28: WAKE UP

CASSIE'S POV

“Tell me what to do Jim, I need him to wake up,” I said with tears in my eyes. Mitch was just lying there, barely breathing. I feared he wasn’t gonna make it.

“I have no idea, all I know is that when a wolf is hurt, having his mate close to him helps the healing process.” Jim spoke with his forehead creased. Why did he bring me here then when he didn’t know what I was supposed to do. This felt like torture, watching someone you care about suffer like this. It wasn’t a great feeling.

“But I've been here for two hours now and nothing,” I replied frustrated.

“We just need to be patient. How about I get you something to eat? I've been hearing your stomach protesting for hours now,” Jim told me. As soon as he said that, I felt the hungry worms in my belly rioting. I felt a twinge like they were feasting on my intestines. But still, I didn’t feel like eating.

“I'm not hungry.” How did he expect me to eat when Mitch was in a coma?
