halls that were supposed to protect me and shield me from everything that was going on in the real world was now my own prison.Eleanor had decided to move in with us, permanently. She even packed more luggage than me.My stomach clenched uncontrollably as the security packed in luggage after luggage branded with Eleanor’s boutiques logo..Eleanor roamed the corridors of my home like a queen guarding her crumbling empire from enemies, only this time, I was her enemy and target.Every time we crossed paths, she made a point of reminding me how unwanted I was. How my husband would dispose me off like filth and Samantha would take her rightful place as Mrs King. “Your days here are numbered,” she whispered one morning, brushing past me in the hallway, her voice cold as ice. “You might have fooled Ethan, but you can never fool

The tension in the office was thick enough to suffocate the breath out of you.Since the photos of me and Harry went viral, since the board meeting, since Ethan’s public silence, everything had changed. HR had issued a general warning to everyone involved in the harassment, along with pay cuts to five top staff members involved in my sabotage. It was supposed to protect me. Instead, it lit a fuse.I heard the muttering when I walked in. The pointed stares and the obvious fake smiles were driving me insane.“Hope you’re happy now, slut,” someone hissed under their breath as I passed.I kept walking. Head high, heart steady. I had survived worse and yes, I was happy. Bullies deserve no mercy. This morning was no different, only the snickering got louder. I wanted to crawl into a box and hide but that would only prove that they had successfully gotten away with their cruel acts.I walked into my office, my heart racing as I locked the door behind me.My eyes landed on a small box in the

The silence in the mansion was almost deafening, a stark contrast to the storm raging outside in the real world. I hadn’t left the house in days—not since the photos dropped. What photos you might be wondering?Photos of me and bloody Harry, sitting in a café, his hand resting lightly on mine, laughing. Candid, perfectly timed and completely misleading.Like whoever took it had been seated in the cafe, waiting patiently to strike.Who could have done this? And why did they want to ruin me so badly. The headlines were beyond brutal. I went from being called a slut, to being called a seductress, a social climber and a loose woman who slept with both brothers for material gains.Even worse were the messages flooding the office group chat. Screenshots sent to me anonymously, group memes mocking me, emojis of snakes and beds and coffee cups.It was childish and very triggering.Someone had even instigated I might be sleeping with HR and demanded an immediate investigation and or terminatio
