RAMON

The moment I saw her, my heart stopped.

There she was, Phoebe. Standing by the garden path with the sun behind her, making her hair glow like it always used to when we’d sit on the porch together. I couldn’t move at first. I just stared.

“Phoebe,” I said, finally stepping forward.

She looked up, and our eyes met, but the look on her face hit me like a punch in the gut. No warmth. No relief. Just surprise… and something that felt like pain and disappointment rolled into one.

She turned away instantly, like she couldn’t get away fast enough.

“Wait…Phoebe, wait!” I rushed forward.

She didn’t stop. She picked up her pace, but I caught up to her. I reached out and lightly grabbed her arm. “Please. Don’t go. Just let me talk.”

“Let go of me, Ramon,” she said, her voice low and cold.

I did. I stepped back, hands raised. “Okay. I’m sorry. I just… I wasn’t expecting to see you. I didn’t think you’d come out here.”

“Well, I didn’t think I’d run into you,” she snapped. “Yet here we are.”

WINNIEThe package was small. Brown paper, no return address. It sat on the front porch like it didn’t hold something that could crack a person open.I didn’t even know it was for me at first. It just had my name, Winnie, scrawled across the top in black ink.No one else was around. Or I had no idea where they were. I carried it inside, closed the front door quietly, and sat on the couch with the box in my lap. My heart was already racing, like I could feel something off about it.I peeled back the paper.Inside, a single flash drive sat on a piece of black velvet. No note. No explanation.Just the drive.I stared at it for a long time. My fingers hovered over the edges of the box, like touching it might set something off. I didn’t know why, but my stomach twisted into a knot. Something about it felt… off. Deliberate. Finally, I picked it up and walked to my room. I shut the door gently behind me, turned the lock, and sat at my desk. The flash drive was small and cold in my hand.I pl

RAMONThe morning light slipped through the curtains, painting soft lines across the sheets. I lay still for a moment, eyes fixed on the ceiling, heart oddly calm. The soft rhythm of Phoebe’s breathing beside me grounded me. Safe. For now.I turned my head, watching her sleep. Her hair was messy from the night before, one arm flung carelessly across the bed. She looked peaceful, and for a second, I let myself believe that maybe all of this would pass soon. Maybe we’d get through it.I reached out and brushed my fingers gently over her cheek. She stirred but didn’t wake."I love you," I whispered, even though she couldn’t hear it.I got up quietly, showered, and dressed, careful not to wake her. I left a note on her nightstand just in case she woke up before I got back. Then I slipped out of the room.Mr. Damien and Stephen were already outside. Mr. Damien was sipping coffee, arms crossed as he leaned against the railing. Stephen was pacing slightly, a map rolled out on the hood of the

WINNIEI found him near the edge of the garden, leaning back on the bench under the tree with his head tilted toward the stars. The soft golden lights strung above cast a glow over his face, and for a moment, I just stood there watching him.“Hey,” I said softly.Stephen looked over at me and smiled, that calm, quiet smile of his that always made my heart skip a little. “Hey yourself.”I walked over and sat beside him, tucking my dress under me. “You disappeared.”“You looked busy with Phoebe,” he said. “Didn’t want to interrupt.”“Busy trying to keep her sane,” I laughed gently. “But I’m off-duty now.”He nodded, looking ahead at the trees. “It’s peaceful out here.”“Yeah,” I murmured. “You okay? Your side?”He touched his ribs lightly, wincing. “Still sore. But I’ll live.”I glanced at him, hesitating. Then I blurted, “I was scared. When I saw you bleeding earlier.”Stephen turned to me slowly, his brow lifting. “You were?”I looked down at my fingers, embarrassed. “Of course I was.

PHOEBERamon held stiff for a minute, then relaxed, putting his arms around me, engulfing me in his body heat.“I loved this.”I lifted my chin so I could look up at him. I opened my mouth to say something. What, I wasn’t sure. But the next thing I knew, his lips were on mine again. His hands slid over my back, to my butt, and rested there for a second. I pressed tighter against him, taking the kiss deeper. The energy shift between us was seamless, from comforting and pained to needy and lustful. My clothes were easy to remove. He only had to slide my pants down my legs and yank off my hoodie and shirt. When I was naked, he surveyed me. I hadn’t worn a bra, and my nipples peaked when he ran his gaze over them. His big hands reached up to cup my breasts and we both shuddered. He was far too overdressed. I attacked the button on his jeans, struggling with the stiff denim. He tried to help, but his hands were more in the way than anything else.“You do your shirt,” I ordered, trying t

PHOEBEThe door had barely closed behind my mom when I let out the breath I didn't know I was holding. I leaned back on the bed and rubbed at my face. The day had drained everything out of me. My bones, my voice, my soul.A soft knock came, and before I could respond, Winnie pushed the door open."Hey," she said softly.I sat up. "You okay?"She nodded and came to sit beside me on the bed, folding her legs like she used to in high school during our endless sleepovers.“I should be asking you that,” she said softly. “Have you guys made any plans yet? About Richard?”I leaned back against the headboard, closing my eyes for a second before answering. “No one’s said anything concrete. We’ve just been… reacting. Not planning. Everyone’s been so caught up in putting out fires, literally and emotionally.”Winnie picked at the hem of her sleeve, her brows knitting together. “Well… I found something.”My eyes snapped open. “What?”She glanced at the door and then back at me, voice dropping low

  • Runaway With Mr. CEO’s Triplets   Chapter 456

RAMONThe night air was cool, crisp, and quiet. The kind of quiet that never lasted long in our world. I stood on the back porch, one hand buried in my jacket pocket, the other holding a cigarette. I hated the habit, but tonight, I needed something to ground me. The taste of ash, the curl of smoke, it dulled the edge of everything just enough.Stephen stood beside me, leaning on the railing, his eyes fixed on the sky like it had answers. He didn’t say much, but that was fine. Some nights didn’t need words.“You smoke?” I asked, glancing sideways. He gave me a small nod, slow and thoughtful. “Sometimes. When things get heavy.”“Tonight qualifies.”“Yeah,” he muttered.I pulled a cigarette from the box and handed it to him. He took it. I flicked the lighter, shielding the flame from the wind, and lit his.We stood there, not talking for a minute or two. Just breathing. Smoking. Thinking.“Hell of a day,” I finally said.He exhaled. “You could say that.”I took another drag and looked ou
